Regarding ROM flashing on XDA IIi/Andes

Hi all,
I am a newbie here and read the FAQ section regrading tools for XDA phone. I am wondering if anyone can give me some info regarding this tool "XDAtool". Can this tool being used to flash XDA IIi? I am not talking about custom ROM here, just simple a English offical ROM to Chinese Offical ROM. The reason I asked this is becasuse I have a English version XDA IIi and my friend brought a T Chinese version. Now, he wants to flash his Chinese Version to Eglish because of the transcriber and smartDial features on the English verison. I am thinking if I can use this tool to grab the ROM from my phone and update to his. Thx in advance for any help

rom dump
Hi,
You can use the SD image backup method to dump the CHT rom. To use this method, you need the romupdate.exe, ntrw.exe. Before you begin, backup all your data/contacts first. For details of the method, please look at the following post which describe it step by step:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=19500
And can you upload the SD image to the forum if possible? Thanks.
For your friend to change his CHT XDA2i to English, he can download the following rom
ftp://forum.xda-developers.com/Uploads/O2 Alpine Roms/Modified XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162 Radio_1.3.rar
to upgrade.
Hi Storm,
I 'll do that once I understand that.....you want the Traditional Chinese ROM right?
Thx
Percy

Click to collapse
You can install over the stock ROM but I would suggest a new radio: 2.12.50 works well for many.**You have to hspl3 before flashing the new radio.
Check out the stickied threads on the first page. They will guide you through most of the questions that you have.

You can search this site or use another more basic site. Try this: www.ajudandroid.com.br/2011/11/cyanogenmod-tezet-para-milestone-2.html
If you have to do a restore of the original system, then you need Windows programs (www.appunix.com.br/howto/linux/goog...icar-osreload-de-rom-original-do-motorola-m2/) or use the sbf_flash for Linux (search google).
If you upgraded from the site of Motorola (2.3.6), you are with the new European GB Kernel. Your choices are more restrictive to put custom ROM's. Again, do a search on the site that is packed with information you need to know.
But most importantly, read, read and read all instructions and follow all the steps. You can brick your Milestone unless you know what you're doing.

at first it's really kinda confusing but after when you do the procedure it's really not that hard.
of-course you'll need a PC to connect the phone & Flash the ROM & some other stuff.
his also trying to flash WP7 ROM via Magldr (bootloader) but you can decide either Android or WP7 or Both. It's a good phone to get specially if the price is right
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618353
Yes you install ROMs via CWM if you are running Android from NAND. The HD2 even has a TWPRecovery too. Everything flashes via recovery that is everything that is part of the Android OS. Just to answer your questions.
Oki nw its easy to install cwm and.the boot loader and flash tha radio or what ? Sry for my selly q.
