Sleep Function - Nexus One General

Hey, just wondering if there are any apps or features on my nexus that have a sleep function ? (It shuffles music for X amount of time then turns the music off)

A Online Radio (that plays Shoutcast, etc., streams) has a sleep function. It doesn't play your local music tracks, but maybe it will serve your purpose?

Is there such a customizing tool for music player?

I use my music player quite a lot, and am looking for ways to improve on the experience on Android phones.
What I wish to do is to be able to control the music in the following ways, regardless of whether the screen is turn off or on, and regardless of whether the music program is running in the foreground or background.
- long press volume up button: go to next song
- long press volume down button: goo to previous song
- press both button together: toggle between play and pause.
- normal volume up and down still controls the volume
I found a program in the market place, but it only works when the music player is in the foreground, and the screen must be on.
I use this feature a lot on my iPhone before bed, and hope I can do the same on my SGS.
Is there such a program you're aware of in the Market place?
that's interesting
however, I find it easier using my Bluetooth A2DP for that sort of things.
it works both in my car and my stereo headset
i can remote control the play of the music before/next, stop, pause, play, random, volume, etc
best is, if a phone comes in, it automatically switches to phone mode, and when the call is over, it resumes back to music mode.
The only single problem i've found is, i don't know now to answer the 2nd call via bluetooth, if 2 people are calling me at the same time.
I don't use Bluetooth. Also, I love connecting the music player to a proper sounding speaker system in my bedroom and lounge.

[Q] How do I browse the web and play music at the same time?

Hey gang, new TF owner here. I want to play an MP3 in Winamp and surf the net at the same time. How come every time I go to switch applications (by leaving Winamp running, I just hit the home button to start a new app) - the music stops playing.
I'm a little disappointed that I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Anyone have this figured out?
I don't know about WinAMP, but I use the Google Music app and the music doesn't stop when switching apps.
Winamp also plays music in the background, regardless of app switching. Even continues playback even while the screen is turned off, if I recall.
Mine doesn't stop or exit music keeps playing and a notification is added to the bar.
I can confirm on my tablet, Winamp does not keep playing when I switch apps. If it matters, I am using the headset port. Maybe I'll try it without the headset and see if it does.
Maybe the headset port shuts off when the screen goes into sleep mode.
Ok yes, when I am NOT using the headset port, apps play in the background. However, when I use the headset port, the music shuts off when the app is switched (and also when the screen goes into sleep mode).
What's up with that?
I haven't tried Winamp specifically, but every other music app plays in the background no problem with or without headphones plugged in. Music, TuneIn Radio, and iHeartRadio are three that come immediately to mind.
I just download Winamp so I can test and WITH headphone I can multitask and listen to music just fine.
Music still play when screen shut off also.
My built in music player is the same way.

Stock Music Player no deep sleep problem

While listing to music from the stock music player with eq the phone does not go into deep sleep is this normal? I had been listening to 1-2hrs music today and yesterday and both times the same pattern was seen. I have tried restarting it and even tried to restore it but still no deep sleep when music is playing from stock music player
Is this normal ?
Why would the phone enter deep sleep state when you're listening to music, regardless of your music source???

Because my 3 year old HTC M8 goes to deep sleep while playing songs using the stock player. I think it use's Low power audio to achieve this so either the S8 lacks it or I have done something wrong in the settings.

Music "playing", but no sound after sleep resume

I have a very recent Android 10 PX6 unit (android build 20200706, MTCE_GS_V3.53_3) with a very painful problem. If i'm playing music (say in Youtube Music) after an ignition off/on event when the unit comes out of sleep (not cold boot) the music app time bar is still progressing like it is "playing", but there is no sound. Often i can even change tracks, fast forward etc. and still have no sound. I have to either a) kill the app and start it again, or b) open the native radio app (which always works flawlessly), then switch back to the music app. At ALL times, the system sounds are working e.g. button pushes, so there's nothing wrong with the hardware. I suspect the sleep mechanism is taking the audio channel away from the music app and not giving it back after resume. The radio app is different because it is playing from the MCU (i think).
Any ideas on how to have music resume correctly?

Music players not saving playback position - SWM8802

I'm looking for a music player app that will successfully restart playback from (approximately) the position where it was when I switch off the car.
In the past, on my old Android 2.1 unit, I used Music Folder Player, and it did pretty good. But on the SWM8802 I'm fiddling with, it only seems to save once per track, not each time the unit is turned off. This would probably be OK if I only had 3-4 minute music tracks, but some files I have are over an hour long, and my driving trips are normally 5-6 minutes each time.
I've also tried:
Pulsar, which doesn't seem to save the time at all, even after I've set it to do so on 3 minute or longer tracks.
Double Twist just crashes before it even shows anything.
Google Play Music takes ages to start up and always starts from 0:00
Any suggestions?
Edit: Never mind - it looks like the stock music app works well enough for what I want. Not sure how I missed that all this time
