Switch Port to Qualcomm Diag and Modem - Touch Diamond2, Pure General

Hi all,
I'm wondering if there is a way to change to external usb port to become a a Qualcomm Diag and Modem port?
I have all the qualcomm drivers and software to drive it, but can't quite see how to get the unit into the right mode.
Thank-you for any info that can help

I may be confused by your question but you ask to "use as modem port", so you can use your device as a modem? If so, this would be accomplished by the software Internet Sharing on your device. regarding Qualcomm Diag, don't know, sorry.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the reply.
When I enable 'qualcomm mode' on a mobile (like a Samsung SGH-F480 etc) via an AT command, the phone will offer two ports to Windows Device Manager - Qualcomm Modem and Qualcomm Diagnostic Port.
I am after a way of making my TD2 do the same.
I hope that makes sense, its been a long week.
Simon

Yes.. it does indeed make sense.. I'm trying to do the same.
For example.. on vodafone 845 phone (U8220 from huawei) those two ports are present, but they are not on U8150 for example.
I'm trying to find out how to enable them.
Did you make any progress about this?

QXDM working on JASJAR

I managed to get QXDM work with JASJAR, for this I used the DMRouter.exe software and Qualcomm USB Host drivers (search for Axess_tel.zip). The QXDM software gets a lot of interesting information from the Qualcomm chip.
Now, the question is how can I get this information from inside the device? I would like to understand what exactly the DMRouter.exe program does, and then to communicate with the chip directly, the same way QXDM does.
Can anybody help with the disassembly of DMRouter.exe?

writing usb driver for x7501??

Hi there,
I'm looking for some information about what i would need to do to get a USB device recognised on my x7501. I'm looking to connect a USB-to-UART bridge chip (FT232RL or something) to the device so I can essentially have a serial/COM port on my phone, which i can use for data logging.
I was wondering if anyone's had experience with anything like this so i could find out:
A) what devices are already supported in WM6, as the bridge chips can mimic a virtual com port via built in windows drivers but im not sure if this driver is in windows mobile
B) what i would need to do to setup for dev for writing WM software and the driver if necessary (i have visual studio, i think there is a WM emulator but im not sure totally?)
C) any other questions you think are relevant to my goal
thanks in advance,
sebastian

[Q] Activate Diagnostics port on SGH-i637

Hi, please help me with this. I need to activate the Diagnostics COM port in the SGH-i637.
Some info about this phone:
- This phone has a 32 bit Qualcomm MSM7201A CPU and Windows Mobile 6.1 OS.
- When connecting this phone as Modem, only modem driver is installed in Windows.
- During Flashing procedure (Turn off phone, press J, connect USB cable to PC, do not turn on phone) a Qualcomm device is detected and installs a COM port.
- Entering *#197328640#, then Option 9 (Common), then Option 4 (Diag_HFK_Configuration) only UART3 and UART 2DM are available (no USB Diag)
- Entering *#7284# nothing happens. Running Emchanger.exe or dataconnection.exe, you can choose between PDA or USB mode, but nothing happens.
- This phone is very similar to Samsung GT-B7320 and GT-B7330, on those both phones, changing from PDA to USB works (entering *#7284#) and installs the Diag COM Port.
So, any clue if there is a way to activate the Diagnostics port on this i637 smartphone?
Thanks!
Samsung GT-B7330 QXDM
I'm also working with QXDM and Samsung phones. I'm trying to used the USB modem mode(*#7284#) on my GT-B7330 but I can't find the right windows driver for it. Could someone provide me with the Samsung USB modem for the GT-B7330
I've search on the web and although I found many versions I could not get one which worked with the GT-B7330
Thanks
Running Emchanger not happening
as i wrongly updated my gt-b7320 to AT&T sgh i637 windows 6.5 now some of the keys are not working and led is always on
when i connect the phone to pc no COM port is showing it doesnt enter in boot mode as when i do it manually by *#7284# it shows cant find emchanger.exe
so is it possible to get my orginial version back by flashing it with original file.....

[Q] LG Optimus L5 (e612g) How To show COM Port for Windows7

Hello all,
I have an LG Optimus L5 version e612g which is from a Mexican carrier (Iusacell).
I have mainly 2 concerns and I would greatly appreciate your help if someone has dealt with this before.
1. Basically what I want is to connect this device to my QPST and QXDM. I have already searched the forums but have not had luck on finding about how to show the COM port on Device Manager > Ports. I downloaded and installed both drivers I found:
First, I installed the LG United Mobile Driver (LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN38AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.8.1.exe) found on the official LG Website
Then I browsed this forum and found this driver for the phone: LG Android Driver (LGdriver.exe) and installed it afterwards.
I then updated the driver with the latter driver and the only thing I see in the Device Manager is the Android Sooner Single ADB Interface under ADB Interface group. I don't see any new Port under COM Ports (see attached image).
2. I would like to know if there's a way to send AT commands to the phone so that I can LOCK the phone to a specific Frequency and avoid the Phone from jumping to another frequency (similar to when you LOCK the phone to stay in 3G or GSM, but for a specific frequency A.K.A UARFCN)
I would gladly appreciate your help on the subject and hope to hear from any of the experts soon.
Regards,
Erick

Not sure which driver you tried to install, but I would probably manual install it even though it was plug and play for me and probably most other GS4 users. I found the Samsung's AT&T page and the driver download link but I can't post links yet because of, well, my post count. If you do a search of "Galaxy S4 SHG-l337 driver", you get a "Support - AT&T...." link (should be first one) that links you to a Samsung.com domain. Go there, scroll down, and hit the "Downloads" tab and install that driver.

Go to control panel -> programs -> uninstall a program
when the list is displayed, see if something that is called "SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones" is installed, if not, then chances are you need that. If it is installed, then see if you can get your hands on another cable, could just be a faulty cable.
