Reluctant text - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

My Trion is behaving more strangely than normal. It seems reluctant to go into the Text Messaging app. If I hit reply from a popup it just fails to launch Messaging.
I sometimes hit the Messaging button and it starts to load the app, but then gives up halfway through (softkeys show Messaging shortcuts, but the Today screen is still shown). Otrher times it will go straight in.
Bizarre!
I have Good Messaging installed, but I have reset the Messaging button to start MS Messaging. The issue doesn't seem to be related, but you never know.
TIA for any help,
DBo.

Messaging App No Longer Works

This is the 2nd time this has happened. When I hit the email button or the messaging shortcut I get nothing, no error just nothing. Has anyone seen this any ideas...The 1st time I did a hard reset I hate to do that again.

I guess shutting down the tmail.exe app hinders the messaging button from staring up messaging.

6800 pic/vid messaging and phone alarm

I have a PPC6800 and Alltel has been having some issue with Pic/Vid Messaging. They got it fixed today and it all works fine.
The issue I have is:
When i get a pic/vid message i get notify via windows since PA doesnt have any options on the default settings for pic/vid messaging. Anyway, once i get the message and use the windows menu to go to my pic message to view it all works.
Now comes the tricky part. Once I go to the message, view it and close it i go back to the today screen. If i click on my email or txt message icon on PA I can not access my messaging at all, txt, email, even if i go start/messaging it doesnt work. All other features of PA work fine, I can go to VM, missed calls, I can change profiles etc. I can even go into the set up section.
I can use all other aspects of my phone but once I click on PA it locks up my messaging feature.
Now if i open the pic/vid message, view it close it as before all works. Now if I DO NOT click on the email or txt icon on PA I can continue to use messaging fuctions like normail, but the second i tap on the email or txt icon on PA it locks up my messaging functions.
I have tested this 10 times at least and can duplicate it everytime I try it. What I need to know is how to fix this or what do I need to do to get you the information to fix it in the software. It seems it is a PA software issue since when I do not tap on PA icons all works fine. Also taping on the missed call, vm does not create this issue as they remain functional throughout the freeze of messaging.
Anyone else.. can you test this and see what happens on your 6800.
Thanks
Do you mean, tapping the messaging icon in phone alarm's today plugin doesn't open the messaging window/program?

phone alarm
Correct. when i tap in the phonealarm plug in it only clicks and the same on sms icon.
Once i tap those i cant do any messaging functions until i soft reset to kill PA program totally.

SMS/email Questions (htc home, palm threaded sms)

I have htc home installed. I love the way palm threaded sms works, but it gets really annoying at times. is there any way to set it up so that when i hit the text button on htc home it opens JUST my sms inbox, and when i hit the email button, it opens JUST my email? right now, it opens the main messaging window, as well as the text or email window whenever i hit either of those buttons.
also, when palm threaded sms is installed, my text message inbox opens itself about every 10 minutes on its own, does anyone know how to stop this?
if not, does anyone know of another sms program? the one that comes on the mogul is really slow and ugly, i dont even care if its threaded, i just want something faster and possibly better looking than the built in one

Click to collapse
Load up your emai/sms ap, menu -> tools -> settings untick "display account picker"
well that solved the problem of it opening the picker, but it created another problem. now the email icon on the htc home plugin just opens text message inbox as well. is there a way to set what those buttons open? Also, is there a way to delete this "Outlook E-mail" account?
thanks for your reply isix

SMS reply keyboard error

Hello.
I've noticed a small but annoying error that occurs
when selecting 'reply' [to an SMS] from the touchflo menu
when tapping on the SMS message in touchflo to open it and then trying to reply
the SMS appears, the keyboard shows for a couple of second then automatically hides itself. Tapping on the keyboard icon at the bottom opens it again, but only for a few seconds then it will auto hide. So there is no way to enter text for a reply.
The only solution is to open the SMS inbox, then open the SMS (the keyboard appears and doesn't auto hide in this case).
Have I described the scenario ok?
anyone know how to fix this, makes the device useless for SMS and email
yea ive noticed.. but i just say to hide it and then click on the msg box then open it back up.. or just w/e... haha its a bit annoying but doesn't happen all the time

[Q] TM-HTCMT4G Messaging works, but "window" never loads

Model T-Mobile myTouch 4G
driod ver 2.3.4
HTC sense ver 2.1
software# 2.32.531.1
The problem appears to be with the actual message "screen" handler, when going to messages, at the top it says all messages, with the search icon, and below that is has the compose message button, but no messages actually display below there, it does nothing.
Clicking compose message takes you to the normal text screen and allows you to choose a contact to message, you can enter the text and it will send telling you "loading" and stops(hangs) there, the message does actually send.
The only workaround I've found for it is to go to contacts, select a person, and then hit the messages button...this will display the list of messages with that person but nothing else. Clicking the menu and hitting compose(or the "tap to reply") button get's you a prompt to select the program to handle it, messages or fb messenger, clicking messages gets more spinning of the "loading" prompt and the phone hangs at that point...I've searched this forum for about an hour now and have not seen this described.
.I'll be reading the guide for my model in hopes of a reply coming before the teenager with the axe..lol. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

You can try clearing the data on messaging, but you will lose your messages. If there is a hangup (I know, I know) somewhere in the app it might fix it.
Otherwise, for phantom errors with no apparent fix, a factory reset will usually fix you up.
To clear data, go to Settings>Apps>Messages and click "Clear Data."
