I have some problems with JAM

Vodafone UK - ROM 1.06 - I-mate Jam
I just bought my JAM two days ago... and I have these questions that need to be solve, pls help if u can...
1. More than often, when I go to settings, if I switch between tabs in here (personal, system, connection), the message: Backup battery is very low (it is 100% full).. then it freeze the unit, I have to do a soft reset - how do I fix this? Is it one of ROM 1.06 bug?
2. Can we assign mp3 as ringtone?
3. How can I disable GPRS? I only need GSM
4. Does it have any ROM user accessible? - I see a folder Storage but not sure if its RAM or ROM?
5. When I use cable to sync with my laptop, I couldn't use the internet on the JAM? When I try to open a webpage from IE, it will try to connect using Vodafone GPRS. Eventhough my worldmate still get the weather update, and the antivirus program still check its update. So how do I use the internet from the JAM?
Thanks a lot.

I do not get this issue at all, I have the 1.06.00WWE rom.
2. Can we assign mp3 as ringtone?
Yes, copy the mp3 to windows/ring and it will be available in the pull down under phone options. There is also a cab file here http://www.pocketgear.com/ppcw/software_detail.asp?id=16569 that will let you hold down on an mp3 and select it as ringtone (auto copies it to windows/ring) you can also do a reg edit to store ring tones on the storage card, and the photo view app will let you assign individual tones to different callers (inc. mp3)
3. How can I disable GPRS? I only need GSM
Well, if you just want to stop GPRS connecting hold down the red button, if you want to delete it completely delete the profiles under start, settings, connections, connections, manage existing connections.
4. Does it have any ROM user accessible? - I see a folder Storage but not sure if its RAM or ROM?
I think that is UA ROM but im not 100%

Im not sure, I havent tried this. I think it might be something to do with allowing internet passthrough in activesync but I am not sure.
HTH!

Installed applications list, is there a max limit?

Hi guys !
I've noticed that my 9000 doesn't show all the installed apps.
I remember there was a 50 limit applications list in MS Smartphones (I had an i-mate SP3) and i suppose the limit is in Universal too
I continue to install software of course, but I can see the complete list with ActiveSync only.
Do you confirm this ?
Thanks

you R in wrong forum - o2 atom exec is not o2 exec aka HTC Universal. I know its not only your fault, o2 made atoms name (atom exec) little bit missleading
Yeah.. the Exec suffix really is kinda misleading. Even while searching in ebay for stuff for XDA Exec.. i usually get Atom Exec stuffs on the list unless I enclose my search parameters on quotes.
kind mods, please move this.
moved - wrong section

How to prevent phone from using certain connections?

Hi,
I have a Windows Mobile 6 Standard based phone (actually an HP one called IPAQ 514) and would like to configure its connections.
What I want is that my phone does never connect to the internet by my phone provider but only with WLAN and Bluetooh. This means I want to disable the internet by my provider completly. Is this possible?
The setting should be used for all applications on the phone and also for those I'll install in the future. Currently I removed GPRS connections, except for MMS and I removed "DFÜ" (German). Anything more to do?
How to set up Internet Explorer?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Greetings,
Andreas Balzer
I don't want to go online through my provider either so I simply deleted the media net profile on my phone. Not sure how your HP works, but something along those lines should work.
if you want better controll, you can leave all dial up/gprs connections in there for moment when you really need it, and just disable and enable the one you need. this is simple small utility, which do the trick - modaco no data - http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility/

How to disable Bluetooth's Phone Book Access Profile? In WM6.x

I have a problem with synching my HTC Wizard WM6.x *all versions*
Only 36 of the 300 adresses sync.
I know the Bluetooth support from Opel (Vauxhall) is not the best.
But how can I fix this on the WM6 side? WM6 (without PBAP works ok!)
I think I now found the cause:
Windows mobile 6.0 works ok. 6.1 does not.
The main difference (I think) is the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP).
Is there a way to diable this in Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5?
Disabling PBAP support in WM 6.1
It looks like you can disable the PBAP support with a registry hack. Delete the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Obex\Services\{796135f0-f0c5-11d8-0966-0800200c9a66}] key and restart your phone. That should do it.
JimT
I think that did the trick. It took me a while to figure out how to delete this regkey. Could it be you need to disable bluetooth first, and then delete the key?
Would this also work for Windows Mobile 6.5?
Anyone have a clue how to do this on a Pantech Matrix pro. (6.1). My wife has one and the Mygig Uconnect bluetooth module in the van asks if you want to let it have access to the phonebook and I have to say no every time. If i let it connect it will always connect and it causes the phone to be really slow when first getting in the car and for a little whole longer. I did look for that registry key but I could not find it.
Any help would be great.
