Hello! Im running energy rom with windows mobile 6.5 and at the moment spb mobileshell. I've got this problem with my youtube-player. When I start it it just don't start but says:
"YouTube - Error. There is not enough free storagespace to run YouTube. Minimum free storage space required is 8MB."
I do have 15MB free space on my phone. 19MB free ram and 1.4GB free on the "storage card". So it shouldn't be a problem.
Please help me! why wont it start?

hi ppl
i have a funny symptom here with my mda2.
i have 60mb free storage on my device, 32mb on my "internal" memory card and 70mb on my sd-card.
when i try to install a small application with 236k into the internal memory it says "can't install - no free memory" (=free translation to english from my german rom).
i just can't see why that happens ....
any ideas?
regards ize|man
Go into settings, then system and memory.
Here you should have a slider in middle of screen?
Check that your program and storage memory are balanced appropriately. If not you may need to adjust these

Hello,
I've deleted lot's of stuff from a WM6 ROM and the Total Storage got lower.. Before it was somewhere at ~22MB with ~19MB free now (after I've delete ~10MB) it's at 19.93MB at 17.59MB.
What can I do to free up the ROM unused space?
I've used tadzio's ImgfsTools2rc2b.zip. The resulted nk.nbf is indeed smaller.. but it does not helps me with anything if the unused storage space is wasted
I've tried also the method from this thread (first post):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320166
.. the same result.
Can someone help?
Thank you
I have insufficient memory for when someone calls me my ringtone wont ring properly due to insufficient memory..

how do i free up program memory so everyone could run properly..
i installed all files to storage so it wouldnt be stored on phone but i think it still installs onto the phone itself..
is there any program to fix the memory issue? or to free up a lot more to make everything run prime.

No, you will have to upgrade your rom. Search for ttrans001 rom called slimline. It will give you all the storage and program memory space that you need. Please make sure you backup your apps. Please read the directions several times before flashing because you can really screw up your phone if you don't. Be very careful and read, read, read before you flash your rom. It is very simple to do if you read and follow the directions.
1. Find ivanjj post on how to flash a rom and download the uspl file
2. Find ttrans001 slimline rom and download the file
3. Follow all the directions completely
2mb program memory? wow, thats dangerously low. Which ROM are you using? Try reducing the page pool to 4mb or 6mb(if you are still on stock ROM). This'll free up lots of program memory for you.
explanation: the windows mobile device uses the windows media player's DLLs to decode the ringtones which are in MP3/WMA/MP4 format. This requires some free program memory. Unfortunately, on a device like atlas/herald, the RAM is just 64mb and not 128MB like newer WM devices. So, one needs to be very careful regarding the software which swallow a lot of RAM
Close a few programs.
This will give you more memory.
Change your pagepool.
This will give you a lot more memory.
Change your ROM to a cleaner ROM like itje's Black series, Ttran's Slimline series or any of my ROM since they're all clean.
This will give you the most memory. My phone barely ever goes below 20mb free WHILE running lots of programs.
Hello,
I have Qtek S200, I have 64 MB RAM and 128 MB ROM and 2 GB storage card.
It gives me 20MB free RAM. I want to know how can I transfer some MB's from my ROM size to RAM memory or use some space from my memory card to put in RAM place.
I know it was possible in Windows Mobile 2003 SE but I am on Windows Mobile 6.0
Please help me, or just tell me if there is a way I can use ROM or Storage card as RAM? it will help me a lot in running some really good applications.
Thanks a lot, badly waiting for answer!
Thanks,
FAISAL!
i have browsed into Prophet Forums as much as i can but i havent stumbled upon a certain topic concerning your proposal. what i would suggest is that there are some good programs out there that you can install in your device that can help you manage your RAM efficiently.
Since prophet isnt GIFTED with such huge RAM memory space i would recommend you the following programs to install in your device ( some of them might already be incorporated in your ROM if your using the ROMS provided by experts here in this Forum)
1. Hibernate (www.oxios.com)
2. ClearTemp by Vicott Wong
3. CleanRAM by HTCAddicts
i will attach number 2 and 3 files as CAB and its up to you how will you set it up on your device. maybe a regular schedule for these apps to run on your device..
good luck and hope this programs help since Prophet Devices arent gifted with so much RAMS like other HTC devices do..
Cheers,
Hi,
I keep getting the low disk space notification. I was having 16 mb free space and wanted to download a racing game from Market which is 20 mb. I uninstalled some apps and made 20.5 mb free space. I downloaded the game finally. My idea was to move it to sd card after installation and still have 20 mb of free space. when the installation started, it gave the low free space error again and restarted. After restart , I checked the game was not installed. No shortcut in the apps list. But the 20 mb of space is gone only 150kb of free space is left and the phone start to work slower. I checked with Astro but haven't been able to pin down it's location. I want to find the files and delete them to gain free space. Can anyone help me about this situation. And why I have so less space even I did not install apps. I am using Android 2.2.1 / DL DesireZ v3.4 final
when you downloaded it, the install file used up the last 20 meg, so there is no room for it to install when you run it.
cache folders, temp folders, incoming bluletooth folders, opera cache, opera download, look them up, empty them, check your installed program list, there are bound to be some things installed you dont actually use, get rid of them.
Thank you very much for the info. You are right , I found the installation file in the Cache folder , 20 mb and delete everything in the folder. Now I have 29.55 mb of free space. I installed App 2 SD from market to install the apps directly to sd.
Why don't you just partition your SD Card and use A2SD or DATA2SD?

I did not know. ı am very new to Android. Has been just a week. Before I used Blackberry and Windows 7. I think Android is better.
i have a problem like that , the thing is that my apps need to update so i did it but now there are like 5 apps that in the market says installing but they're already installed and actually i can use them with no problem and also i have the low space warning but i have like 16mb free...a little help please!?
thx
