tried your idea now ,, didnt work.
I've had the same problem with the latest roms released this week, so I'm assuming it MIGHT have to do with th kernel that they have in common). When it gets stuck on 2nd boot, I simply pull out battery and try again. From then on I don't have this problem anymore each time I boot using clrcad and haret. I'm not bothered to change kernel and the latest seems to be best, thanks to the dev's hard work.

Have you tried another build? I am on revolution 1.7 with s7.1 kernel, I have the second boot issue, I just pull battery out, reboot and there I am, no more issues.
You can't boot HD so try revolution.
I also use exceller to autoboot under 3 seconds.

thank you , i shall try that again,, do you have a link to 1.7 revolution ?
Are you using one of those Class 6 or Class 4 MicroSDHC cards?
If so, replace it with a Class 2 Sandisk or a Class 2 Kingston MicroSDHC card.
In order to achieve Class 6 or higher standards for MicroSDHC cards, some manufacturers uses tweaking, which saves cost in making a "real" class 6 media card. These tweaks causes different problems in different devices. Tweaks may include increasing sequential read speed, but will cause random reads/writes to not be stable.
Which is probably a reason why Microsoft Phone 7 won't allow you to use your own MicroSDHC except the one they approve, and they are still working on the list.

You can also try the following:
1. Download the Android build once again
2. Backup your SD card to your desktop PC
3. Delete the Android folder from the backup just made
4. Reformat your SD card
5. Restore your backup to the SD card
6. Extract your Android build to the SD card
7. Boot Android
had the same Problems with the older kernel and the newest radio..using mdeejay, too.
I changed the radio to 2.12.50.02_2 and set up the newest hastarin kernel together with the titanium Energy Rom and now it works out perfektly
@ OP, this should be in the general section.
I had same problem before. Try to run a check disk thru windows under the removable drive tools. Also have it check for bad sectors.

Did you format, within phone, to FAT32? It looks as though you have experience with builds so I'm sure that you are installing the Android folder on the root of the SD card...make sure that you don't create a folder and then add the build folder to the root folder; it creates a sub and that causes problems.

No build start. i waitted 2 hour's for data.img to be created but no succes. i tried with version copy pasted from my old card who works, still nothing. i don't know what else to do .
btw, i checked your thread, very nice job.

It might be as simple as the "Serioux" card isn't supported; the only other thing that I know off the top of my head is at the bottom of my thread; I had found a link to the formatting issue and that's where I came up with the idea of formatting within WinMo.

I know that it does take some builds to load as it creates the data.img, especially a larger one; if you opted for the 1gb for instance.
You are using the same build as the other card? And, you loaded the file the same way? Did you do it through USB connect?
Let's see if we can't get this goin'!

I think it might be the card. I know that I've seen class 2 and 4 around working; your "Serioux" card is the only one that I can find, as far as brand, and nothing about it working or not working on HD2, maybe return it and get another brand?
It's definately the card. I bought a wintec class 10 16gb and android wont run hardley at all on it, went and bought a 16gb sandisk class 2 at radioshack and android runs flawless on it. The shame is that the sandisk class 2 tests at class 10 speeds. They have it on Newegg for $34, Get model # SDSDQ-016G-A11M. There are two versions on newegg so make sure you order the right one. You won't be disappointed.
thank u all for support. i will try to get another brand. in this time maybe android will boot from nand

no, that's not correct! MAGLDR provides you also the possibility of booting from SD card after some adjustments (so not yet possible with ubuntu). dcordes already reported that he will try to boot ubuntu directly from MAGLDR and also post instructions for 0.3 conversion if it will be trivial

Depends on your nand partition layout etc also - ie: daf? clockworked? etc?
I used sd card with initrd.cpio.gz renamed initrd.gz and same for adb_zimage to zImage. cant get that to stick though so tried with zimage/initrd from the DFT-Android-BOOT.IMG(unyaffs'd) and thus far can get to UBUNTU MOUSE/KEYBOARD then blank/frozen. Some ppl have it working with keyboard I think... We need someone to cut it down and mount/merge rootfs.ext2 into boot.img+system.img (with fixed zImage+initrd.gz) and/or a clocked update.zip for clockwork.
It works though: try it: even just putting zimage and initrd (renamed of course) in root will get verobone 'nix output...
Anyone here can make boot.img+system.img+yaffs-the-ext2. ? or update.zip
or even JUST CORRECT INITRD.GZ+zIMAGE properly?
Would be happy with ANYTHING: even to just TYPE! at a [email protected] Linux on HD2.
Thanks.

xCan someone tell me why it stops at desktop ubuntu?
I copy all linux files to sdcard \linux and setup magldr sd-boot to here.
COPY (not renamed) initrd.cpio.gz to initrd.gz and adb_zimage to just zImage.
partitioned sd card previously with 4096-ext and 256-cache (16gb) using CLOCKWORK OF COURSE.
NAND=clockwork/blank.
Boots.
But can someone help me/make a boot.img+system.img(containing FIXED initrd.gz and zImage) PLEASE - and proper flash.cfg for daf.exe ???
or UPDATE.ZIP for clockwork install ???
Thanks.
Will donate $.

Over last few days, have download several SD builds of Android.
I Copy the android folder to root of SD card
I start the phone in Windows Mobile
I run CLRCAD
I run HARET
I get the grey window about starting/booting (cant remember exact, head spinning)
then get black screen with small writing
then get HTC splash screen and thats it.
each build I have tried, have left at boot screen from 60 to 90 minutes.
Now, 6 months ago with earlier version of Energy ROM, and different radio, I could load earlier version of SD Android.
Today I had a friend around, with an older radio and the same earlier version of energy rom that I used to have, and still no go on his.
What is happening (or not).
Do I need to have an EXT2/2/4 partition on my SD Card?
Something more simple??
Ideally, I wanted to try a Desire HD Sense ROM.

Have you tried putting a blank data.img file on the sd card before the boot?
If not try that, they are usually available from the first post in the builds thread.
A few I tried wouldn't boot the first time unless I put that file in there.
I'm guessing it won't help, because some (if not all) of those builds can create a blank one for you, but it won't hurt to try.
This is the one from MDJ's 4.6 build you have tried. The link is from his thread. Extract the file using 7zip and stick it in the android folder.
http://www.multiupload.com/BJ2FXF9IRM
There's no need for partitioning or any kind of fancy stuff for running a simple WinMo6.5/Android dualboot. I suppose formatting your SD card (do it in WinMo, seems to be more effective) should solve your problems.
@MattOG: The data.img helps shortening the first boot time, I've never heard it actually fixes problems?

Hello everyone, I would have posted this under:

but my less then 10 post restriction is not allowing me to .
My problem is once the ROM boots up, as soon as it says "Preparing SD Card", my phone freezes. The only thing I can think of is that I have an incompatible SD card. I am currently using the one that came with my phone which is a class 2 16gb SanDisk. What would you guys recommend that I use?
Use a program called SDFormatter (from Panasonic) .. format it.
Then use windows format utility to give it a slow format 4096 cluster FAT32
Works great for me on "broken" cards.
He's right. The stock card should work.

A class 2 Sandisk should be fine unless it's defective. Maybe you have build setup wrong... have you tried a different build? Try that and see if it works. Are you trying to dualboot or anything like that? Or load the build with magldr?

If you are using magldr, you need a build compatible with magldr or edit the init.rc file in the build to make it work with magldr. Look at the thread in my signature... post 2 has some builds that I edited to work with magldr. I'll be adding more soon.
Alright, well I've formatted my sd card and now it's worse then before. It just stays stuck at the MAGDLR screen and doesn't boot up at all. As far as I know the build is compatible with MAGDLR so I'm not sure what the problem is.
