Is there any program that makes a new sms pop up in standby screen, like a preview? Like Handcent sms for android?

I found this in another post, but it seems to be buggy... I get alot of squares in the popup and the name of the sender only.
Have you ever tried changing the options in Settings->Sound and notification->Notification tab and checking the box "Show message on the screen" ?

Hello,
I need some help: I lost the SMS notification and pop-up window after upgrading to Lvsw AKU 2.3.1.
Does anybody can help me ? Any known registry issues ?
thx
are you referring to the blue envelop icon that pops up when there's an incoming sms? here it is... but beware, it eats up battery juice and tends to slow down your unit.
if not, are you referring to the sms sent notification?
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default
Set options to 9 (not 0)

No, I'm not refering to the sent notification. That I'm receiving normally.
But any SMS (text) or any SMS reveive receipt does not pop-up the botttom window and does not show the small envelope on top of the today-screen.
check the "sounds and notifications" into the settings menu.there is a tab "notification".from the drop down box select the "new text message" and select the notifications you want.

Solution:
Very simple solution. Go to Settings - Sounds and notifications. Then click on notifications on the bottom, then click on the Event dropdown menu and select Messaging: New text message and uncheck the display message on screen box. You can do the same for MMS and Email by selecting them from the event dropdown box.

Check the settings Sounds and Notifications area

Holy Crap!!! Thanks a BUNCH!! I would have never guessed. Being that MSG SENT disabled was hard enough to get now this was a lot easier!!! WOW You made my day dude!!!!.......
I have installed the TF3D in my x1 but the youtube.exe shortcut under internet is not working, popping up an error meassage-The file youtube can't be opened.Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. If problem persists try reinstalling or restoring the file.
Why is that ? Please help
And one more issue..The TF3D isn't working in landscape mode? Is that common or any chance to fix it?
I think the youtube problem is about the language id at the end of youtube.exe (for example an english phone has youtube.exe.0409, and my swedish phone has youtube.exe.041d) in your windows folder. Check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2931376&postcount=456
And about landscape mode, it just doesn't work with TF3D.
Thanks. Another issue i found that the sms notification is disabled. How to Enable that?
You mean a notification that the message was delivered?
If so, check here:
Start > Message function (or something like that), SMS \ MMS is selected right away, so click Menu > Options > click SMS \ MMS > and check the notification box.

No buddy, not that. I want the incoming text message notification at the left bottom of the x1 screen which stays there untill you read the message. Is there any option to enable that?
As far as I know, that notification only stays there for 10 seconds.
Don't know if there is an option to keep it there until you read the message.

Disable the tf3d,back to ur x1 home screen, send a message from ur other cell,u'll find for how long the notification stays there...
I don't have TF3D enabled. Just using the first ordinary panel, and the message stays there for 10 seconds..
I didnt like the way the emails and messages opened in the home tab, ie it goes straight to the latest message so I added the mail and messages programs from the start menu to my quick links which corrects these problems. However, there is no notifications on the quick links to notify me if I've got a message or not. Is there a way you can get notifications to come up like it does on the home tabs?

You can set notifications to show on screen messages for these events, yeah.
Go to Settings, All Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications (tab) and when you go to message or new email message, you can set it to "Display message on screen".
Hope this helps

Unfortunately not because if I go into settings I don't have an option for 'All settings'. The only option I can find for notifications is under display and sounds, and I can only change the sounds and vibrate for notifications. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry - it's the settings tab, then Menu, then All settings.
It's frustrating because All Settings is what the settings icon in the start menu used to do, and some people have modified the registry so that it's back that way (me included), so when you want someone to go to settings, you have to actually tell them to go to the settings tab, then menu, then all settings, when you just want the bloody windows settings screen!! lol

Thanks, I never even knew that all settings was even there.I'll see if that works, cheers
The notification wasn't exactly what I was after, with the fix suggested above a pop up comes up saying new sms which is not exactly what I was after. What I wanted was something like on the messages on the tabs where you get a green circle superimposed with a number of how many messages you have. Can that be done?
Ah - I see what you're saying now. Sorry, I misunderstood.
Have you looked at MaxManila at all? That does exactly what you're asking.

Cheers, I'll have a look into this
So I did the "upgrade" that TMO put out on their website for the HD2 and now I do not get the popup message window when a new text comes in. Before the upgrade it my phone was dormant and I had a new text message the display would come to life and a box would display at the bottom of the screen with a preview of the message (in addition to the normal audible notification). Now the display comes on and the audible notification occurs but there is not popup box anymore. Any thoughts?

Thank you for the reply zelendel. My menus do not have that exact string. If I go to Settings I have a Sounds & Display option, which has the following options - Profiles, Volume, Ring and Notifications, Display and G-Sensor. The only place in these menus that I can alter the text message is teh sound that plays. I do not see a checkbox.

Ok sounds like those are the manila style settings. In the settings there may be a softkey marked all settings and that should take you to the WM settings. if not then disable sense and then goint settings and that should give you the WM settings as well.

Wrong "settings" area. When you're on the settings tab there, click "menu" in the bottom right, then "all settings", then "sounds and notifications" On the 2nd tab ("notifications"), pick "Message: New message" from the first drop-down, then you'll see the check box you need.
Thank you Phunk! That was what I was missing!!!

No prob...it was the same place zelendel was referring to, but HTC did nobody a favor when they created a 2nd distinct set of "settings" and kept the name the same
Yeah sorry I disabled the manila settings thing long ago and forgot about it.
Issue resolved.
