Trackball Pulse Notification... - Nexus One General

I was wondering if there was any way to make it so that the trackball blinks more often than it does when I have a notification (especially email)? It really irritates me how slow the rate is... I have to stare at it for like 10 seconds to know if I have a new message.

I think this app has some settings inside that may make the trackball do this....

The same guy has an app that JUST allows you to change how often the trackball links and nothing else:

Thank you but that application seems a bit too young and buggy.

Sorry for that, sure- The LED Notification colors are now changed to multiple colors if you look closely, they aren't green or red anymore, pretty limited but still kinda cool.
You may have to watch it full screen to get the full effect.
As i was in need to charge to my phone, i also had noticed the LED light for charging was different as well! This is really cool...check it out
well can someone tells us how we can make this happen???
not really sure yet, my friend who had done this to my phone hasn't been around, ill find out asap
This is pretty cool but I think its worthless to post if your not asking how to do it or showing us how to do it. But great hack!

That's for the right-side LED... the video in this thread shows the colors changing on the left-side LED. It would be really nice to be able to control both, set different colors for different notifications, etc.
Yeah I had that since winmo 5 lmao

Hmm well since your not sure what exactly your friend installed I'm ruling out the possibility of it being an app, The other way I think of how he doing that is figure out what file governs the led color change it's probably an edit.

If it is an app then finding out how it's done would be even easier, all he has to do is post screenshots of the apk's in his /system/app folder.
I'm pretty sure we have confirmed that the physical LED can only do two colors, red and green. So it must be a hardware hack.
Not sure how to install it on the evo
Check this thread out if you want to physically change your led's to blue or completely different color..this requires taking evo apart and and swapping the led's if you feel confident enough..I remembered seeing this thread and thought I'd post it.

Yeah but that always freaks me out, thinking its going to burn my screen out. I know it probably won't, but I freak out.
Also why would one need an LED light on a tablet?

Why wouldn't you want useful things?
Out of curiosity, which tablets do have notification LEDs? I've tried searching but it's come up vague.
i've yet to see any tablet with an LED.
It's not needed as much on a tablet as on the phone with missed calls and texts.
NoLED should suffice just fine. And NoLED combats burn-in by having an option to move the notification around so it's never using the same pixel for long.
ive had noled on all s1 and s2 and s3 and i have never had any problems with it and now they have themes!!

I mean I wouldn't mind an LED light at all, but I see more of a use for it on a phone (unread text, missed call) than a tablet. I always have new emails so I don't know what it would really notify me of.

NoLED is really only for OLED screens, on an IPS it will run your battery bone dry in double time
Notification lights for things like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter
My HP Touchpad has an LED...
Idea, is it not possible to make a costum ROM with a function, "use screen as notification LED"?
I do not mind that there is no LED. I have a U20I thats runs so slow, that any replacement for android gaming is good for me .
My current tablet has capacitive keys and I use backlight notifications, so not having BLN will take a little getting used to.

NoLED has an option to not turn the screen on when the proximity sensor is "close", so you can just keep the tablet face down when it's not on the charger.

You don't need a custom ROM. NoLED will do what you want.

in screen notification light

Do you think that it would be possible to make a virtual notification light on the screen?
Like, lighting up a few pixels right beside de notch that blinks like a real notification light.
I've had this idea for a few days, but I don't know how to make it possible.
Thanks

I have tried both alternatives to the lack of one on the 6T. Nice apps ,but just not working out for me .. considering all the posts on the subject, does OP have any plans for a fix/update, @funkwizard? Thanks in advance

I'll be honest, I don't miss the LED notification. It really frees me to not be a slave to the phone. I use Mighty Text on the phone and at least while I'm home, notifications will show up on my laptop. The last few days I've been using their Chrome plugins which adds more notifications to the desktop, but I'm about ready to uninstall that because it can be really annoying.
I miss the LED terribly but haven't had time to look at the software alternatives. I often need to have the phone completely silent/no vibration, and not being able to see what's going on via varicolored strobing LED is a miss. Love the phone otherwise, but I really gotta sort out a solution using ambient display or some such, without killing the battery.

Plusbeat. I've tried pretty much every other app none of them work well but that one.
Plusbeat is the best one. Love it

I actually despise when people post

Confirmation number blah blah blah!"
Because i ponder and ponder and fail to see any other reason than bragging; however, I'm only doing this to convince you of how much i like the app! Do note, this isn't a premium i paid to unlock functionality, it's just well deserved, in my opinion...

It's a app that lights up the edge of your screen when a notification comes in. It can also light up the Status Bar area if you are in another app.

Horizon Light

Has anyone got this working on the OP8Pro? I note that there is some reported problems after the most recent Android update but I have seen mixed reports about whether it actually works at all?
If not is there any WORKING alternatives?

Does it only do it once too? If so that's a bit daft as you have to be looking at that exact moment

But it only pulses once which seems a bit daft. Anyway to change that?
Also, it doesn't seem to work with anything other than actual texts. No email, no WhatsApp etc
This is how horizon light works...
Just pulses once when a notification comes...
Only one time...
Doesn't work as a LED notification...
Otherwise it will **** the battery

So you've got to check your phone on a whim now to see if you have a notifications. Brilliant design.

It's there a Magisk mod to make it persist say every 30 seconds? Or even choose which apps it works with? Having it pulsing overnight because a bit of spam got emailed to me would suck.
