screen protectors for Kaiser

Iam Searching for high quality screen protectors for my Kaiser, because the includes has many scratches, i think made with stylus and fingernails
I search one which is working nice with touchscreen, scratch resitend and not so much reflecting light from behind
do you know good ones?

Generally the same as a desktop screen in difference. You get brighter more vibrant colors with the glossy ones, but you pay for it in glare/reflection on the device. Matt screens are better in brighter environments, and I personally like how they feel under my fingers better. The matte also reduces viewing angles which might be a plus for privacy.
Alot of people turn the brightness down on battery power, so keep this in mind since the matte will kind of "dull" the image quality. Text also isn't as sharp on the matte.
I am a fan of JavoEdge (JavoScreens), and I have both the matte and glossy and after trying both for about a week each I've decided I like the glossy better.

anti-glare screen protector/film?

anyone found a good anti-glare screen protector or film for the Nexus?
the AMOLED is clearly near worthless in direct sunlight... barely readable even at 100% screen brightness setting (which would drain the battery in no time)...
I've tried the Clarivue ones - the 'anti-glare' ones they claim, but all that is is a matte/brushed finish... which just makes the screen look cloudy all the time... definitely reduces the crispness of the screen...
wondering if there is a solution (even if it's "cut your own") for a film that is smooth and glossy, but has an anti-reflective property to it.... maybe even something with some polarized property....

here in spain its pretty sunny and everytime that I use my N1 while walking I have to but brightness up to maximum. for me its allright like that even thought drains faster the battery.

OyVe... guess I could just get a 3.5' iPhone one and not have the corners covered to see if better... wonder if there is any glare protectors on their website to use with a 3.7' phone that I could order it for and use for the N1

Boxwave makes a pretty decent one. They offer one precut for the N1. I would post a URL but I can't yet.
Any screen protector with anti-glare properties will always make the display slightly cloudy. I got one of boxwave's anti-glare screen protectors for my Moto Cliq and it worked very well. The clouding is very minimal and is hard to notice. It also gives the added benefit of greatly reducing the visibility of fingerprints and smudges.
I just ordered one for the N1 too.

Thank you, might order this today. I wish there were some actual pictures to see the difference...

I just received the boxwave screen protector a few minutes ago. I attached a picture with it applied. It's not a very good picture though. I don't have manual focus on my camera, so it looks more fuzzy than it actually is. I hope this helps a bit though.
I tried it out in near-direct sunlight outside and there's a definite improvement, especially if you increase the screen brightness. It also makes your finger slide across the screen easier. You don't get that grip feeling like on the glass.

Are all T-mob Vibrant Screen protectors poor quality?

I just applied an official T-mobile screen protector for vibrant... Applied it well with no air bubbles... but when I turned my display on.. I saw that it makes the screen look really blurry and kind of pixelated because of poor quality plastic texture...
I also noticed that the plastic film that the vibrant came with was better quality because it was completely see through and it never worsened the quality of phone's display.
Does anyone else see this with T-mobile screen protectors???
Any recommendations on which one to buy?
I feel like T-mobile really failed at making a screen protector for such a brilliant display.

I always get screen protectors on Amazon. They are so much cheaper.

They are $10.99 I believe for 2 of them on eBay and Amazon.

What about not falling for the screen protector scam these company are running, You dont need a screen protector for this phone, and anything you put on this S amoled screen will lower the quality of the screen, Remember you are applying a film of something that will have an impact. How can you say that... There is No mention of Vibrant having a gorilla glass! On Euro Galaxy S model it does say that it has a gorilla glass protecting the screen.
Plus many users on xda said that they got tiny scratches from having the phone in their pocket.. without anything else in it! So there goes to show you still need a screen protector to protect from salt on finger tips and sand in pockets.

I keep my phone in my pocket with keys, coins and any number of other things and I do it naked (but that's besides the point)
I also saw a video on YouTube in Japanese where the guy was trying to scratch it with razor blades, keys, dropping it and various other tortures. I wish I had the link. Anyway, I agree that this phone does not need a screen protector and you will only be degrading the visual impact to some degree. With that said I know that many people just feel better about doing so.

Thanx for your comment... I have seen the video you're speaking of... I was just very sceptical since they show the european galaxy s in there and not the vibrant... And since u said u keep it with ur keys and w/o screen protect that is good news! Thanx!!! I guess Im gona take my ugly t-mobile rip off screen protector off

+1 on the realook. You can't even tell it's on there (can't say the same for clearfreak and definitely not the t-mo one. I tried them both.)
By the way, there are plenty of reports of people scratching the Vibrant screen w/ normal use.

The T-Mobile screen protector are a real sh**. I bouth it when i bouth the phone and they are a poor quality ones and dont cover the entire screen

No gorilla glass?
There were several articles posted in the last week or so (Engadget, Gizmodo, Androidguys) about how it turns out that gorilla glass was indeed used on the Galaxy phones.

It has already been confirmed that the vibrant has gorilla glass. I'm not saying it won't scratch. Its probably a tad more resistant.

I'm with sano614, I bought and have had the Realook protectors from Day 1 and they are crystal clear, so much so that you can't tell you even have it on, but the protection is there. I could bet that these people think they scratched it as I thought mine was scratched SEVERAL times but it was just weird smudges or something that looked like a scratch. After thorough wiping the scratch turned out to be an illusion. My glass is perfectly FLAWLESS with no special treatment whatsoever.
Take it for what it's worth. Maybe I've just been extremely lucky.

Went through 3 different screen protectors and by far Realook is the best. I can't even tell it's even on there.

Realook is amazing, I have had quite a few compliments on it after I tell them there is a screen protector because they don't realize one is there. +1 realook

+1 for Realook ! Like everyone here already mentioned, you can hardly feel its presence after you apply it and you know you are protected.
I've used Tmobile's screen protector. It gives the display a scattered rainbow like look. The only good thing was the matt finish was very less reflective and less prone to finger prints. I replaced it with Realook and I'm loving it.

I also have used screen protectors religiously. This time I had zagg, **** was too sticky feeling so I ripped it off after some friends said they go naked on there evos, n1s and incredible, so, I said hell, I never put it in my pocket with anything anyways.
Well, Its just sooooo much better without one. Ive yet to get a scratch either and even dropped it in between the seats of the car and it hit all the way down. One guy up above mentioned it looking like theres scratches but were wiped away, Ive also had those and thought, "oh crap I got a scratch," but realized it wiped right off and my screen also is flawless still.
Gorilla glass or not this bad boy is tough... Just reserve one pocket for your phone only. My right is only my phone and my left is everything else. Pretty soon it will become second nature and you wont even need to think what pocket to put **** in...
GO naked, screw protectors.

Honestly, if realook wasn't this amazing, then I would have definitely gone naked since all other screen protectors seem to take away from the Super AMOLED screen. But to all honesty, realook is awesome. It seriously doesn't feel like there's anything on the screen once installed.
The vibrant may have gorilla glass, but why not invest $10 bucks to protect a $500 phone anyways?

I don't run a screen protector and haven't had any problems with the vibrant or my old G1. I do keep my vibrant in my old G1 pouch case though when its in my pocket.

I'm looking for an anti-glare screen protector, it doesn't even have to fit properly I just need a screen protector that will allow me to use the phone outdoors on a sunny day (which at the moment is not very easily). But the I saw this post on the forum saying

LG G4 screen vanishes In landscape mode when viewing with polarized sunglasses on.

Not sure if this is common knowledge by now but on my bus ride home yesterday I had sunglasses on and changed the orientation of my phone to landscape for a video and the screen went black. I thought it was a bug but when I removed my glasses I was mistaken.

We've been discussing this in the tempered glass screen protector thread. After installing my screen protector, I can make out the screen again. It's nowhere near crystal clear, but at least it can be seen.

I've had this issue with numerous phones in the past

The screen will have a polarization filter on it as well to reduce glare / reflections, when your glasses oppose the polarization of the filter you'll see nothing.
Cheap sunglasses ...
Good polarizing sunglasses will have one lens orientated at +45 degrees and the other lens at -45 degrees. That way each lens will knock out 50% of pure horizontal and vertical light each and when tilted one will let all the light through and the other will block all of the light.

I did that yesterday. I was so pissed when driving somewhere for my job. I had my sunglasses off for a min and noticed that. Freaked me out.... Big time. I was already looking for lgs number. When i figured out out. (sigh)

This is just how lcds work. The liquid crystal changes the polarization of the light when electricity is applied. Thus it switches from allowing light through the polarizing filter or blocking it.
What I still don't understand is why oled displays are polarized, though they seem to use a 45 degree angle, so they get dark, but not black with my sunglasses in either orientation.

I first learned about it when i bought the Stylo earlier this summer. I wear polarized Rx sunglasses most of the time. My phone is 80-90% in landscape mode when i'm outside or driving. I take lots of pics, video, dashcam, gps. I returned Stylo. Just bought moto G3. Same thing. None of my other phones and tab have this issue. I've had LG optimus one, Nokias, cheaper older samsung, recent devices LG L9/90, galaxy s3, tab3. Never had a problem with polarization. I wanted to give moto a chance so i put a spare tab3 protector over the screen and it was perfect. Ordered cheap ebay protector for moto, put it over the screen, still perfect. Cleaned moto, peeled protective layers, applied the protector. Better but still dim and annoying. I then put one of the protective layers over the screen and that made viewing in portrait and landscape perfect. I can't apply the protective layer back to the protector, its not as smooth, i'm not getting rid of rx polarized sunglasses, i hate to return moto g3 bc i like it, i'm buying locked overpriced samsung S5 because it has a better screen. Somehow the thin protecting layer has the ability to neutralize polarization. I'll continue looking for solution.
Update: applying either a protective layer or another protector on top of a protector resolves my landscape dimming issue with polarized sunglasses in moto g3. I only placed it over the screen. Not sure if changes screen responsiveness on the long run. Didn't test long enough. I'm also changing my current polarized G15 rx lens to non-polarized. I'm a bit tired of always using polarized lenses anyway.

It is common knowledge. It's physics and happens every time you wear polarized sunglasses and try to look at a something that emits polarized light in the "wrong" (90° rotated) direction. Smartphone manufactures prefer to cancel out landscape view, as this is the less frequent view mode.

And no, it is NOT cheap sunglasses. Quite the opposite. Sunglasses that polarize the light are considered to have lenses in higher quality. It is a feature that is asked for and common for example in the better Ray Ban glasses.
When you live and/or work near water, on snow you will always want to use ONLY polarized sunglasses.

I had some improvement indoors with a regular cheap ebay screen protector but in car its dim, almost no difference with or without protector. Applying another protector on top of a protector makes a difference, but still not perfect. I'm trying to find a protector that cancels polarization in LCD so i can use my rx glasses and the phone in landscape mode.

Very interesting discovery! Please forgiving me for posting the basically same reply (with added details at the bottom) that I did to the other thread on AC.
I just tried this myself. I used a common polyethylene ziplock bag, laid over the screen. Then put on polarized glasses to see what it did. If I rotate the bag so it faces in a certain direction, I can once again see the screen in Landscape mode. It happens to look brightest near the ziplock strip. The bag film may be thicker there, the surface is also textured in that area.
If I then look at the screen in Portrait mode, however, the screen looks dimmer near the ziplock strip. So in this particular example, there seems to be a trade-off in how the screen looks in Portrait vs Landscape.
There may be other materials that do a better job of reducing the polarization of the light from the screen. I tried having just 1, or both layers of film in the front of the screen, the results seemed about the same to me.
See the attached pictures. I put a polarizing filter on my camera, to simulate wearing polarized glasses. I oriented the filter so it worked like glasses (bright in Portrait, dark in Landscape). Then oriented the bag to maximize the brightness of the screen in Landscape mode, with another picture taken in Portrait, for comparison.
For testing, at least, perhaps you could try a large screen protector, like for an iPad. Something with enough real estate that you could cut a G4 protector from it, in the orientation you needed.
This assumes, of course, that the single film of that screen protector would help provide what you want, if oriented at the proper angle. Can you test this theory by peeling off the cheap eBay protector, and test rotating that film while wearing polarized glasses and viewing it in Landscape orientation?

So i've finally done it. Thinking two protectors would do the trick i applied another protector. Coincidentally i couldn't peel off the top protecting layer so i kept it. Now the screen is viewable again. I decided to peel off the top protecting layer just enough to test what it would be like with just the two protectors. Dim in landscape. I left the protecting layer on for now. Hopefully someone will come up with polarization canceling protector soon. I don't feel too bad because i didn't buy flagship g3/4 but still upset. See pics below. Without glasses, portrait, landscape.

I have the same "issue" with both of my sunglasses - Ray Ban and Maui Jim polarized sunglasses

Polarized G15 rx $110 at local walmart not cheap for a garbage polycarbonate lens :laugh:

I don't have this problem with my M9 lcd, I use it landscape everyday in my car for audio and gps, though I wear Rayban aviators and screen is at 100% brightness. Of course it's perhaps 10-15% less bright than eyes naked but it's still perfectly visible, perhaps LG is using an extra coating (or htc is)

Anybody have any luck buying a tempered glass protector or other variant to help reduce the darkening in landscape?

I ordered tempered glass on ebay for my moto g3. Will post when it arrives.

Almost perfect with a tempered glass protector. Probably 90-95% as good as portrait. Seems like glass cancels polarization better than clear plastic film.

Maybe yours, but not all. My screen basically turns black in landscape with my tempered glass protector.

I ordered the cheapest tempered glass i could find on ebay for my moto g3. Before i had temp glass i constantly had to remove my glasses while driving to look at the screen. I use GPS and record video in background often. Couldn't take it anymore. Ordering another temp glass protector for backup. Can't think of anything else unless someone makes a protector specifically for G4.
