Hello,
I've been looking around at all the roms etc and their change logs. They look like big improvements, so I updated to CM stable (worked fine, a little bit slow now and then) now I'm using the latest one which is meant to be the fastest but I find it hangs a lot, and is slow quite often.
Is anyone seeing this or is it just my phone.
I also have a question, when I shake my phone I can hear this ratteling sound, is that normal? my phone isn't new

Well I bought it used, and I only hear it sometimes like if i move it in a certain direction then it stops.

and i do have lots of friends made over . esp from playing sports. and i just got back from ufc 103 party hosted by lacrosse team member. just saying. maybe u need to brush up on things...and look at ur thread post...u posted a lot of useless threads.
In his defense it's pretty much common sense that if something is rattling when it didn't used to rattle it's most like not a good thing.

To the OP: You might wanna try wiping your phone and maybe repartitioning your SD, see if any apk's your using have known conflicts with Cyan roms. Can you tell where the rattling is coming from? Also your phone is still under HTC warranty so you might be able to get them to fix it, just gotta pay shipping. Also if your on tmobile they might even do it for you for free.

actually like one person said. its common sense to think something is wrong if something didnt rattle before but rattles now. so therefore it was a stupid question.

I agree both ways. Yea it is pretty obvious it shouldn't rattle, but you could have said it to him in a more polite manner, but if it was me I would of prolly posted a really degrading image or something.

I hate to write this but its getting beyond a joke these days. Every "chef" out to make a $ by releasing their "customised" work of original HTC roms, you get some crazy satisfaction about your ROM's being on others devices. Those base ROM's should be freely available to ALL users, not locked away and not being released straight away to make sure you have the "edge". Sure you have contacts in HTC that give you the ROM's before anyone else, ****, who cares. It will get out one way or another, why not publicly post it for everyone to get access to it? You all know who you are and its pathetic, I'm sure most of you have real jobs out there and if you don't, jesus, get one.
Sure "chefs" might modify some DLL's to get "better" performance but even then, its not your IP, its HTC's/Microsoft etc etc.
At the end of the day, we're all a community who support each other, so why bite the hand that feeds you?
Without commenting on your remarks, I'd be more interested to hear from someone what is new in 1.66 and 2.06, how they relate to each other comment what the differences are.

That's the thing, if it was public like it should be, everyone else would know. But it has mainly updated apps (Compass, Album, Camera etc etc), but still requires the SMS Fix.
I really don't think there's a need for such accusations and hostility. The last time this happened (over the whole Rhodium/Topaz leak fiasco) it ended with a lot of bad blood and several good chefs refusing to cook for the xda community anymore!
There are already several cooks working with the new 1.66 base. Have you personaly been denied access to the sources?
Please lets not see a repeat of last years silliness. It was not good for this great community.

I'm simply saying that this has happened before, hermes days, where certain people like to hold things back from the community. All it takes is to post a single link to the source.
Honestly mate, I wouldn't stress. It appears the 1.66 build has just been leaked today and I'm willing to bet that before you know it a stock rom will be available to all. You can't blame those that got hold of it first trying to integrate it quickly into their roms. Flashing has become quite the sport these days Have you tried asked any of the cooks using it, what their source is?

1.66 has been available since the 8th of Jan, and certain people have had it since then. Now I'm not naming names, I just find it pathetic they don't release it.
No I don't blame them for trying to get there first, but its not a race here people, its a community place where we're supposed to help the community.
Whilst I agree with some of the points there is no need for this thread, you should be greatful that what you get doesnt actually cost a cent and believe me if a chef was to live off donations they'd all be dead by now Show a little respect!

Not really no, but it doesn't bother me where their source is, just annoyed they haven't shared the "fruit" with the rest of the community, I'm trying to make it more transparent here. The more people with access to it the better!

Well I understand the OP frustration but I usually just try to ignore it. There has been some of this going on in the recent past where someone gets a build and they share it only with about 4 certain other people with instructions not to share to anyone else. All the while these four or five people release ROM's with the new build while everyone else has to wait. I can't blame the guys it is given to as I'm sure they are glad to be getting it. The point is it makes it look really privatizing that the same 4-5 people always have the new stuff before others.
But as always it will surface before too long. But it may take a week as the others have not released their ROM with it yet.

And people like you are reasons why other devs dont like to help us out. Give credit, and most of the time, they allow. I used 5 diff devs stuff in my release. Got permission from all of them. They said, thanks for asking. Thats all it takes. Its called respect. And working together.
EDIT: XDA must have thought he was bad since they banned him, but he is now back again.

alright look, im not fighting for him only stating that this is a forum dedicated to doing things your told you can't, correct? i don't agree with the fact that hes not giving credit to other devs or posting links back to original files. trust me i understand how having things stolen feels. but in his defense mabey speaking with him instead of accusing might be a good idea. Apple is suing GOOGLE for stealing ideas. honestly our phones seem to have been built around stolen ideas,

Thanks for giving credit to decadeance. Just FYI for anyone else that might be wondering, using the work of others without giving due credit IS against the rules of XDA-Developers.
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

Since this was resolved in a matter of which did not require a moderators attention then no warnings will be issued since it seems to have been an honest mistake. It is true that this is OPEN SOURCE however that does not mean that you can claim rights to another developers work. We are striving to aid others in achieving more with the community but a house divided against itself cannot stand. Work together, treat each other with respect, resolve issues/problems/differences via private messages whenever possible to keep the forum from getting out of hand and always remember to follow the rules.

open source does not mean you can go taking others people work and passing it off as your own... but I guess since you did one a2sd script that everyone used you feel it was right to take 95% of another rom and relabel it your own?
A simple credit would of taken care of this whole mess and kept everyone of your threads from being locked. It's not hard to tell others that YOU did not do everything in YOUR rom, but you choose to say you don't work with team douche but you sure are quick to take from them..
Let's make sure we are comparing apples to apples here King..

Heck, Klick hasn't even been formally notified by the XDA staff as to why his threads are locked, never mind a formal accusation. Yet it seems the community has already made it's decision, with pitchforks and torches in hand.
I'm sorry, but what a crock! If any of you were accused of an offense, i'm sure you'd all want the benefit of the doubt, and a fair hearing before being tarred and feathered!
I strongly encourage the XDA staff to contact Klick directly in regards to this issue, and to make a public statement. Anything less constitutes a witchhunt, and I for one do not want to sit idly by and watch that unfold!

i did post a comment on your thread asking you to pm me but you never did and i got impatient and hyped up about things and i just rushed things and posted finished stable builds of your rom without your permission thinking things would be okay if i emphisized 3x on the thread i didn't do anything but finish your rom all credit goes to you for all other work. but again i went about things the wrong way i wasn't trying to take full credit for your rom i thought i made that clear in the first post but i guess saying it 3x still isn't the right way to go about things, glad to see we're working things out (btw everyone check out the title of his thread now ) for the better now bro! so i'd like to say this publicly, SORRY FOR USING YOUR ROM WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION LIQUID! "help" would have been PMing me what you tried to do, I could test it, and if it works, the links would get posted on the ORIGINAL thread with full credit to you. I credit with permission every single person who has tested or fixed something for me with the ROM, and that would not have been any different.
Instead, without telling me, you copied my thread, put up a modified version of my ROM, and told me only AFTER the fact that you did so.
You have some INSANE issues with understanding permission and crediting, and as I understand it, this isn't your first time. It doesn't matter if you put my name in 72 BOLD pt in this thread, you never asked me and you posted a whole damn new thread for it. That's just not ok.
If you really want to be "omg super-hero dev", you need to start earning your fellow dev's respect, and right now, that's not working out for you.
If you're still interested in being credited for this, PM me with the download links, I'll check them out, and if they are ok, I'll put it in my original 2.1.1 thread with full credit to you. That's how it works.

no i asked to take down jasonmaloney's build and my build (two seperate things) b/c we both posted our build's on liquid's thread without his permission.....which was a big no no....but i made things worse by making a seperate thread....again sorry liquid. so there was no need to credit jasonmaloney, laie i know i messed up big time smh stupid move on my part

i said in my rom's thread that it was based of nfx rom and i gave him credit, i said what i did. i didn't do what i did with liquid's rom, two completely different things... il Duce ik i screwed up with this rom and again i won't be making any mess ups like this again (me = thinking before my actions from now on xda) sorry

My rom (I say that very loosely) is based on nfx, but only with full permission from nfinite and on popular request. Even further I credited (with permission ) anyone who helped in testing or debugging, and that is the proper thing to do.

Which means that it is my task and my right to put up the final update to my own ROM, not have someone else do it without even letting me know beforehand or asking me, and then posting my exact thread over again instead of PMing me the link to add it in the OP, and then telling me after the fact.
Kifno has already got in touch with me and we're working it out, you guys can relax now.

again we talked things out and i'm sorry bro. and yes i may just be improving others work (the espreeso 2.1 rom i posted) and changing things, i never took full credit actually most of it goes to nfx b/c everyday i wake up he has a pm in my inbox helping me out with the espresso 2.1 rom, it wouldn't be where it is at without his help. only thing i can take full credit for is my build.prop's thats the only thing i actually did from my own work as for the espresso 2.1 rom that was from the help of many other members on this site, i never took full credit for that rom. i use the term my rom, when i refer to the espresso 2.1 rom, b/c i changed it, not b/c i developed it from scratch and did everything to it on my own, i'm not a super-dev yet lol. i'm just improving other's work and learning along the way and giving them credit and asking permission along the way from now on until i know enough to make something of my own again (besides text files lol) that will be of great help to the community....but for now i'm focuses on improving my rom (AGAIN IT ISN'T COMPLETELY MY ROM MANY OTHERS HELPED ME ALONG THE WAY) and helping others with their work for the hero and problems....first person on the list....liquid!!!!!! (we're pming each other now folks working this out for the better so its alright)

You know what man, you're a smark kid, you just take things a bit fast.
You'll grow to understand what it means to command respect here, and I'm sure you'll earn it from everyone. This place is bursting with ideas and creativity, but just PM ROM devs in the future. Every ROM dev needs help, there's no denying that. Sometimes the help you have to offer isn't enough or isn't to their preference, but there's never any harm in PMing to find out.
As far as my ROM goes, with your help, we'll finish this up and finally put an end to all this over exaggerated madness.

Wow man great job kifno. It's tough to own up in the face of so many people watching this, you're really just a good person beyond the scope of these forums. I'm proud to call you a fellow human being. I've been watching this escalate and deescalate and I must say it's been a roller coaster ride. I must say some people have been a bit harsher than they should have, but it's understandable when looked at from a different perspective. Kudos to you again.

And I'm not a grammar freak lol I don't treat my post as essays I just type what comes to mind lol that's why my paragraph structure and grammar look bad on the forums just like this very long run on sentence but really constantly working, and school, and keeping 5 roms (mine and ls 4 builds) and my tweak up to date with fixes and new tweaks and optimizations is very time consuming and hard to fit all in one day lol but I just want to help the community and I plan on doing that the right way, LESSON LEARNED HERE, BTW look out for kifno & ls projects in the future
