Hi,
i have a new g1 phone, which was unlocked last week. everything worked for a short while, but suddenly i've received a "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network" error message, and couldn't find a network anymore.
i've tried to hard-reset, but since then it doesn't recognizes my sim card (or any other sim card). i just get a 'no sim card in phone' message.
what can i do?
thanks!

Go to your carrier's nearest store and get a new SIM card?
The first step might be to remove and CLEAN your simcard.
If that doesn't work, concentrate on REPLACING the simcard.
well, i've already tried 3 different sim cards, none of which were recognized by the G1, so i'm assuming this isn't caused by the card itself. right?
Settings -> Security & location -> Set up SIM card lock -> disable then re-enable Lock SIM card.
That should fix it.
I am also having this problem with my G1; I have no service on any of the sim cards i have tested.
When searching for networks it happily finds them all, but will not connect.
I tried the tip mentioned above with no luck.
If anyone knows the solution that would be fantastic!

My screen broke and i got a replacement from Dell. But after inserting my SIM and SD card the device boots but does not ask for the pin code of the SIM. I'm not able to call and above the screen no provider is visible. It does recognize my sim because the sim manager knows it's a vodaphone sim. But all the relevant settings in the menu are grey and at some places the message 'network or sim error' appears. If i put my sim in my iphone, it's working fine.
Any idea's, please?
Problem solved. I connected my streak to wifi and it said that an update to Android 2.2 was available. After downloading and installing the problem was solved.
hi!
i recently bought an omnia 7 on ebay, t-mobile locked.
due to i have a vodafon contract, i unlocked it online, with imei unlock.
now the phone accepts my sim card, but i keep getting "no service".
today i bought a t-mobile sim card, just to try, and it is the same.
when i am changing sim cards, the network profile app changes the settings.
i flashed another rom, found here (jj6 uk), i updated to 7720, nothing helps.
i guess it isnt the sim card reader, cause the network profile app recognises any sim card.
is there an antenna problem or just some software thing?
can i fix the antenna by myself, if it is broken or sthing?...
i fall in love with this phone, i dont want to get rid of it...
any suggestions appreciated.
I'm supposed to have my phone SIM unlocked as per the process of rooting. Is there something else that needs to be done to see another carrier's SIM card? It acknowledges the networks in my area but won't connect to that of the new SIM Card. Any ideas on this?
Hi there,
So, My dad just bought this beast. first impression is really amazing. So, To get started, I cutted down my sim card into micro-sim and Inserted it in yureka. after booting, It shows no sim card. When I search for networks and Click on any network for registration, It says "Your sim card does not support on this connection" something like that. I have checked the sim and it is working in other smartphones.
Just in case, I have cm11 in it. Not updated yet. any help would be appreciated. Sorry, If i posted in wrong section
EDIT: CHECK THE ATTACHMENT. Sim slot looks different as compared to others. I am from india.
Test the sim to both slots and see if one of them working. And if no slot works out, then try other micro sim to test sim working. If that too not working, means slot are not functioning. Need hardware replacement or whatever you can get.
Well, I already tried in both of them. Not sure about other micro sims.
I've been a T-Mobile customer with my OnePlus 1, got the OnePlus 5 today and went by the local T-Mobile store and got a new SIM card. A couple hours later I got around to actually setting up my phone. I realized I wasn't getting app verification codes, so I called T-Mobile to make sure the SIM card activated properly. She had me confirm the SIM card was inserted properly, then she had me turn the phone off and she "sent it a signal." That got text and data working, but still no go on the phone. She transferred me to the next tier up tech support. On the phone with them, we turned off WiFi, WiFi calling preferred, VoLTE, and automatic selection for Network operators. The phone did it's search and we selected T-Mobile 4G for the Network operator. The phone says it registered on the network, but T-Mobile says it didn't. We tried the second SIM slot but no change. We did a couple reboots and still a no go. I was then told that since it's not a T-Mobile branded phone, they can't guarantee that it will work. They recommend I put the SIM in a T-Mobile phone to confirm that the SIM works - I'll do that when I get home and try it in my wife's phone.
When I turn on VoLTE, I get text and can make calls, otherwise if I make a call, it just calls T-Mobile.
Under Settings > About phone > Status > SIM status, Cellular network state shows disconnected.
I also see under Settings > SIM & network > SIM 1 > SIM name it shows the name as T-Mobile but Carrier says Unknown
Fresh out of the box, running 4.5.3. Has anyone else had any problems getting their OnePlus 5 to register on T-Mobile? I searched the T-Mobile support site but didn't find anything helpful.
I'll try the SIM card in the wife's T-Mobile S7 when I get home, but if anyone has any pointers, I'd appreciate the help.
OnePlus 5 on T-Mobile here and no issues at all.

Same here. I also have 0 issues
Are you using the latest 4.5.4 update for OP5? They had fixes for VoLTE not connecting. Even though I think that was Europe only thing, the download made its way to my phone automatically. If you're not on 4.5.4, go upgrade (it's a simple thing to do)
What are your APNs set to?
Goto...
Settings
Sim and network
Sim x (1 or 2, wherever the sim is installed)
Access point names
Without doing anything besides entering my sim card into the phone and starting it, I have 4 options
If you have anything outside of your current provider, add them. The easiest way to do this is to open up another TMobile phone you have, goto to the same location on that phone and copy settings manually to your OP5.
I did this for my wife's S7 coming from Verizon. Although she doesn't get WiFi calling without flashing firmware (which I'll be doing when she's ready) you shouldn't have that issue.
Bad SIM card
Turns out the SIM card was bad. Went to the T-Mobile store, let the guy double check everything, then he grabbed a new SIM card, popped it in and two minutes later everything was working. I asked him how often he sees bad SIM cards, he said one or two a year.
