At this moment im playing with a nexus one (tmobil). I have a evo 4g with sense and bugless beast rom. The rom made my phone snappier and i have not use a task killer or rebooted it since i installed the rom. This rom (i have not try other roms yet) is still has fast as day one when it was install. Playing with the nexus one and the stock 2. 1 rom is actually choppier than mt evo. Scrolling and on the web. This is my sister phone and rhe only app she has install is app killer and some games. I did a reboot to see if would make a different and still choppier than my evo. I played on both raging thunder 2. And both ran about the same with similar fps. The onlt different is the nexua screen look alive with more vibrant color.
I believe that with a custom rom the nexus is faster but the nexus has been out for a long time already. In my opinion, the evo 4g will be just has good. Give it a few month cause this is only thebbeginning for the phone.
since getting the froyo update it seems games are not smooth, while i figured the opposite would be the case....need for speed runs a bit jerky and angry birds doesn't run all that well either. both games run much better on the fascinate but i'm returning that phone...waaaaaaaaaay too many issues, just not worth it.
does anyone else have similar issues?
btw, my phone isn't rooted and otherwise it flies. i've also tried with launcer pro, same results.
i 've been used all the kernels from huanyu and michyprima, hastarin and mdeejay..and so many builds!i saw that all kernels still has a ts issue most in gaming experience
it would be great if the devs could work somehow on it more ..
also..i like very much to have a live wallpaper without issue on scroling pages..but always when a live wallpaper setting up screen has ts issue !i know its a known bug and must put a simple wallpaper so u can have better performance..!
So..
what u think?is there a way to fix the bugs for better gaming experience such as asphalt and nova etc..
and scrolling through pages with a live wallpaper can be smoother???
thanks for your time for reading this ..
i hope not to get flamed...i know devs has so much to work on kernels..!i just made a simple request for the people who have the same experience and they need the same fix as me
Or..is there a way to fix that by myself something that i didnt know it????
the ts freezes ****s gaming experience up, thats true.. and sad. lets have a bit more patience on this
but hey.. the live wallpapers are killing the performance of android.. doesnt matter on wich phone. some friends got desires, and all of them has the live wallpaper off. if they set it on, it laggs even more than on my hd2!!
and the same on my nexy! live wallpaper make it laggy >.<!
so..lets hope for a fix so we can play smoother gaming
about live wallpapers i didnt know that the ts issue also exist and in nexus one device and desire too...!so if it is like that..then i'll pass it
too bad because there are so nice live wallpapers wich can be costumizable in you likes and use it as wallpapers such as nexus revamped and u can use your own wallpapers and make the lines pass like the nexus one original
panoplanet live wallpapers is also nice which u use panoramic wallpapers and it looks soooo amazing..too bad screen lags with live wallpapers and drains much more faster the battery!
thanks...
You might want to try formatting your SD card to a 32K Cluster Size, I saw it recommended in these forums, tried it myself, and have been playing without issues since they did the TS Fix.
Ive been playing A LOT Pocket Legends (Multi-Touch MMORPG game ) and Ive had zero issues with it. Asphalt run awesome, but I must admit I unistalled it after trying Raging Thunder 2 and NFS: Shift, Glyder 2 works amazingly well too. No Accelerometer or TS fixes in either of those.
I always do a Format to 32K Cluster Size before trying a new ROM, the best one if used so far is MDJ 1.7. Trying right now the HD build

Pocket Legends is probably the most demanding game of all of those, and it runs perfectly, even with LOTS of people on screen. The issue with Asphalt seems to be the GFXs engine. NFS Shift looks way better than Asphalt and it doesnt lag at all, and I played NOVA for about an hour without any screen lag, same for Toonwarz, so dunno
Formatting to a 32K cluster size helps sometimes since it tends to increase the read/write timings at the expense of smaller files occupying a bit more of space, but in the end it pays off imo.
Some TS issues have been found to be directly linked with SD speeds and high CPU loads, so you might wanna try a faster card if available just to be sure
I really dunno what else to suggest ya, Im currently playing more with my HD2 than my PSP (its actually collecting Dust since Android got installed lol)
I could suggest ya trying out this Build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823491
With that stock kernel and everything, pretty much the most stable Build I've ever used.
Hope it helps
U guys have cm builds ? I get it on all cm builds , but none of the sense builds (otherwise id have cm myself)

anyone if use a HD build can tell how is the gaming experience rather the simpe sense builds???i wanna try sense HD build but dunno if its faster or not than simple old sense!!!
a little off topic
i just orderes an iphone 3g from ebay for 150 dollars
@edangel
The iPhone 3G (or even the 3GS) couldn't tap the HD2.
I'm running the GB sbf and overclocked at 1250MHz/62 vsel. One particular game is Fruit Ninja by Halfbrick and the number of swipes and lags makes the game pretty much unplayable.
I have tried it on a clean boot and the same performance issues exist (it was the same before they released multi-touch support in the game as well). Has anyone else found similar problems?

Ok, I tried two other games Raging Thunder 2 and Hyper Jump. Raging Thunder 2 simply switched the phone off after about 20 seconds (tried three times same outcome). Hyper Jump was also unreliable so I unrooted and removed the overclocking and the games have become more stable but not bulletproof and all seem to suffer intermittent lags. Does anyone think this is simply a hardware issue or another added advantage of motoblur?

Nice one
This is what I experienced so far. Downloaded Fruit Ninja few days before it got multi touch. Found it really laggy and wanted to give it back but was too late for a refund. Then I updated my version when multi touch came along. It was better but not really smooth.
Once I disconnected my internet connection it once again became smoother but not as it is on iPhone/iPod Touch. But now it is absolutely playable and I'm getting very good at it.
I have the German Version, unrooted and not overclocked. Of course, I swear that Motoblur makes it lag as well.
What I recommend to do:
1-disconnect internet and try
2-back to stock, maybe downclock cpu and try
3-if not yet, update Fruit Ninja
4-Try to disable Motoblur with TitaniumBackup. There is a thread floating around here in the forums.
Keep us updated with any progress =)
Regarding other games I don't know.
I don't have my Milestone 2 yet, but from what I've read re MotoBlur it is a complete POS, and I would probably lean towards that causing lag on the phone as reports from people who have removed MotoBlur say the phone is now incredibly fast and responsive.
Remove MotoBlur:

No problems for me playing fruit ninja and Raging Thunder 2, on my M2 @ 1,2Ghz with UK sbf and all motoblur services and home kicked off with Titanium backup

It seems this is the way to go, I'll give it a go at some stage but it isn't critical as I use a Nokia N900 as my daily. Would love to have Maemo5 with Milestone hardware
I managed to remove the packages as Shellite recommends in this thread and performance is now outstanding.
The method isn't optimal from an aesthetic point of view but it does do exactly as intended. Just be aware that if you remove things like the blur widgets you still get the option to add them to your desktop but when selected they don't do anything.
Another thing I noticed in contacts and other areas where linking to social networking features all goes a little pear shaped if you have removed those services.
Anyway, it works well but until a nice clean rom is available the M2 won't be replacing my N900 anytime soon
Just upgraded from Froyo EC05 4.0.0 Bonsai to Gingerbread Legendary EI22 RC2.1. I'm loving the ROM, but for one thing: the EA game Deadspace no longer works I just get a completely white screen, but can hear the sound.
Anyone else running it on GB, and even better Legendary ROM?
I've got Chainfire3D installed and configured exactly the same as it was on Froyo, with the QUALCOMM plugin. All my other games are working fine. In fact, I'm thrilled to report that Shadowgun works on EI22 (Legendary, at least, haven't tried any other GB ROMs, including the stock update) with the NVIDIA Chainfire3D plugin.
Stutters a little here and there (after all, the E4G doesn't have the graphics horsepower the game was designed for), but it is totally playable, and a lot of fun. Took a risk and bought the game from the market, and it didn't work on Froyo. I plan to get a Galaxy Nexus this month, so I wasn't too disappointed (it'll run on the GN). I was surprised and delighted when it did work on GB on my old Epic 4G!
