Hi - a bit of an unusual request. Could someone please post up a screen shot of the pin lock settings screen?
I have managed to forget/lose my pin. I'm sure the keyboard when entering the pin on the settings page is in a different format to the one on the actual lockscreen so I'm hoping this will jog my memory.
Otherwise it looks like a hard reset is on the cards.
Thanks for you help.
There you are
Thank you kilrah.
Unfortunately it looks like I'm still doing a hard reset.

I have posted this before a couple of days back on another thread so sorry.
Just wanted to know if there is a reg key that i can modify to get HD2 slider lock back.
A little background to the problem, i installed Cookies Home tab and now my slider lock is gone(the one that comes default with HD2). It may not be related to CHT as the folks on the other thread suggest. when i try the soft key lock button on right hand side bottom it used to lock my phone and i had to unlock it using the slide lock. Now it still gets locked but the home screen still remains and an unlock shows up at the bottom left hand side, which on tapping presents me with an ugly out of the place unlock screen and on tapping it again i am able to unlock it.
I am tempted to do a hard reset coz i like the default slider lock, however i want to give in to tweaks and try things before jumping for the extreme. Any suggestions/ bright ideas appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. I tried S2U2 but i kinda miss the default one and uninstalled it.
Sorry guys i figured out what was wrong and i have the default slider lock back!
the reason it was disabled was, my setting> lock > display was set to windows classic.
I changed it to windows default and the lock is back.
Thanks.
unlock the screen is straight forward, how to lock it is the question! anybody can help?
A quick press on the power button will do the trick!
haha...tt's simple...tx a million!
Yeah! No problem!
Don't want to create a whole new thread for this as its probably a simple answer, but is there a way to lock the screen with numbers or something similar to the Sense UI? I just ask as I haven't seen any security on the lock screen so anyone can get in? There must be a way to lock it so only you can open it?

Well yeah. You can set a lock pattern that works in the same way. Kind of. It's in settings -> Security and at the top!
This is not a nexus 10 specific question, so sorry if there was a better place for this.
I just bought and installed HD widgets' and its great. The issue is that it has now disabled the smart cover capability of my case. Now opening the case just takes you to the lock screen, a touch annoying as you might imagine.
Due to the nature of the search terms, Google is being quite useless, focuses on adding widgets to the lock screen, not on how to sort it with a smart cover.
A anyone know how to sort this out? Many thanks.
Based on your post, I'm assuming that you want no lock screen of any kind? You want to just open the cover, and have it on the homepage? If that's correct, I may be able to help. I have HD widgets as well, but never noticed a problem because I had a pattern lock set up already.when I went to change it, the options under security for None, Slite, and Face unlock were grayed out. What I had to do to fix it was to go under Settings, Security, and clear all credentials. After this I was able to disable the lock screen. I haven't noticed any adverse effects. Everything seems to be working fine.
Hope this helps.
hi
I've just spent 3 days transferring all my stuff from my s3 to s5 and setting everything up how I want it and I thought it would be cool to try the finger print scanner. which for me is working really well except for when my hand have been wet for a while then I'm locked out.
anyway the point of this post is I have forgotten my alternative password and I would like to 1. turn off the scanner or 2. change the password but both option seem to need the password. is there away I can use my finger print to do any of the above or any other method to delete the old password.
Thanks

All you need to do is delete all of the registered fingerprints. You don't need the password to do this, you can confirm with your fingerprint. Once you remove all the registered prints, the lock screen will go back to swipe. Alternately, you could also restore your backup to revert the fingerprint settings. Or factory reset your phone and start from scratch.
I can't believe that you searched very hard (at all?) for an answer though or you would have found existing threads asking and answering this question.
.
Thanks
After having a few adult beverages last night i was showing this girl the fingerprint scanner lockscreen, it works no issues.... But i have no idea what I set my alternative password to to be able to change it.
I really don't want to have to do a factory reset, what are my options?
Sounds like it doubles as an IQ test too. Setting a password that you won't remember isn't a great approach. But you can get out of this mess by deleting all of your fingerprints. You can confirm the action by swiping your finger (rather than needing the password). When you've deleted all fingerprints on file, you should return to a normal lock screen.
