Maybe I'm overlooking this but isn't there a way within the gmail client on phone to select a group to email all at once?
Seems simple like in messaging (Handcent) when you create a message it gives the option to select an individual contact or a group of contacts from your gmail account.... but I can't seem to find this feature within the phone's gmail client? There's a group of 5 people I email very often and and have them in a contact group on my google account but I hate having to enter each one by one!
Was just wondering where I'm going wrong or if anyone knows the trick?
Thanks
**Edit: Having the same problem within the google voice client on the phone as well, can't select multiple contacts to sms at the same time.....

Anyone use the online address book feature of the messaging program? I want my contacts from my different email sources. I could type them into outlook but would prefer something more automatic. Open up a messaging account like Gmail then choose menu - tools - options. Then the 3rd tab is address. Try to add an address book. Thanks
I had seen some tool, can't remember name!
It's allow to synchronize your contacts with internet!
So you can easy recover all your data, even if you PC will be formated

I think I am asking the question wrong. What I was hoping to do was to use my contacts I have on gmail or yahoo. When I type an email on my phone the only contacts I can pull up are the ones in my contacts under outlook.
Now I could copy the email accounts but the nice feature of Yahoo and Gmail (and many other email accounts) is that they will automatically add new addresses.
Now back to my original question. On our phone is a place to put a server address for an online address book. Anyone use this feature to tap into either yahoo or gmail address book?
Thanks
I currently organise my mail into their respective folders, so they don't appear in the inbox.
WIth the X1, it doesn't notify you when you have a new message in any folder, it only notifies you when you have a new message in the inbox only.
I think it would quite useful if a program was developed to create a same notification when an email arrives in any folder in Outlook on teh X1, not just in the inbox.
Any suggestions?
I've had the same problem. The way I solved it was to go to your settings in Gmail (from the web, not your phone) and forward all incoming mail to your Hotmail account. If you don't have one, get one. Now when your phone syncs with hotmail, You will get all your email as they arrive.....And Your Gmail mail will be untouched still in their folders. There's really no need to check Gmail anymore as all your mail is forwarded to one account (Hotmail).
I prefer to use Gmail as my primiary account and don't like having so many email accounts.
I'm sure this is just a case of tell the phone to notify you when ANY folder has a new message in it.
does anyone know how to link up all your emails to one universal inbox a la blackberry??
The E-mail application has a combined inbox and combined starred.

But its not combined with google right? I see a separate app for Google push mail.
Just configure Gmail (using your PC) and add your various email accounts ("Accounts and import" settings tab). It automatically adds different labels for each email, thus on your Android phone you will see each email message in your inbox labeled accordingly. It is also good to check the "Reply from the same address the message was sent to"
check box in "Accounts and import" settings tab(using your PC).
This is how I used my G1 before selling it in order to buy a Nexus One
I realize that this is a google question, but also I noticed that on the N1 gmail client, I am NOT receiving the imported/forwarded mail from my old outside POP3 accounts that are normally (still) pulled into my web-based list of new mail on my primary gmail account.
Does anyone know why, or if there is a way to to fix this? The imported messages are not being pushed to the N1.
[UPDATE: It seems to have taken a while, but all of my imported POP3 mail is now being imported/pushed from my primary gmail account to the N1... thank you gmail!]
Hello- new to android, coming from a hd2
here is my set up:
I have a .mac account for my personal account.
I have gmail only for google voice.
I also am linked to facebook.
I use the phone mostly for work with ms exchange. I dont like the interface that samsung/2.1 offers so I am testing touchdown. So far so good.
issues/questions
I have both Touchdown and the android exchange set up so I can compare the differences. Not sure if this is recommended or not? also not sure if I should disable one or not??
1) contacts- when I am using dialer to call someone it - goes to the work fax # as default not the cell or even office #. How do I change the order for all contacts at once? I can do it individually but have 400 contacts. It doesnt give me an option to see all the #'s to chose from like in windows. Does this have something to do with the way it synced with ms exchange server's contacts?
Very annoying! any work arounds? any better way to quickly call or return a call? I typically use dialer and start dialing the persons name.
2) personal email- when I set up my .mac account it made a folder called personal email on my homescreen (great!) i mistakenly dragged it to the trash. Now when I add the email program to the Homescreen, when I open it gives mes 2 options. I want to get back my own personal email folder- any options?
3) I only use gmail to read my voicemails using google voice. Is there a way I can sync my ms exchange contacts (phone contacts) to the gmail cloud so I have them in multiple places?
Thanks in advance!
M
3. Export your contacts from Outlook (into CSV) and import them into GMAIL (Google has instructions on how to do it)
Hi I use the stock email program on my nexus 7 ( not gmail) does anybody know if you can set up more folders under the inbox so I can keep certain emails in their, so not clogging up the main inbox. If not can anybody recommend an alternative email program. Thanks

I have the same problem. I want to keep some Emails on my device. It seems to be NOT POSSIBLE.
What app can do this?:fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance for any reaction.:good:
You could use Gmail to sign in and collect your other email accounts. You can create new labels (folders) from your pc in Gmail and sync them to the N7. You can move emails to whatever folder you want and can setup rules to have them go there. Any non-Gmail account is identified with a tag. You can have the retrieved emails deleted from the original server or keep them. I use Gmail to get my Yahoo emails and my ISP account emails. Everything in one app, identified by account. You can also have Gmail use any of the accounts to 'send from'. On the pc in Gmail, hit the menu icon (gear wheel), choose settings, Accounts & Import to add your credentials to retrieve emails from other accounts.
