What ROM are you using to get Conversation email in wm6.5? Can you provide a link? I am using Sprint Lovers ROM on my TP2, and it has wm6.5.x, but I don't have this feature. So sad.
Hello.
I have researched this problem I came across and still can't find a solution to this.
Some ROMs like Omega and Energy do not sync text messages via ActiveSync even though the option is checked. There was another ROM (Kumars) on which syncing worked but still did not work properly (did not delete text from phone once deleted from outlook).
Has anyone got any ideas, CAB files or Registy Tweaks to fix it? It's not a very serious issue but I don't really make most of my new HD2 without that simple option
Thanks for any help
Is noone able to help me?
txt messages syncing over activesync? syncing to where? not the standard activesync to windows mobile device center, cos that doesnt do txt messages, (at least ive neer seen it)
My HD2 doesn't make my morning coffee for me. Can no one help me?

Clearly your battery pins are bent, or you're not scrolling far enough up the list
I recommend a custom ROM, I think you'll find the "~[FoLgErS]~" series to be right up your alley
My HD2 never wants to have sexy time with me, is there a ROM for that?

No. I am talking about syncing text messages (sms) over ActiveSync to an Exchange Server 2010. Is it so funny? It used to work on stock rooms.
Near as I can tell, this feature is not ready for prime time.
In my case, I can create the SMS in Outlook. It gets synced onto my phone, and appears in SMS Sent Items... but it is not actually sent.
Then if on the phone I later create an SMS in the same conversation and send it, that message and the ones that were synced over ActiveSync all get sent out.
I'm running Indie's Omega ROM 2.7.2 but I recall similar issues with stock ROMs. I just don't think this works properly. It could be an issue with the HTC messaging client not behaving exactly like the Microsoft one in some way significant to how the ActiveSync client invokes the SMS client.
Um, and for all you know-it-alls mocking the OPs question about SMS and ActiveSync, well, SUCK IT!
(Just kidding -- this is a relatively recent addition to ActiveSync and probably not a lot of people know about it.)
Well. I must say it worked properly on stock roms. I had no problems sending texts from my outlook and also receiving them was ok. They used to appear in outlook seconds after they arrived to the phone. Now nothing appears and texts dont even get send when sent from outlook. This feature worked in Kumars ROM as far as i remember but it did not in Engergy and Omega ROMs.
Nobody has got any ideas?
As this is the first most of us have heard of this, I doubt you'll get an answer.
I also have this problem. AND it is a "stock ROM". (But its a swedish rom).
But I can sync them to "myphone.micrsoft.com", but I want to sync them to the mailaccount on a Exchange 2010 server.
It's a htc message client issue. If you use the Zenyee Disable HTC messaging 1.2 it works
My MT4G should be here any day now. I have read where there are problems syncing with exchange 2010 and MT4G. I am getting this phone for work mostly and need it to sync with exchange 2010.
Can someone tell me what specifically is the problem? I have heard it is HTC's implementation of their email client. So, if I root this phone and put on one the "popular" ROMs here, will this be fixed?
Or will I need to root, remove the HTC mail client, find/install the android/google email client?
Anyone else done this before?
I was sending emails from my phone for a week before I figured out nobody was getting them. Seriously pissed me off. I found this thread on TMO forums that has some good info...
http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/myTouch-4G/Exchange-2010-issues-can-t-send-email/m-p/567523
I hope HTC gets their sh*t together with this one. I upgraded from a G1 on which I always had a "nonsense" android rom of some flavor loaded up, but I'm kinda liking a lot of the stock sense features on the MT4G. Not quite ready to mess with it yet. For now I'm using touchdown off the market, but I don't like it enough to shell out $20 for a feature that SHOULD work out of the box....
Thanks for the link. I may have read that one a while back. I have an EVO for my personal phone. I don't mind the sense interface.
I am just wondering if the MT4G(sense) ROMs that are currently being built, if they are using this HTC client or the android one? Maybe I will just have to wait 'til I get mine to root and find out myself. I just thought I would have some questions answered before the phone arrived.
Or if anyone knows how to successfully remove the HTC client and install the android client....?
My Wife is a BB user, as she uses an exchange server at work for email and her calander syncing and whatnot. I am trying to get her to switch to Android. I currently have a G2, but don't use exchange. I have a spare MyTouch Slide I rooted with 6.0.0 on it, that I was thinking of letting her use for a while to see if she likes it. But I need to be 100% sure exchange works well, if something doesn't sync to her or her bosses calender or she misses an email, it would be very bad.
I figure I could test it on the SLide before shelling out the cash on a G2. If it simply isn't going to work as well as it does on her BB, then I'll just get her a new BB. Then it's time to decide to unlock a Torch or go with the 9780.
Any thoughts would be great, thank you.
I've used exchange on CM6.1 and CM7... I havent had any trouble with missed emails or calendar items.
Hello my friends. Thank you in advanced for any help/input you give.
Here's my thing.. I am an avid M$er (yes I know, but I get as much good from it as the bad). I'm a professional IT guy, and I run my home network on Enterprise lvl MS Server software and Windows on all PCs.
I have been using WinMo since the days of PPC, so I know the software. I decided to give WP7 a test run (even knowing the limitations) a couple months ago, and still am disappointed. Unfortunately I got stuck with it till now, because just after I installed it my personal Exchange server crashed. It's significant because it holds all of my contact info and schedule (for backup and retrieval when I change roms), so I had to wait till I had time and patience to recover the server and my database, which left me with my only current copy of info on the phone as it couldn't get pushed back to the server to store (I never put my info online so no uploading it wasn't an option for me).
Finally exchanger recovered, its time for me to be rid of this headache of a mobile OS and initially I was going to go back to my favorite HD2 WM6.5.3 rom, but when I finally visited the thread, I came back to realize my fav rom cooker is no longer developing for my device..
So I'm faced with the choices of still using the most current from my fav cooker, finding another WM cooker and get acquainted, or try out Android seriously for a little while at least (I've had it on SD from the beginning, but not definitively explored it).
My main thing is it has to connect to my servers. That's my bread and butter so to speak. I need it to connect to my Exchange and sync seamlessly contact and schedule (main things, but would definitely like as much sync as possible), but never upload my info to Google or anywhere else. So my first proviso is can it do that? (please remember I've never seriously explored Android for this intent), and can you provide info on it?
On remote desktopping and file sharing, like I said I have enterprise lvl servers so my network is high lvl security, can it connect to this kind of network (with certs from my CA)?
Third important thing to me, and one of the big reasons I dislike WP7, the interface. I'm in lust with HTC's sense from WM6.5 roms. Absolutely like it. Is there a way to at least mimic this sense? I've been missing the at-a-glance full screen weather updates soo much too.
Aside from those things, Android on HD2 already has a plus from me for having flash, my favorite IM program (Trillian), and the wifi calling (I live in an area where I don't get service till I'm miles from home).
So with those things in mind, can someone recommend Android to me, and possibly give me as much info as they can on the features that are most important to me? Again, I've played with Android, only a little (American Android currently), and mostly to help clients and friends out.
Thanks again for your help

Thank you PresidentMcCain that is very favorable info. So my question is now, if I set Exchange up as primary email, then add my google account, will it try to sync my exchange contacts with google?
Have you looked at Appbrain website - you can explore all the apps on the market with a good description.
Im new to android (from long standing 6.5 use) and im extremly impressed, using sd method so i can fall back on 6.5 if i need it (), but it wont be long before its ditched.
You can choose specifically what or what not to sync with Google the first time when you boot up the ROM or in the Settings.
Using the "Email" app will not sync with Google servers unless you choose to forward your mail to your Gmail account (duh).
Thanks again. So what about calendar and other info synced with exchange, one note, sharepoint ect?
You can sync your contacts, tasks, messages and calendar from exchange (all of it, or you can choose which sections to sync), and it will never share it with Google for no reason (in fact you would have to explicitly copy the info yourself using import/export methods). It's worth noting that Google accounts themselves actually use exchange so both work similarly.
Sent from my HTC HD2 überphone
Thanks kbm, I didn't know about the site. But that will be very helpful if I switch.
Thanks Atomix86, That puts to rest my questions about connecting and syncing with my exchanger. Very helpful info indeed.
Anyone have any thoughts about the rest?

No problem at all, let me know if you need any more help.
Looking at the link PresidentMcCain posted, I realized the info was for Exchange 2003 and 2007. Will this also help for connecting to Exchange 2010 as well? That is what my exchange server is, and remembering a friend who just got a Mytouch 4g recently was having a problem connecting to Exchange 2010 with the default app.

Maybe this might help. I read it this morning than came across this thread.
i dont know about exchange accounts. So if this is what you needed than its all good.
Thanks czarsuperstar, that app would help with note syncing, but looks like not for connecting to Exchange 2010 in general.
I was on winmo for a while and loved it to be honest but i went to sd android back in January an the google syncs convinced me and not long after i got nand and Ive not once looked back, i went back on winmo about a month ago just to see whats new etc and think i had it on for about 20 miutess before i flashed android straight back so its always worth a shot so id test the sd builds first to get your own opinion and then build on from there
Good luck and enjoy the future....
