Hello everyone,
Today my D3G lost it's mind! It started with a message about Voice Command being unable to start ("reinstall and try again", it said.
Then a message stating that my Home Page could not be displayed.
I went to my Settings, and the Home Page settings page will not load ("Error! The settings could not be opened")! Ditto the Sounds page.
Ringtones page from the Chome panel cannot be opened, either.
The Profiles page will open, but it is blank.
Text messaging has disappeared form the Chome panel. I can get to it from the envelope button, but I cannot reply to any texts (option is grayed out).
Phone will not ring, but my BT headset will beep on an incoming call.
This sux!
I had shut the phone down and removed the battery a couple of hours before this started. I left it out for 15 minutes or so and put it back in and rebooted (one of my email servers couldn't be reached and that technique usually fixes that problem). Everything seemed fine at that time.
HELP!!
Thanks, everyone, in advance.

Bupahs, I am going to post this on your web page as well.

My Trion is behaving more strangely than normal. It seems reluctant to go into the Text Messaging app. If I hit reply from a popup it just fails to launch Messaging.
I sometimes hit the Messaging button and it starts to load the app, but then gives up halfway through (softkeys show Messaging shortcuts, but the Today screen is still shown). Otrher times it will go straight in.
Bizarre!
I have Good Messaging installed, but I have reset the Messaging button to start MS Messaging. The issue doesn't seem to be related, but you never know.
TIA for any help,
DBo.
HI all,
I am running PointUI on my Wing in Windows Mobile 6, and yesterday I noticed that I have a phantom unread message in my sms inbox. I say phantom because I have cleared everything out and there shouldn't be anything in there, but the bottom of that inbox screen which gives you the message totals count says 1 unread sms. Also, the PointUI interface is showing a 1 in the sms icon like there is a message, but I can't find it. The indicator LED light is not amber but it's driving me nuts. I have tried several soft boots to see if that corrected the problem and it did not. Also, I have rebooted and not started PointUI and the issue is still there on the windows today screen.
Has anyone ever had this issue? If so, how did you resolve it. Any and all ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie
I have had a similar issue with phantom unread email messages a couple of times. I found a small program on this site which fixed it for me.
Do a search for "fixunreadcount" on this site, and you should find it. If it does not turn up, let me know and I will check to see if I still have a copy saved on my PC.

I couldn't find a program for that and it's still doing it. I've even dropped PointUI and still have the phantom message on the original today screen.

Sorry for the hijack, but I was hoping others who have had this problem could maybe suggest other things to try. I tried the fixunreadcount.exe program, it said it corrected the SMS inbox from 1 to 0, ran it again, came up OK, did a soft-reset and it still shows 1 on the Home screen and says "0 items, 1 unread" in the inbox. Grr. I've tried running the fixunreadcount several times, it corrects from 1 to 0 every time, I've tried the inbox settings registry change that someone in another thread suggested, nothing makes that stupid 1 go away. Maybe it's time to reflash....
EDIT: I ran the fixunreadcount three more times, trying a combination between soft-resetting and powering down, and it FINALLY cleared it! I can now say this program works...eventually!
Thank you, this fixed it for me. After running the program it required a soft reset.
In my situation the actions that led to this situation was that I had sent one SMS to multiple receivers and was "cleaning" the SMS folder by deleting the message received notifications. During this I received other "message received" notifications and as of the result of this the "unread count" remained in "1" (one). My assumption was that one of the deleted notifications was moved from the inbox to the deleted items, but somehow the "system" did not remove it from the inbox. I assume this is a "rare" situation and was partially caused by me accessing the device while I got more notifications. Device was HTC Diamond - first generation and I'm running WM6.1 build 20764.1.4.3.
cheers guys. it fixed my issue on the TP2
For me 2. Thanks.
Hi Folks,
This is a small, seemingly insignificant problem but it's bloody annoying so I'm hoping you can help me solve it:
When I receive a new message (SMS, MMS, Email) the little message shortcut on the desktop get's the little green '1' overlaid to show there's a message. Once I read the message and reply it doesn't disappear. I can open the message in Chomp or the system default app and it doesn't seem to register with the shortcut - it still shows the overlaid green number.
I know this is something of a trifling problem but I have my phone on silent a lot so it does cause some confusion.
Thanks in advance.
i've noticed mine staying on for a while but then disappearing... maybe it sits there for another 10/15 minutes?
Could be. I have to admit that afer about 10 minutes I've been losing patience and deleting the message, which makes it go away.
do u read ur messages through the widget page? cause i noticed that if u do, then the little green ball remains but somehow if u click on the message icon with the green ball to access ur acc and read from there, then it goes away.
I think that may be a factor, yeah. When I read them through the 'drag down' menu, either with chomp or system default it stays, I'll open the next one through the icon and see if that changes things.
I find that the trackball keeps flashing too unless you actually tap on the Messages shortcut icon to read the new messages that come through (as oppose to viewing from the notifications menu or through the text messages widget). I hope HTC fix this issue 'cos not everyone wants to go through the messages app via the Messages shortcut icon.
Yeah, I only used the messaging icon yesterday and it was fine. The problem seems limited to when you use the 'drag-down- menu.
A bit puzzled.
A couple of days ago I found that my phone and switched from using icon alert rather than the text alert I had set in voicemail prefs [I had a couple of text alerts since then].
When I pressed the voicemail shortcut on the keypad it said no number was stored for it [obviously I had used it before with no probs]. I set it again both in the little box that popped up and also in the settings tab. Other calls to voicemail that day were then fine.
Today I tried to call voicemail and had the same error [no number stored] so I again set it in the popup box and subsequent calls to it were fine.
I then found that for the past 5 hours I have received no emails even though gmail has been set to push and hotmail to poll every 30mins [active from 9am; overnight it is manual only]. Went into settings and the "automatically check" had been unticked for all 3 accounts and all had emails from hours ago.
Anyone had this and what might be the culprit [wwe1.66rom]?
I have a similar problem. Today I found out that my some of my email settings were missing and I had to delete the previous accounts and add new accounts for my gmail & yahoo mails. Sometimes even when there is a wifi connection, email won't be downloaded as scheduled. Further, now I am unable to open the full email by pressing on the homescreen (in manila email page) which earlier used to open the full text in outlook. Now it just registers a press but doesn't open outlook. I am running a stock ROM (1.48) and have made some tweaks via BsB, Advanced Config & S. K. Tools. Though the problems mentioned doesn't seem to be because of the tweaks because it used to work well earlier. Should I flash the latest Stock ROM? (am bit wary because I have never flashed any ROM earlier though have jailbroken my iphone many times.) Or if I have to flash, can somebody suggest me a custom ROM which is similar to Stock ROM but more resource efficient and with some essential tweaks.
voicemail icon is set by the network not the phone so you'll need to call your voicemail and check the settings
Sure I know that but it was odd that so many things had been reset at the same time.
today for some reason activesync setting were disabled for my push gmail account
Hey all, today after using Yuki's 7720 ROM for over a month, I found that my phone no longer allows me to send a text message, like as soon as I press send, I still see the cursor blinking, but when I press the back button nothing happens, and the message is still showing & is not sent, i also can not press the send button again...
Another thing I found was with emails, I can receive the header & subject, but it no longer shows the first line of the email message... Also, even after I read it, it still shows as unread, and when I press and hold and select "mark as read" the phone just keeps telling me it's "marking as read" but never completes... I am unsure of what to do now
Anyone with any idea's?
Last thing I installed was Amazon Kindle, I uninstalled it, but still problem persists.
