[Q] OKTA Touch and WM6.5 - Touch CDMA General

I have an OKTA Touch (CDMA HTC Vogue branded as Okta Touch) running WM6.1 and am considering upgrade to WM6.5 using NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL ROM.
Any caveats or pitfalls?
NB: the version of NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL ROM that I downloaded is missing README.DOC.
Would be grateful for any info.
Thanks in advance.

I would recommend using my XevRev rom over NFSFAN. The main reason I say that is simple: Stability. NFSFAN's rom is older and crashes (quiet a bit in my experience).
I am currently working on my 1.0 final release, if you'd like, I could compile a rom for your carrier. Would that happen be Telecom NZ? I'm hoping to have 1.0 finished no later then this Monday (Feb 17). It wouldn't be much trouble to compile it for another carrier.
Just respond here and I'll get back to you.

I have in fact done the upgrade and so far have had no problems, although I was disappointed to find that the WAV restriction on alarms still remains and that the files have to be in the Windows folder. Also found that sounds for notifications are not picked up from the Ringtones folder as they were in the version of WM6.1 that I had, instead they have to be put in Sounds or in Windows.
My carrier is indeed Telecom NZ.
Is a carrier specific rom really necessary?
Will happily try your version so long as I can fall back easily to what I have in the event of problems.

Yeah a Carrier specific ROM would be beneficial as each different carrier has it's own different setups like whether or not your can send MMS (picture messages), can use data, gps, wifi that sort of thing.
The OKTA ROM is basically the same as the Sprint ROM just with the GPS functionality disabled, MMS disabled and a few other options either enabled or disabled

NFSFAN's rom was fast and stable. Pity he moved on to bigger and brighter things!.
If you want to use XevRev's rom, use the Bell version and run the Telecom carrier cab (posted somewhere in the XDA Touch forums).
I found Bell to be a better fit than Sprint - Sprint messed about with the data connection, causing it to get very messy trying to set it up forTelecom.

There appear to be 2 versions, 28014 and 21889, what is the difference and which is best for OKTA?

I know Xev really prefers 21889 for compatability and speed. He also finds it to be very stable. When stability was the only thing I was worried about, I developed NuVogue using 28014 but TheXev was right, 21889 really is the way to go - so many more things seem to work with it (Swype, HTC Touch Keyboard, lots of little things just work better!).

I have uploaded it to my website. You can download the NZ Telecome Carrier CAB here:
http://winbreak.com/winmo/voguegoodies/ - at the bottom of the carrier CABs list.

Thread moved to General.
BTW, remember to unlock your device before flashing.

Is the sequence in which ROM and CAB are applied vital?
I assume ROM first and then run CAB.

Extremely vital. Flash the ROM using egzthunder's step by step guide, then apply the carrier CAB. No carrier CAB and your data, sms, and sometimes even phone calls won't work.

Seeking advice! Japanese Softbank X01HT, WM5 --> WM6. Japanese input is a must.

I currently live in Japan and own a Hermes Softbank X01HT.
Rom Version: 1.33.761.5
Rom Date: 11/10/2006
Radio Version: 1.14.01.10
Protocol Version: 32.50.7018.00H
I bought it in August, and was disappointed with the sluggishness of WM5 from the very beginning. I spent weeks trying to find a Japanese WM6 rom, but only the various European ones had been released so I decided to wait a while. I recently noticed that the newer model is out over here (the Toshiba X01T I think) and it has WM6 on it, so I thought that maybe Softbank had released an upgrade for current X01HT owners. Obviously not the case.
So I spent hours yesterday and today searching through 100s of pages of forum posts, trying to take in all the information I could before posting. From what I have read, the best ROMs available seem to be the cooked ones, and interest me most because of comments like "this ROM is really fast!!" However, they are always based on the English, or some other non-japanese rom. Japanese input is a must for me, so I cant just switch to an english rom and call it day. I can read Japanese, so I dont necessarily need the OS in english, but as a native english speaker, I wouldnt mind. It seems I have 2 options.
1. Stick with the lame WM5, and install the english MUI by Asukal. This gives me english menu, folders, etc, but doesnt solve the issue of having a sluggish OS. So this isnt really a fix for me at all.
2. Upgrade to a cooked english Rom (such as the really nice looking Schaps_WM6Pro_Hermes_4.30_WWE_Full.exe) and then try to get the LetsJapan06 and IME31J_QVGA by Asukal working. (It seems that in doing that, I lose the ability to write in kanji characters on the touchscreen, which is a huge loss for me, but I guess I could give it up if it meant I could have a much faster WM6 running on my phone)
My biggest concern with switching to the cooked rom, besides the obvious warranty voiding, is the ability to re-setup the settings (account and connection) with Softbank. All I could find in my forum searching were things about some prepaid softbank thing you could setup. I have a 2 year contract with softbank, so i cant just switch to some other plan. Is this what the LetsJapan06 takes care of?
I am hoping someone can give me a detailed (or at least to the point) response on what my options actually are. Am I screwed in dealing with a lame WM5 for the next year and half? Or can I actually upgrade to a nice ROM, official or cooked, and still have Japanese input and no issues with my Softbank account/connection.
I hope that in getting some helpful responses, this post will give some answers to others out there like me who have spent hours reading through posts about the great european cooked roms, but cant seem to find much information on japanese (asian) versions. Maybe there are Japanese sites out there like this one, with cooked roms based on the Japanese OS rom, but hey, my Japanese isnt that good!
Thanks to all who actually spent the time reading this massive post. I'll be checking back frequently.

I'm using 'Effy' by Time Space System. It may be one of your solutions though you should pay for it
Please take a look http://www.timespace21.com
Free Japanese Input
Try this, works fine for me. And it is free.
http://ookii.org/software/japaneseinput/
Thanks for the info on Japanese Input systems. I personally use EBPocket on my phone, but im sure the Japanese Input software is compatible with it just as with Pocket Dictionary. (Anyone have any opinions about whether "Japanese Input" is better/worse than Asukal's IME?)
Hopefully someone can still address my bigger concerns. Am I going to have problems connecting to the Softbank service if I switch to an English Rom? If so, does Asukal's "LetsJapan06" fix this? I have read that it "localizes" the OS, but I didnt come across many details as to what that actually means.
There aren't many Japanese ROMs available, at least on this site, so switching back to WM5 could be a bit difficult. Upgrading to WM6 is almost a one way street, so I dont want to attempt it until I am absolutely sure I wont have any issues connecting to the softbank service.
This is for you.

I see light at the end of the tunnel!
That may just be the answer to my prayers!
I've downloaded the exe, but havent had time to mess with it yet. The download from the rapidshare server took a really long time. I did search around a bit to see if there was a newer version than the 4.00 roms(a japanese version of the newest 4.30 roms) but i didnt come across one.
If i install the bootloader, and then the ROM, my phone should work fine with the softbank service correct? no need for letsjapan06 or any japanese input system.
I still have to download and install the bootloader, which apparently may involve some SIM and/or CID (or some acronym(s) i cant remember at the moment) unlocking. I will need to look through the hermes wiki again.
As for the radio version, it seems like most people running the japanese rom are still using 1.14.01.10. Is there a reason for this? Why not run the newer radio versions?
coolboyboy, are you personally using this rom, that you can give me an opinion on it? Or were you just nice enough to find that for me? (if so, is there someone out there who can give me an opinion on it?)
yes, I am currently using this rom, anything is configured for Softbank. you can read the following pages to get more idea how to upgrade it. Please remember to install the IPL V7 first and super CID your device.

im using schaps 4.30 rom and have no problem inputing kanji from the touchscreen.
Have you set your keyboard to japanese in the advanced configuration?
do that and use Asukal Lets Japan No,5 and Ask IME_31J
I hate to be persistent, but I still owe about $500 on my phone. Cant afford a brick
To HungryHippo:
I am still running the original (Japanese) factory WM5 Rom, so I cant really answer your question about changing my keyboard. However, Ive just mainly been worried about having problems connecting to Softbank when running an English ROM, because I saw all the posts about the flat-rate plan for softbank. I figured that there must be some kinda problems after flashing a cooked Rom. However, I see that you are located in Osaka and are running the 4.3 schaps English Rom, so I guess there are no problems? Or are there problems initially, and thats what LetsJapan05/06 is for?
To coolboyboy (or HungryHippo or anyone else who knows the answer):
You said "anything is configured for softbank" Do you mean that even the hermes running on a a non-Japanese Rom connects up with softbank without any problems or add-ons right from the start?
almost everything you need to know (from my own experience)
Mate I have been using WM6 (various cooked versions, all in English) since a week after I originally got my Softbank (Post-April) phone. I am living in Japan and have it configured for Japanese input, MMS, etc, and all works well.
First flash your favorite rom. What I did was to get the original Japanese wm5 rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285183
Then unpack it with winrar or something (using windows xp) and rename the rom file (or move it somewhere else). replace it with your favorite wm6 rom (rom only, not radio!) and flash your device. make sure you have activesync installed first and your device is connected.
Now install the following to make give you Japanese input/localisation/keyboard mapping/softbank connection etc.
Note: all of the following get installed on your device, not on external memory.
get hold of: IME_311_QVGA: http://asukal.net/blog/?p=96
(to give you Japanese input, including writing on the screen)
and LetsJapanNo6: http://asukal.net/blog/?p=364 (which localizes your pda to Japan).
Install both of these and soft-reset.
As for softbank internet settings, go to this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298031&highlight=softbank+connection
Follow the instructions and install.
For MMS: get mmslite775 (post 31) from the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325285&page=4
Note before installing MMSlite, get rid of anything arcsoft from the registry (using the hopefully built in registry editor of your new wm6 rom).
Kill the following key: hkey_local_machine/software/arcsoft
THEN install msslite.
For keyboard, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315998&highlight=softbank
There you go man! All should work. Now, I take no responsibility for the above, and of course invite you to do some reading, especially on the rom flashing part. Note, you can't unlock your X01ht, so don't even bother! You will just "brick" it.
P.S I am currently using the excellent K's Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350695
samurai-me san's cooked roms are awesome and fast and also contain numerous Japanese carrier related apps that you may need being in Japan. I'm currently using Shogun Climax V3... no worries either about mapping keyboards or installing language packs or mms apps etc.

In terms of softbank internet settings, I suggest HTC network wizard. I am using it and very satified.
If you need only MMS, you do not need to install HTC network wizard or something like that.
MMS lite has its own softbank connection settings.
Yeah, except those are the old settings and you can't access the "all you can eat internet" softbank package with them. (supposing you sign up for it). Of course, you can still use the settings I linked to for normal access as well... Anyway, it is probably better to avoid using old settings if possible.

This is the way to go!
I started with Asukal's Japanese to English but not all the features of the phone were working. What I really needed was an english phone with support for Japanese text and still connect to the softbank system and its' features.
After having my phone for only 3 days, I nervously took a chance to the point of no return. I then loaded Schap's 4.30 plus the ROM patch. Total English phone. Not returning was fine by me with all the features of Schap's 4.30. Only problems were the problem, video and MMS issues with Softbank. 3GPandorablackdailpad solved the video issue.(waiting for Schap's patch for this bug)
For all the features of my X01HT to work completely this is what I added.
--Lets Japan No5
--Ask IME 31J
--MMSlite
--Transcribe Build 17743 (Sweeeeeet)
All this by reading the posts, losing a lil sleep and seriously test all the features of my phone to make sure things worked.
Everything is working and loaded without noooo problems.
btw, make sure you put you keyboard layout to english. If the layout is in Japanese or else when you go to advanced settings or other system files it will appear in Japanese text.
Xbow ROM for X01HT?
I am living in London and have installed the Xbow WM6.1 ROM in Japanese onto an X01HT for a Japanese friend here, and it seems to be working pretty well. I am curious why noone seemed to mention it in this thread, and am wondering if anyone has compared it to Japanese WM6.1 ROM Samurai-CLIMAX by Samurai-me mentioned here. More info on Xbow here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302785.
In the meantime, I am going to read this thread to see how I can get Japanese input on my Athena so that I can use EBPocket.
Need original WM5 Japanese Version
S O S
Hi, all
My Hermes' touch screen is dead. I returned it to softbank to get it fixed, but it was sent back to me from the manufacturer. The manufacturer report says that it is because I changed the ROM. Yes I did. You can read part of history of ROMs I ever tried.
Now, I need to reinstall the original WM5 Japanese version as I got it for the first time. I tried to find the ROM in the CD but there is nothing except ms office.
Does anyone have WM5 Japanese version, so I can download it and install it to my hermes?
I heard it that I have to modified the nbh file since I installed HardSPL already? How to modify nbh file?
Thanks in advance..

will probable be a noob question

hey ppl
got myself a HTC Diamond touch a few weeks ago and so far i love the fone am in Australia so i had to buy the telstra one its unlocked but still has the telstra pre loaded stuff.
i am a vodafone user and have got the VF MMS and internet working
not interested in a cooked rom yet.
but here is my questions.
how do i use the iphone theme on this rom?
cant find manila folder, is it hidden if so how do i make it un hidden.
aslo in botom left corner it has bigpond link on the bar how can i change this to say contacts or even messages?
cheers guys
i did try using search but couldnt find a clear cut answer, think it came down to the words i am using to search.
oh well anyone with help thanks.
Which iphone theme to you mean?
There is no folder for the manila files, they are all in the Windows folder. If the theme has just these manila files, you need to use a program like total commander to copy the files from the theme's folder, straight into the windows folder, overwriting everything.
then soft re-set, and you should be all good.
If it is a .theme file, then you need to download TF3D Config, save the .theme file to a folder on the phone, and then point the program to the folder. Then, the program will do it all for you, and its easy to change back if you need to.
Hope that helps!
Hi mate,
As above for changing your themes.
The only other extra note to add to that is the simplicity of cabs. Just run the file and it will install for you.
I did the hard work for you:
If you want an iPhone style theme - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425956&highlight=iphone+icons
Alternative small round iPhone - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437100&highlight=iphone+icons
And lastly for the Bigpond softkey, you want this program - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2485292#post2485292
Grab the .cab file.
I also strongly suggest a cooked ROM. Once you get rid of that Tel**** ROM you won't look back
Cheers,
Byron.
Hey Uziel,
What did you have to do to get mms and internet working? I have similar issue but I am with virginmobile. Haven't been able to get mms or internet working yet. Not sure if it is some telstra settings stuffing the connection up.
Just a general question that you suggested dickenz. What cooked ROM would you suggest for us with Tel**** ROM's?
Cheers

Hi biggirdz,
For the virginmobile settings - My suggestion is to give Virgin a call and tell them you have a Windows Mobile 6.1 device (don't state it's a Diamond as they don't have Touch Diamonds yet I don't think and they might turn you away as it is 'unsupported') and tell them you want to set up MMS and internet.
EDIT: Just had a thought. If you have a Telstra Diamond with a Virgin SIM I think you'll need to create a completely secondary connection. Again, Virgin ***SHOULD*** be able to run you through this over the phone. Maybe even go on their website and see which Windows mobile devices they do have and tell them it's one of those so you get the settings out of them you want.
I'd go for Panosha 2.4 if you want a 'finished' ROM. But if you don't mind one in the testing phase dutty's is excellent aswell.
I am currently using udK's but he has only had 2 releases so far. However I am very impressed. There are a few bugs but I am sure udK will iron them out in future releases.

Thanks for that. I will see what I can do over the weekend.

Attention UK Vodafone Users - New TF3D2.1 in Black (OEM)

I think like the rest of you, we just don't know when or if Vodafone will release 6.5 for our TP2's.
Therefore, carrying on from my other thread where I was prepared to pay £100 to someone who could sort out a cab file for the OEM Manila 2.1 for my phone, I have sorted this out myself.
I won't go into great detail, but suffice to say that it took me all weekend to go through what files were needed and what wasn't.
So with out further a do, attached is my effort. Be aware, it is 33.9mb uncompressed. I suggest that you hard reset your device before installing this although not necessary. I would also suggest that you do not let the device go into sleep mode, un-check all the options in the battery power saving. It takes a good 10 minutes to install as there are 2236 files.
This version is 2.1 and includes the facebook integration, which does work. The cities on the weather tab are the standard, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Edinburgh. I have also included the Slide to wake mode for the hardware keyboard.
I have also included HTC's standard black *.tsk file so that if you want, all the icon selection colours will be green. I have left these alone on the vodafone tsk as I don't mind the blue.
The comm manager switches are now the correct colour highlight focus, all "buttons" are green with the exception of the active sync connection page which is the original black.
Go HERE to download
Hey Allen... I went to the Voda store yesterday and the kind lady told me that 6.5 should be releasing by next month of not within this month!
Not much of a specific date but hey atleast they are releasing the new versions pretty quick! Hopefully they have not bothered to tweak it with their Red themes!

Effectively yes. I extracted all the files from the latest WWE ROM which contained Manila 2.1 like ours.
Hopefully I will be able to do this with 2.5 but it depends how VF have bastardised it.

RUU_Rhodium_Vodafone_UK_1.14.161.6_R1_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe
They also list the following ROM 5.10.161.1 - allegedly for VF UK but my serial number doesn't work for that.
This is from Vodafone Turkey.....so I think the UK will get the same rubbish !!!
I think the Vodafone people are color blind why on earth is it red...YUK YUK and YUK !!!
here is the link !!

The first one is just the one VF posted on their site around a month earlier, exact same. The bottom one is for a Touch Pro?
Can this manila 2.1 work on say... an at&t tilt 2 (touch pro 2) And does it include the weather clock?
i'm really not seeing why you wouldnt just HARDspl and flash a stock or cooked rom from one of the mithelin star chefs on here.

It should work, but it may not work correctly as this was made specifically for the vodafone ROM.

Because it's not something that I wanted to do, "horses for courses". Besides, it has given me an insight as to how it all bolts together. It also gives anyone else who doesn't want to change ROM's an alternative to the VF rubbish.

That is horrendous!
i have to agree with drawflex, just HARDspl and use a new ROM, ive done this for the first time today and belive me a whole lot better than messing with this or that file, i have faith in you..lol
is there anyway i can just get the slider out of this?

T-Mobile stock ROM is 100% trash, looking for a new one !

Well guys, after a couple weeks with the stock TMOBILE rom I conclude that it's just USELESS.
I can't even use the phone... It's getting stuck when I'm trying to call someone, stuck when viewing images, stuck stuck stuck, at least 5 times a day.
Plus a million SOD's a day... I tried everything, from losing all apps, to modifying the registry.
I NEED A NEW ROM
But there are so many over there, I do not know what to choose.
I need:
1. As little visual tweaks as possible, i'd like to take care of that myself (CHT Cooked in is fine though)
2. Maximum system stability and performance, I DON'T WANT HANGS FROM SIMPLE OPERATIONS SUCH AS CALLING SOMEONE
3. No bloatware
4. Not much bugs (ie good support, constantly worked on, not a 1 time "job" )
Basically If it can resemble the stock one, but with more stability, tweaks and performance boosts, then i'm happy.
I have the sticky flashing manual in hand, so all I need is a recommendation.
Looking forward to flashing this thing today, thank you very much XDA.
Energy ROM Cookie's Reference ROM
this is a custom rom close to stock as you're going to get, please make sure you read loads before flashing.

Or the standard sense reference or full. I recommend using the 23569 builds as well. more finger friendly and slightly quicker. Also there is an advantage with the full version in that if you wish to update the rom in future you can backup your settings using the energy settings exporter and then reimport them.
regarding the builds mentioned - can you expand ? links ?
thanks !
Exporter sounds GREAT.
Basically there are two builds of almost all the custom roms. One build will be the latest 6.5 build (21907, same WM version as the stock roms but with some bug fixes) then there is the 23569 (or higher) builds. These are WM 6.5.5. Some big changes here to the way the start menu works and also to the UI to make it more finger friendly. It's also a little quicker than WM 6.5 but (apparently. i've not found any yet) more buggy then WM 6.5. Also as i said (and i've now checked this) custom roms also include newer, less buggy, versions of sense (AKA manilla)
I suggest EnergyROM
Great, I think I will go for Energy.Leo.23569.Sense2.5.Cookie.Reference.Jun.26.7z
Is that OK for me ? (well, is it better than what i have now )
Is there a settings exporter in Energy.Leo.21907 ?
If you have the T-Mobile US HD2, make sure you use the right radio for your device.
That would do nicely although i don't know if it includes the exporter tool. You may want to look at the full cht version.
Good point about the radio. I have a UK version so i can use whatever i want. The right radio roms for the TMOUS devices have verison numbers that look like this: 2.xx.50.xx. the 50 bit is important as radios with the 50 in it have the unlock code for the extra ram in them and are compatible with the 1024MB rom chips. Also never ever use a radio with a version number like this: 2.xx.51.xx. The 51 radios will brick your phone and they can not be recovered as far as i am aware.
And yes afaik there is a setting exporter in the WM 6.5 builds
My radio is 2.10.50.26
Is that OK ?
Just how much faster is the 6.5.5 over the regular one ? I'm not liking that lower start button anyway so if it's not really faster i'll pass.
Looks kinda like an iPhone.. Less " serious "
m3ph - what ROM have you had in mind with the Exporter build in and the upper start button and CHT ?
I thank you for all the help... I am feeling positive about my HD2 again.. Can't wait to flash it !
Just making sure I get everything right about all the different Energies so I don't reflash and reflash a thousand times... Making a concious decision

the radio will be fine.
The difference in speed is not massive so i wouldn't worry about it.
The rom i'm thinking of will be at this link: http://hotfile.com/dl/50755734/bde591c/Energy.Leo.21907.Sense2.5.Cookie.Jun.26.Take2.7z.html
Sorry if i'm being a little slow. i'm trying to eat my din, while texting the mrs, getting nfs world beta to work and figure out why sense will not show around 3500 of my messages and thinks my sister is my best mate
Deal, I will burn that ROM then, in the 21907 version and settle down.
Does it have the exporter for future upgrades ?
Looks like i'm fixed then ! Thanks ! What version is the faulty Sense that thinks your sister is your best mate ? hahah
Sorry to hear that... my stock ROM still works fine... I did not even update it yet - this one was right from the get-go
Well, I'm on Energy CHT now and IT'S A DIFFERENT PHONE !
WOW.
Thanks guys. You saved my phone and my money !
Now install chainfires 3D driver patch v2 on it and leocpuspeed v4 you'll be shocked.
Wooo Hoo ! This phone is ON FIRE now
Now we're talking !!
Thanks man ! Any more tips ? hehe
What a coincidence. I'm also having lots of problems with my TMobile UK Rom, same freezing, etc.
I have seen quite a few Roms that I'd be interested, but most of them don't mention whether they will work with a locked T-Mobile handset, and if they do, it only refers to TMobile US version.
Will any Rom work on a T-Mobile UK locked handset, or would I also have to flash a new radio. I have 2.07.50 at the moment.
Like I said, I've seen quite a few Roms that I like, but just concerned in case I flash a Rom that's not compatible.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

if you have a wifi router in your house get wifi remote access. It allows you to transfer files to and from the phone using a web interface over the wifi. It also allows you to edit the registry "remotely". Really handy little tool that.
Also have a look at omarket. some handy tools can be got from there but be careful not everything is Leo compatible.
Coreplayer is handy if you wanna watch tv shows or movies. just set the video mode to raw frambuffer if the picture looks scrambled. This one isn't free but is definitely worth paying for coz tcpmp (it's free cousin) isn't as good. I also use srs WOWHD with this to improve the sound. look for 1.5 V2.
The only more i can say is use a PIM backup tool regularly. something like MS myphone or PIMBackup. Saves some time if you don't have an exchange server to store you contacts, mail etc

My advice to you would be to stick to a rom that says it is tmous compatible. that way it will work on any leo but the phone will still be sim locked. so if you wanted to sim unlock it you would need to get an unlock code from TMOUK

New T-Mobile HTC HD2 but which Rom?

Hello,
I'm finally buying the HD2 that I should of bought when i got my nokia N97.
It's the T-Mobile flavor by design as i intend to use it on iWireless 3g which is an affiliate and uses the same 1700/2100 3g.
I intend to unlock it via code and then plan to unbrand it via firmware and via facia replacement.
I'm looking for the latest unbranded/streamlined/stable T-Mobile USA rom that is out??
suggestions???
also, will i need to replace the boot splash or is that included in the rom?
Thank you
main suggestion is go to the tmous (t mo us) specific section and look there.
less risk of flashing the wrong thing.

The U.S. HD2 has smaller physical dimensions than international HD2s.
well the front facia is specifically for T-mobile hd2(but unbranded) so i still fail to see the problem..
I unlocked it, hspl3, and flashed 3 diff roms so far.
kumar, energy and now laurentius v4 which im extremely happy with.
So basically a done deal.
unlocked, debranded, and now using iwireless 3g 1700/2100
within an hour of receiving it thanks to this website.
So whats up with the screen position??
my n97 changes the orientation as i turn the phone from up to landscape and back..the hd2 seems to only do this in certain apps and menu items?
is this a hardware issue or win mobile?
I guess im just a little confused about this..

The screen rotation is only enabled in certain apps, yes. The easiest way to enable it in a program that doesn't have it already, is to download and install BSB tweaks, which has an option to let you asign auto-rotation abilities to virtually any program that you can install on your device.
Thank you.
and btw..
I found this rom to be very nice
HD3.0 UnOff Series 21914
so far is my fav.

New Question
Ok,
Things are going great...love the phone. blows away the N97 in most regards...
I Really like it.
MMS & WAP all configured on the phone which is running "unlimited - 3G Talk Text Data" Pay In Advance with iWireless(T-Mobile affiliate)...3G working Great..etc..
The Question I have now is can i run a T-Mobile Rom and enter my own mms settings? or will it just default to the locked down tmobile mms setting on the stock rom? Is there a new version of a connection wizard-tool-setup that has Iwireless prepaid and actually will work with a T-Mobile Rom?
I'm using the cracing Rom at the moment and really like it but I also like the idea of using the stock T-Mobile roms...even though iWireless is a T-Mobile affiliate they do not share the same mms settings...
LIL HELP?
is there a config tool to do this for me or a reg hack?
my current rom has a great "Connection Setup" app which works great..
I'm beginning to ramble so i will just leave it at that and I hope someone Can help with this...I presume someone else has been in this situation..??
the connection app you refer to is 'connectionsetup' which all roms except tmous have as standard.
Do a search for connectionsetup.cab, its available in several threads. Plus, since its a cab install, you can install it, it runs automatically at restart, sets up your connection, then you can uninstall it, saving 12meg.
yup, i found like 6 of them and found a couple that work quite well.
I have a new question...I'm having problems with icons being jagged on apps that are installed after the flash...
Is there an icon rebuild app or something to remedy this?
rebooting doesnt fix it..
its driving me nuts..
I have a nice looking list of apps etc and then these straglers that look oddly out of place due to their resolution...
there is i think an icon cache which you can clear, but ive never dealt with it so dont know where it is. Look in the hints and tips threasd maybe.
