Will it be possible to port the tmobile HD 2 ROM, with 1 Gig ROM over? What would be the advantages of the larger ROM?

Do you mean a replacement of the current 512 ROM NAND chip by the TMous 1012 Mb NAND chip? Can that be done for not to much money?
I'm a beginner as it comes to rom cooking, but I think that the advantage would be that one could create much larger custom roms.
If it is Rom related the n yes maybe. But I suspect the hardware is different. We already have TMOUS ROM's but they have not provided us with 1gb of ROM.

whats the whole point of FLASH. i want to do that to my phone but what will it do to the phone. can someone explain to me about FLASH.
Are you talking about flashing a ROM? If so the point is to get the newest or most stable build of WinMo.
Go to the ROM section and start reading the stickies. If you have a T-Mob HD2 you will want to pay particular attention to what ROM you do flash. There are two versions of the HD2, the European version on the T-Mobile version. The T-Mob version has a full gig of internal memory and a 1 gig processor while the European version only has 512 of memory and a smaller processor. If you make the mistake of flashing the wrong ROM onto the wrong phone you have an expensive paper weight.
yeah im talking about flashing rom. does this help the phone on working fast?
yes it does.

Sorry to correct you, but the Tmous has also 576MB RAM instead of 1024MB RAM, the European version does have 448MB RAM default, but after flashing a Tmous radio the ram can be unlocked so i has also 576MB RAM. I think you are meaning ROM instead of RAM
For me it's the RAM / Random Access Memory that counts since it's the memory you need to use in operation in contrary to ROM / Read Only Memory which is only needed to store your OS/Bootloader etc.
And cpu wise they got the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250B chipset/cpu running @ 1Ghz.
Ow and TS, if you are asking yourself what a FLASH is ? please don't try it if you got zero knowledge/understanding/informing yourself about flashing (be it pc,psp,hd2 etc.) that won't be such a good idea
Take a look at these threads:
Flashing a ROM (International HD2)
Flashing a ROM (TMOUS HD2)
Flashing a new Radio ROM
Complete HD2 guide for flashing (Video's included)
It's a lot to go over, but if you are going to flash your device I highly recommend you know what you are doing. A mistake can mean a very expensive paperweight.
To answer you question on the "whole point" thing..
There are several reasons one might want to flash their device.
I flashed hspl2 at first because I didn't like T-Mobil's lame pink pre-bootscreen. Then more recently I flashed a new Radio ROM.
Many (perhaps most) people flash "cooked" ROMs built by other members of xda (or themselves) which include their favorite apps, tweaks, themes, lockscreens, etc. already built into the ROM. Custom ROM's can also include updates to the Winmo OS.
Another reason is to change the Radio. The Radio ROM (not the FM radio) is the software that controls how your device handles data and phone connections.
Many people, including myself, flash a different Radio. Personally, I have found that my battery life, signal, and data connections have dramatically improved after doing this. You might also need to flash a new radio if you are going to try out the new(ish) android port.
Ya sorry for the mistakes. Thought for some reason the Euro version had a smaller proc as well. As for the RAM-ROM thing ya just wasn't thinking as I typed.
thanks for the information guys. i have alot of reading to do. so u guys recommand for me to flash after i read the information???

Well what ROM you want to flash solely depends on what your wants/needs are. I personally prefer a clean 6.5.5 build (finger friendly/start buttons on bottom) and my current ROM is Cloudy 1.5
You will first need to flash HSPL3 before attempting to flash anything else. This will protect you from bricking your phone from a bad flash and also enables you to flash your phone from SD Card instead of USB cable and PC etc.
Once you have chosen your rom just stick the nbh file (rename to LEOIMG.nbh) onto root of SD and boot into loader.
Read all the needed info before attempting anything.
Hi,
As there is some difference between HD2 and T-Mobile HD2 i wanted to ask if there are also different roms or I can use all HD2 roms for either of them?
What is the benefit of bigger rom memory?
Is there a difference in roms sizes?
Thanks.

No sir like there are two different versions there are also two different ROM versions.
If you have a T-Mous device be sure that the Rom builder mention on his Rom-Thread that it is T-Mous compatible.
Also be aware to never install a x.xx.51.x Radio on T-Mous device; this will brakes your device.

The one that says Release Version is for the EU HD2
The one that has TMOUS NAND ONLY LEO1024 is for rhw T-Mobile HD2
I am downloading the TMOUS version right now.
Thx,
then i need the Release version, because i have 512MB and an EU HD2.
Did you think, thats a good ROM?
it is a good rom.

Best ROM there is IMO i haven't had anything else on my phone now in over 4 months and i used to flash ROM's every other week.
OK, i installed the ROM and it is great.
BUT,
How can i deactivate the hardware buttons and/or get a better Lock-Screen, if somebody calls me?
Second thing, the IMEI and the Device Info is wrong.
Does anybody has an answer on my questions?
Hi, on my HTC HD2 i have a stock rom of desire HD. In the info of my device i see about 420mb of ram. I have radio 2.15.50.14. I think there is a way to enable 576mb. Probably the "issue" require a kernel that allow the rom to use all the ram. There's a patch or someone that can build a kernel with this feature??
HD2 has 448MB of RAM!
576 RAM = 448 + 128 RAM for sys/ video card / 3d accelerator

The 576 ram are already enabled but the system only shows 420 ( or 410 ) as its using the rest.

OK, last one time: YES it has 576MB already
(because trick to enable is: HSPL 2.08 + 2.15.50.14 radio)

wait... you mean the 576MB trick doesn't work with R: 2.12.x.x ???

well...maybe yes. the trick works with all radios that contain 50 (the 51 radios do not work) so if your radio is 2.12.50 it is OK
if you want some technical background: 2.xx.50 radios were originally released for TMOUS version of HD2 that shipped 576MB RAM and 1GB ROM
developers found out that the radios work on EU HD2 too and that it enables the adiidional MB of RAM that were initially blocked.
(the 1GB ROM cannot be unlocked because it is different chip)
all of this was a long time ago in a galaxy far away during Windows Mobile hacking....
in Windows Mobile there was about 350MB total (+ something system reserved leading 448MB of physical RAM)
later with TMOUS .50 radios it increased to about 450MB (+ something system reserved) meaning that 576 MB RAM is on all models.
so you can have 576MB RAM available because it is reserved for radio (phone function) and GPU
I hope that this old knowledge explains everything to all.
live long and prosper...

@ OP
DO NOT post topics here unless you are a dev and are posting a dev project/ref. There is a general and Q&A forum for you.
Ok for me! Very good daekin! Number 1! Really sorry for the DEV thread...i only tried to start the dev of a new kernel. Sorry, close or delete thread. Bye
I did my best and searched the forums, so forgive me if I missed this particular thread.
I've had this HD2 for quite awhile, and thinking of changing to another stock ROM.
I read somewhere that the HD2 actually 576mb of RAM.
Does anybody know of any ROMs that take advantage of the "locked" RAM? Or any awesomely fast NAND ROMs with Sense that has built-in OC functions (I saw a ROM that had 1.53GHz OC)
I just want to maximize the use of this awesome phone.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Flash dorimanx kernel. It supports 1.5 ghz
it seems impossible to unlock the memory
there are many oc roms,eg,dansta34's Runnymede Sense 3.5 android 2.3.5 OC daemon & HierOS 1.8.3 ker, however, you should know you do oc at your own risk
There are two versions of HD2

Confirmation please?
Someone with an TMOUS HD2 can please confirm this? Can you actually see the 576 Mb reported?
tmous has 576mb ram . Eu hd2 has less.

Lol. You mean ROM. They both have same RAM.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
No, he meant RAM.
Check the website i posted...
As far as that was concerned, I heard the newer radios after 2.14 unlocked the extra portion for the system. I'm on 2.15. That was the case for the euro hd2's I heard awhile ago. Until the new radios stopped being updated.
You can check if your in windows mobile, just be sure your on the newest radio and you should show 576mb
Also.. http://www.slashgear.com/euro-htc-hd2-hidden-ram-matches-newer-us-spec-model-2871874/
android terminal, run "free", report back please
Everybody don't confuse RAM with ROM with processor speed...
Edit also : you could just search before you post. This is just way several topics below : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350210
No confusion. For now, it states:
TMOUS : 1GB ROM, 576 RAM
EUHD2: 512ROM, 448 RAM.
Leave cpu clock out of this topic please
Tmous - 576
Regular - 448
Regular with a tmous rom and radio - 576
They do both have the same ram, only some is hidden on the regular, only unlocked in certain circumstances.
We all, reg and tmous, show 411 under android.
Looking at another thread... i think we're all mistaken.
Both devices have the same amount of ram. The total ram reported on WM65 was not queried via a command, but a simple file pretty much like we do on build.prop on android.
So, both devices have 448 RAM, and 128 GPU RAM.
That's better...
I was actually thinking that was probably it... like those crappy laptops or motherboards with shared memory definitions for RAM and graphics board ... still much more ram than my first one (256 Mb Apple iBook)...
---------- Post added at 09:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:37 PM ----------
Can someone please update the device page on the pdadb?

Yeah, basically a Tmo-US is the same as the EU HD2 but with the 576MB RAM unlocked by default (EU needs a newer radio, from .14 onwards), 1GB ROM (as opposed to 512MB), a T-Mobile logo and red/green end call/call buttons (respectively).

just for the purpose of accuracy, its the 50/51 part of teh radio version that determines whether it unlocks the memory.
Any radio that is safe for tmous to flash, (and by definition work with android) will also unlock the ram on a regular hd2. Thats 2.07.50 onwards.
Any x.xx.51, or 2.05.50 and 2.06.50, radios will..
1 - brick a tmous
2 - not unlock the ram on a reg leo
3 - cause magldr (and presumably cLK too) not to start.
