This might be a stupid question but did everyone else's sd card have some random songs on it like amanda blank, follow me down, and ali spagnola? My sd card had this on it when I received it. I initially thought they just did that for demo reasons but it does seem strange. Did I get a used micro SD with my Nexus one? It was already in the phone when I received it from google.
This is the micro sd that shipped with the phone.
Thanks,
Dave
it comes with that stuff
I had black eye pees and some other artists, DELETED them all.
I'm really addicted to follow me down!
Yeah, mine came with a buch of crap on it, then I took the 4 gig with the crap on it and formatted it and put it in a g1(properly partitioned of course). Then I popped an 8 gig in my N1.
Music on there is pretty good actually.
(assume you like music)

Same here, the 4 gig is only class 2, & my 8 already had 3.5g of music.

I found this funny for some reason
@ OP, I made a post about the original music that came on the card. You can find it around here somewhere. Check my post history
i plan to toss the 4gb in my gf's g1 and grab a 16gb class 6 to put in my nexus one when i get it, the 5th cant come fast enough... feel like a crack head needing a fix
I deleted all the music on it , then added a Music folder & dumped all my songs in it
Ok, I know I heard / read some information regarding users having wallpapers dissapear after the OTA update, however I thought I wasn't a victim, perhaps I was.
However, I have lost 1,000+ images (mostly a large group of wallpapers I had downloaded and hardly looked through) off of my SD card. In addition to wallpapers random pictures are missing that I had taken with my phone.
Mostly curious if anyone had similar experiences? If so, did you deduce they were OTA related, or a specific app? I really don't want this to happen again, so I am looking for any information to help solve this
I am running stock EVO not rooted, for what that is worth.
Thanks in advance!
Update - Apparently all my MP3s have gone missing off my SD card as well

Woww, this just started happening to me. I have not updated my EVO yet.
Is there a way to trace down what the devices does, like a log where it shows activities between the device and the SD Card.
Just curious if you're using the micro SD card that came with the EVO or a newly purchased one, if so please mention card.

I was using the one it came with, as a matter fact, I went to Newegg and purchased a new one 16GB Class 6. I already lost a lot of important pictures. I dont want to take more chances.

Let's hope it's as simple as that, let us know.
Somewhat surprised people are still reporting this issue..

Mine is full rooted, not updated so far, with a A-DATA 16 GB Class 6 microSDHC Flash Memory Card and yesterday i lost the whole 100MEDIA directory so.....it seems to be a Evo issue
Could it be an internal issue in the Device? I dont think this has to do with the ROM/Update the device is running.
We need to escalate this as a crucial issue.
I am running [ROM]EVO-NonSense(AOSP Elements), rooted using Toast Method 2, Amon RA, with Calkulin Radio+WiMAX updates.
We should stay on top of this, I'd rather not have WTF moments or develop compulsions to constantly back up all files in some paranoid fashion..
I am using the stock SD card that came with my EVO, thankfully I was able to user some forensic programs and recover most of my images. I did narrow down the time frame of the deletions, however I was unable to determine If I had added any new apps to cause this issue.

What appl did you use?
I used Access Data FTK Imager and made an image of my SD card then from the image recovered what I could of deleted files, and pushed them back onto the SD card when finished.
Link - FTK Imager about half way down the page.
Does anyone have a backup copy of the files that was on the MicroSD card when they first received the phone? I zapped mine and need to get another copy.
Thank you!
actually, i pulled mine out almost immediately, but i can upload it for you. i just picked up mine yesterday to see how it does against my epic 4g.

THANK YOU! I was really stupid - I didn't listen to everyone's gripes about the G2 and returned my MT4G in favor of the G2... Needless to say, the hinge problem is my complaint too, so I'm getting the MT4G back tomorrow (same one) - BUT - before I handed it in I formatted the MicroSD card.
I had a copy of it stored on my hard drive here until late last night - I should never have gotten rid of it!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
send you a link via pm.

something like a request for stock files should really have the files posted to the thread instead of PMed. It could potentially help a lot more people that way.

Great, Thanks for this.
I just randomly looked at my account and just over 150 people downloaded that file I put up lol... seems a lot of people made that same mistake / or 1 person made the same mistake a ton of times lol

This post contains a zip of the original SD card contents that shipped with MT4G
I am not the original poster, but non of the threads have the link in the first post.
If a mod can merge this thread with this one it would be appreciated.

This may also may be people with different phones that want to try the Rock Band trial seeing as there are no videos or opinions of it online, and when you try an run the apk it tells you to insert the sd card bundled with the phone. Thanks for the upload.
Please post all questions in Q&A section.

they should be the same (fat32) even if you added a partition you should still be able to just put it in the mt4g without any problems
Stock unrooted tmobile -- 64gb Sandisk Ultra
I loaded around 50gb of music on my sd card but now my main music apps crash and more than once an hour cause the phone to reboot. Tried incrementally loading after a SD card reformat and everything went haywire around 30gb. This should be able to handle the whole library, right?
Stock
PlayerPro
WinAmp
Update
Now Wicked Rooted, great rom but didn't fix this issue
Bumping since it still happens, anyone else dealt with this?

have you checked the card to make sure it's a fully legit 64GB?

Same card here, formatted to exFat, 49 GB of music, never had a problem. I use PlayerPro, and used the same card with PowerAmp on my Note 2.
A PITA I know, but tried a reformat?
51GB on a 64GB Sandisk, using N7player. No issues.

Each time I reformat it works like a charm until I hit around 30gb of music then the apps crash when scrolling through lists or shuffling the entire library. That's why I was worried it was a kink with the phone itself, managing long lists seems to be what sets it off...

Are you reformatting as exFAT ?
Also could be worth reading this

Also perhaps try reformatting with this app

Hello there,
My Sd Card Recently unmounted unsafely through boot.
I was using the rom Omega v25, SD was damaged.
Is there any solution to fixing it?
I had tried formatting it but there is no media to format.
Any help would be appreciated.
I can not see it in recovery totally invisible, Ive tried mounting it through Phone settings and it will not mount.
Can not mount it through recovery either.
It does not show up in Partition Wizard for me to change the format.
I Have attached a Image for what it shows in disk management.

It sounds like what happened to my sandisk card, just randomly unmounted and that was it. Phone wouldn't read it, PC wouldn't even pick it up either, totally dead. I contacted sandisk customer support and they replaced it as it was still under warranty.

Ridata yes. Isnt enough good for you? Or you only know Samsung maybe? Rude. Learn some culture. Ridata is a subcompany of Ritek (but you dont know nothing about either for sure, lol) around the world, no only of SD Cards: HERE
*EDIT: Im not here for waste my time with idiotic people. Bye then :highfive:
Yes yes yes... if I can add, I'm just awaiting for my super duper 128GB micro SDXC card which will be delivered to me by man with big red flag and trumpet, followed by special courier riding the golden donkey. They have to move slowly on motorways, so they are moving in the police escort, but today, finally, I will have my card.
did I mentioned that it will have the warranty covering the lifetime of 4 generations?
Going back to topic: I always think that ppl can be divided into the two categories:
Cat 1: those who are making backups regularly;
Cat 2: those who will learn that they shall do...

Of course I know Ritek. A brand that also makes writeable media. A brand I also avoid like the plague as it's substandard.
So, still waiting for an a-brand micro SD card, 32GB, 5 pounds.
Anxious!!!
