Rogers Caller Name Display For htc t7379 Telus Touch Pro 2 - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

ok i know there is a post on this section for the rogers cnap and caller id. but that was all for gsm phones. The htc t7379 telus touch pro 2 is cdma/gsm. looking to get the caller name display to work on this phone. the callers number does show up but not the name. i had a att fuze with this problem and i got it to work by installing rogers rilphone cab. this will be a first for me working on a cdma global phone on rogers. I tryed the cab but obviously it wont work because its for gsm. Lets try to work on this fix here as it looks like telus will be dealing alot now in global phones.
attached will be the rogers rilphone cab for the fuze if someone wants to look at it. I dont have the telus riphone i can get it from the phone if someone can tell me how to get it. i tryed copying to card but it wont let me.

bump \\\\\\\\\\\ Anyone????

bump i finally got my hands on a rilphone for the touch pro 2 if anyone can compare to 2 and code them to work that would be great. i was looking at the code and it looks like they would be the same. ill continue to look at the code but this is all new to me so it may be a while. Attached stock rilphone if anyone wants to attempt it.

[request]Treo 700W Operator/Bluetooth Plugin

Hi all!
Can anyone extract and mod the Treo 700w's Operator and Bluetooth Plugin so other WM5 devices can use it?
This would be very nice...
I went to a Palm store over the weekend and checked Settings /Today
and did not see an item for this. I wonder if it's 'hooked' in from something else.
Didn't get a chance to check out the registry to see the dll involved.
I'm waiting for BTT's ROM dump hopefully we can isolate the DLL and 'apply' it to non Palm and non CDMA devices. It just struck me that this [the palm] is a CDMA device and we have GSM on our devices...
The Treo750 is comming to europe Sept/Oct it has all of these Plugins.
It is also 3G...
wow any links anyone ,sounds good

any news of the rom dump?
I received a replacement Treo 700w from Verizon DTS and it was new in the box, unactivated.
I updated it to 1.10, then ROM and registry dumped it.
http://rapidshare.de/files/21072336/Virgin_Treo700w_1.10_ROM_Registry_Dump.rar.html
It's as clean as you can get of the ROM and registry.
bnycastro, did you get a chance to look into this?
I would be interested in this to if anyone manages to solve it

Can anyone help??

Does anyone have the Master Lock Code for the HTC Sprint Mogul 6800 It is a CDMA Phone. I need it so I can use it on a different provider in my country. It is compatable with my provider but they need the lock code an then I am good. Can anyone help out ??? Thanks

For Developers How To Enable The FM Radio On CDMA Diamond Or Touch Pro

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43004
(By JakDillard)
First you will need a gsm touch diamond rom or touch pro rom - extract the drivers relating to the fm radio i.e. fms.dll or fminit2.bts -move these file into your oemdrivers folder (replacing the one that are already in there) and BAM done .... I got this to work on a rom I was working on then I got a Touch Pro so it does work however the sound is not that loud.... enjoy

Can you give me a list of all the drivers you used?
Not sure if it's needed or not, but I also found the following registry entries:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\FMS]
"Prefix"="FMS"
"Dll"="FMS.dll"
"Index"=dword:1
"HTCdebug"=dword:1
Attached is a ZIP with those that I found. Please let me know if I need anymore. Also attached is the FM Radio OEM's from the GSM Raphael ROM. Just in case any cooks need it. I'll also try to make some CAB installs if anybody would like that as well. Please let me know if anybody else gets this running on CDMA devices.
I've also attached a CAB file below that has both the drivers, and the application included. Should be able to install it, and look in Program for the App. Please let me know how this goes.
man...
i would love to see this happen on the cdma!! any progress??
How do you install it. I have a sprint TP. I put all the files on my storage card and just installed lenny fm radio.cab onto my main memory. I get a unexpectd error when i launch. Do i have to install or do anytying with the files in the zip as well? if i do how do you move the files and where to?
call me retarded, but after installing your Lennyxxx.cab I also get the unexpected error, but I also cannot find the FMS.dll on my phone.

I just checked the cab file. It is in there. These files are probably better off if they are cooked in. Due to certificates and such, and security.
I'm retarded, I found the .dll file on there. Still same result.. bummer
the files mentioned must be cooked in your rom for it to work properly, Im not the one that discovered this (as said in the first post... By JakDillard) but i tried it out and it worked fine
Cheers

And this was for the CDMA version? The "official" word is the radio hardware isnt even in the cdma version.
I can confirm that it works on the CDMA Diamond installed from Lenny's cab.

all that is in the .cab is drivers and registry it not hardware but software and drivers if we dont have the hardware then it wont work but if we do have the hardware then this should work even though i havent got it to work yet.

colonel00 said it isnt so ?
Colonel's Diamond ROM was a custom Sprint ROM with all security removed. Thats the main reason my cab worked for him. Other than that, it's probably gonna have to be cooked in.
Also though, on a custom Raph ROM, my cab did not work. Which is weird since these file came from the GSM Raph. But we're working on it. Keep us updated!
According to Nochem this ONLY works on the Diamond, the Pro doesnt have the proper radio gpios.

"So, a recent hot topic in the CDMA Diamond/Touch Pro world is the FM Radio – Here’s what my research has shown so far:
The Bluetooth chipset (BRF6350) on both devices support FM Radio+RDS, but need an antenna provided by the headphone to operate.
I’ve got the FM Radio to work perfectly on the Diamond, and will release nueROM-S for the Diamond that supports the FM Radio.
HOWEVER, the Touch PRO is a different – I suspect that either the radio gpios are disconnected completely, or radio support is disabled in the SPL.
As to why Sprint/HTC decided to take out the FM Radio, I’m not sure… Perhaps they had difficulty obtaining FCC approval, I’m not sure… Or maybe HTC wanted more money to include the FM Radio…."

Looks like Diamond users win this battle
TV-Out > FM Radio
But ya, it's definetly annoying to have capabilities arbitrarily removed from both devices based on marketing decisions (or whatever their reasons were).
According to what I read, I understand that there is a CDMA Diamond U.S. version, similar in hardware to the UK GSM version, and the Sprint Touch Diamond version. All the successful reports with the FM Radio appear to be on the U.S. Version (NOT SPRINT TOUCH DIAMOND VERSION). Somebody can confirm this? This is right, two versions? Somebody can put to work the FM Radio on the Sprint Touch Diamond version?

The one that colonel has is the Sprint US Version if I'm not mistaken.
There's no way to use the FM Radio as an FM Transmitter is there? If so, then that would be cool, but I don't think they two work hand in hand.

Name Display for Canadian Rogers/Fido

Hi I uploaded a working cab for Name Display for Rogers and Fido subscribers.
I used the rilphone.dll from the new Rogers roms released. The corresponding radio is 1.14.25.55.
It should work for most custom and stock roms. The only problem I found was it doesn't show in the dialer for the new touchflo 3D roms but does show the name in the call log.
For people who don't know, Name Display is a feature in Canada that allows the name of the person to show on your screen even if they are not listed in your phonebook. Please keep in mind you have to subscribed to this feature.
I've never made a cab or anything like this before. I did it with alot of searching on xda and google. Luckily most of the work was already done by the guys over at the raphael and diamond forums. So thanks alot to them.
So try out the cab!
Make sure you install SDCERTS first!!!!!
Hi sundeep,
I installed your CAB file on my Generic X1i R3AA010 ROM. Name Display does work now, however with S2U2 enabled, I don't see the name of the caller. I'm sure this is a limitation with S2U2. I will try to send A_C a message to see if he can figure out how to enable it in S2U2, but if anyone else has any ideas, please let us know.
I also noticed that you incorporated the TrustTimeZoneField fix for the incoming SMS wrong time issue.
Thanks for packaging this up!
It might be an issue with how the visual aspects of s2u2 are aligned. For the new touchflo dialer, it doesn't show either but when you replace the dialer .png file with one from the vga dialer, it works perfectly.
Hey sundeep01,
could you link to the dialer .png file from the vga dialer?
Thanks
Sorry, i dont have that file anymore. It's not worth it anyway, it doesn't fit the screen fully and since its the only thing changed in the dialer it throws off everything else and the slider doesn't work.
Thx for the cab, I installed it and it works! However, I have the same problem with the new dialer not showing the name. It does show up in the call log so I know it works.
Anyone found a solution yet?
Ok this is really annoying! Evertyhing works except the incoming call, it just doesn't display the name! There must be a solution out there somewhere...
Hey folks, I've been using Name Display on my XPERIA for a while now. Christian has even cooked it into one of his ROMS!
Before that I used the Rogers Name Display cab from the Diamond. It's located somewhere on this forum and it works great. I do not seem to have the issue that you guys are having with the dialer (using the default dialer)
Thank you for this man! It works excellent!
thanks,
hope it will work
try.. it...

[Q] OKTA Touch and WM6.5

I have an OKTA Touch (CDMA HTC Vogue branded as Okta Touch) running WM6.1 and am considering upgrade to WM6.5 using NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL ROM.
Any caveats or pitfalls?
NB: the version of NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL ROM that I downloaded is missing README.DOC.
Would be grateful for any info.
Thanks in advance.
I would recommend using my XevRev rom over NFSFAN. The main reason I say that is simple: Stability. NFSFAN's rom is older and crashes (quiet a bit in my experience).
I am currently working on my 1.0 final release, if you'd like, I could compile a rom for your carrier. Would that happen be Telecom NZ? I'm hoping to have 1.0 finished no later then this Monday (Feb 17). It wouldn't be much trouble to compile it for another carrier.
Just respond here and I'll get back to you.

I have in fact done the upgrade and so far have had no problems, although I was disappointed to find that the WAV restriction on alarms still remains and that the files have to be in the Windows folder. Also found that sounds for notifications are not picked up from the Ringtones folder as they were in the version of WM6.1 that I had, instead they have to be put in Sounds or in Windows.
My carrier is indeed Telecom NZ.
Is a carrier specific rom really necessary?
Will happily try your version so long as I can fall back easily to what I have in the event of problems.

Yeah a Carrier specific ROM would be beneficial as each different carrier has it's own different setups like whether or not your can send MMS (picture messages), can use data, gps, wifi that sort of thing.
The OKTA ROM is basically the same as the Sprint ROM just with the GPS functionality disabled, MMS disabled and a few other options either enabled or disabled
NFSFAN's rom was fast and stable. Pity he moved on to bigger and brighter things!.
If you want to use XevRev's rom, use the Bell version and run the Telecom carrier cab (posted somewhere in the XDA Touch forums).
I found Bell to be a better fit than Sprint - Sprint messed about with the data connection, causing it to get very messy trying to set it up forTelecom.

There appear to be 2 versions, 28014 and 21889, what is the difference and which is best for OKTA?
I know Xev really prefers 21889 for compatability and speed. He also finds it to be very stable. When stability was the only thing I was worried about, I developed NuVogue using 28014 but TheXev was right, 21889 really is the way to go - so many more things seem to work with it (Swype, HTC Touch Keyboard, lots of little things just work better!).

I have uploaded it to my website. You can download the NZ Telecome Carrier CAB here:
http://winbreak.com/winmo/voguegoodies/ - at the bottom of the carrier CABs list.

Thread moved to General.
BTW, remember to unlock your device before flashing.
Is the sequence in which ROM and CAB are applied vital?
I assume ROM first and then run CAB.
Extremely vital. Flash the ROM using egzthunder's step by step guide, then apply the carrier CAB. No carrier CAB and your data, sms, and sometimes even phone calls won't work.
