I have a long fight with USPL and vista, but finally yesterday I won.
All you need to do is:
1. Remove your SD card
2. Do a hard reset or clean storage (some programs like battery status block full access to your device)
3. Connect your mobile to PC and make sure that activsync connection is established
4. Start to flash your device with USPL, when DOS part end and your mobile switch to bootloader mode vista will find new device and start instaling new drivers.
5. Wait till vista finish installing new drivers and unplug your device, do a soft reset
6. Next step is to change vista drivers to xp, to do this you need to fallow this instruction:

7. After switching the drivers plug your artemis again and install USPL, there should be no more problems with connection lost (errors 260, 270)
8. When USPL instalation will finish you can flash any rom you want to your arte

at step 4: do i stop after the DOS part? Or do i continue with the screen with the big picture of a mobile?
Because after the DOS part vista installs the drivers but i'm not yet in the bootloader screen on my mobile (but i've got a white screen).
at step 6: When i untick "allow USB connections" in the WMDC, my mobile is no longer in the Device Manager list so how can i then change te drivers to the XP drivers?

First put your Artemis into bootloader then connect to your PC. Vista will install a driver for a PDA but this driver is not correct. You can find the correct drivers in the posts above this. After installing the NEW drivers you can reset your artemis and disconnect it from your pc. Restart it and just run USPL again. Has to work now.

ok what am i doing wrong...?
have followed all the steps above... but still get a 270?
am on official O2 uk WM6 rom but want to upgrade radio as performance / batt life have become dire since moving from the HTC WM6 rom to the offical O2 one....
device now syncs without drop out having changed driver to the old 2004 one... but still cant upgrade radio or USPL or anything ......
HELP!
the odd thing is the O2 wm6 rom updates fine within vista. but nothing will go over the top of it?

Second time flashing, help!
I succesfully flashed my Artemis (after using USPL)... At the moment, I'm tired of my cooked ROM and I would like to install a new ROM. Do I have to use USPL a second time?
Bootloader screen says: SPL 1.11.100 (or something like that...)

Doesn't work, because Vista says that it is not a Vista driver. How did you all installed the drivers under vista???
cmon uspl gives error code 260
Though I am not new to these ROM upgrading things, I am always receiving error code 260 while trying to update the SPL by cmon uspl. I have already successfully updated by uspl, long ago. I have flashed several ROMs and tried most of them.
Why only cmon uspl is giving me such error?

Just curious to know if there is any way I can downgrade my Typhoon (an Orange SPV C500) following the WM6 upgrade I did. I would take it back to the software version obtained from http://www.orange.co.uk/c500patch/. When I try just running it, I get an error about communications which I guess is due to the bootloader I installed before upgrading to WM6.

yes U can.....If U r downgrading from ANDOT's WM6 to WM2003,
Follow these steps:
1. Run SPV Services and check whether U have super CID or not...(it must be Super CID i-e CID unlocked......
2. run Typhoonnbftools and emergency flash the phoen with provided SPL 1.01.0064 nbf file.... Once flashing is done... turn off ur phone, and disconnect it from USB
3. kill wcescomm and rapimgr via Win XP task manager
4. Run Mtty142.exe and click the USB button...A command prompt like windows will pop up
5. Type info2
6. Typeformat BINFS (in capitals is BINFS, case sensitive)
7. dont turn off or reset Ur device now.....just close Mtty and run the official upgrade (i used orange's from the site given above)

I am passing my old T Mobile (unlocked on Vodafone) P3300 to my son after his mother managed to wash his Samsung Toco. I want to upgrade to the latest/best ROM and Windows 6 or 6.5. What do I need to do to do this? I have the Artemis_USPL to start the process off but which ROM should I go for and where can I download it from? I could do with a real idiots guide to this as I rarely bother upgrading my phones. I did my Touch Pro 2 a while ago but cannot remember what I did now.

download uspl - 1.11.cmon (dump the one you already have and use this one)

I have been reading in the forum for hours and hours, without beeing able to find an easy way (that I understand) on how to upgrade.
I am an old (retired) man, and not stupid (I hope) but have a slight consentration problem.
I want to upgrade from WM5.0 to Windows Mobile 6.1
(+Opera Mini, support for 8GB SDHC and TomTom 7)
I have: a HTC P3300 ARTE100
IPL 1.12.0001
SPL 1.12.0000
GSM 02.67.90
OS 1.12.0.0
ROM version: 1.12.405.1 WWE
ROM date: 9/12/06
Radio version: 02.67.90
Protocol version: 4.1.13.28
ExtROM version: 1.12.405.101
The device is not locked (I belive) because I can use any SIM I want in the phone.
I have tried to flash to SPL 1.11.cmon, but ended up with SPL 1.11.0000
So I downloaded and installed HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP This put my phone back to original, (SPL 1.12.0000)
Synced and copied enablerapi.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab Disconnected, and ran both of them.
I tried to run start_uspl.exe, but it will only try to update from current rom ver. 1.12.405.1 to ver.9.99
And after a while I get a message on my P3300:
Unable to open log file....
tiny_console_init done
And ROM ver. is back to SPL 1.12.0000
Suggestions anyone?

first update to the newest version of active sync thought.
next make sure your device is fully charged.
next back up all data from your device. flashing a new rom will erase all data.
next cid unlock read the first post and download the attachments

to my limited knowledge of sdhc support and the p3300 all of the cooked roms have sdhc support cooked in. so when you get a newer rom on your phone sdhc should work.

I downloaded pof's Artemis_USPL and ran it, but it seems nothing was changed.
I too wants to change the ROM ver. from 1.12.405.1 to ver. 9.99
And the link to: HTC P3300 WWE factory rom - is dead.
But I found HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP another place.
I have also found and downloaded AndreW82_WM6.1_21056_Lite_v1.4_WWE.nbh
But am afraid to try to install it since my ROM is not ver. 1.11.cmon.
Here is what I have tried so far:
Downloaded Artemis_USPL
Synced and copied enablerapi.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab
Disconnected, and ran both of them.
Booted and Synced.
Started start_uspl
(wich opened a dos window)

This will take approx 10 min, - Next
Phone screen changes to red green blue, runs a bar up to 100%, and the softboots.
Takes about 10 sec, not 10 min.
Error message pops up on PC:
Error 270
Image file is corrupt.
EXIT
Disconnected anf booted phone.
SPL is still the same (SPL 1.12.0000)

Trying again:
Synced
Ran EnableRapi.cab and Cert_SPSC.cab
Did not boot or disconnect, but started start_uspl.exe

70% phone-screen goes white

my spl is 1.11.cmon so cid is already done and has been for a year, i have flashed several roms so i am not a noob at flashing..
the connection from my pc to artemis dsconnected during flash and now in bootloader.. it wont flash from sd..
i know how to use the mtty commands coz iv used it before, but cant remember how to get it to select USB from the 'port' menu..

PC:
Active sync > File > Connection Settings > Allow USB connections, and select a port. (e.g. COM2)
Phone:
Phone > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > Enable
Then:
Phone > Programs > Active Sync > Menu > Connections > Sync PC's with this connection > Select USB.

One of the first steps is to take out the SD-card. Is that what I am doing wrong?
(Should I copy the AndreW82xxxx.nbh to my SD, and have it installed when I run the uspl/RUU?)

This is obviously where I miss something.
the RUU_signed is a .nbh file.
So how do I start it?
Should I use activesync and put it on the phone and some how start it from there?
Or should I put it in the same folder as the uspl cmon, and then run the uspl?
Or is there another trick that I have missed?

Seems my phone has some kind of lock on the SPL 1.12.0000.
Can it be write-protected in some way?
And if so, how can I "unlock" the write protection?

I've made several attempts to install 1.11.cmon, none was succesfull.
Two days ago performed another try, but this time without SR. and it worked

Asuming SR means SoftReset - I tried, but it did not help.
Same Error (270)
So I tried again, and again.
Cert_SPCS.cab and enablerapi.cab without disconnecting nor syncing the phone.
Then start_uspl.exe, and on white screen I just started (or rather continued with) the RUU.
WOOHOO - on 3. attempt my SPL changed to 1.11.cmon
So, if you read this post, and have the same problem as I had, here is how to do it:
Download attached file, unzip it, and read the install.txt
...
1.1.cmon is 1.11.cmon
dont forget to thank POF

1.1.cmon was the name of the zip you sent, but OK, I have changed it now.
CREDS for pof is added to install.txt

I have a slight consentration problem, so I forgot that I am only half way.
I have downloaded a couple of .nbh files (AndreW82, Touch 4.02, Tom Black v5.0).
I have not yet decided wich one to use.
I want to install TomTom7 and Opera Lite + support for 8GB SDHC.
Now I just have to figure out how to install one of the .nbh files.
