Bad sound mixing quality over Bluetooth when playing music and running navigation - HD2 General

Hi!
With my HD2 I experience a very bad sound mixing quality when listening to music (HTC Music Player) and using Navigation software at the same time with audio routed through bluetooth.
Sound quality over bluetooth is brilliant in general when EITHER running the music player OR getting the spoken commands of a navigation software.
But running both together ends up in very bad quality when the navigation commands are played. As the navigation commands occur the music volume is decreased , which i find very good. But the commands sound very cracky with much distortion on the higher frequencies. It hurts in the ears! The commands seem to be way louder than the music so I think a solution could be to lower the volume.
But I cannot do that! Music volume and volume settings in my navigation software does not have any effect. The bluetooth audio has always the same volume.
I assume that the navigation command are treated as system sounds because other (system) sounds also decrease music volume while they are played. Btw I tried TomTom and Navigon
Does anybody have an idea how I can decrease the volume of the system sounds? Or at least the volume that comes from the navigation software?
I have the original ROM 1.66.407.1, Radio 2.06.51.07

Same issue, I got.
Im gone try to reduce the volume of the (spoken) audio files.

How can you reduce the vol of the voices? I mean in the voices folder are just .chk and .vif files (TomTom) and .nfs files (Navigon)!?!

Indeed, I tried without luck.
I haven't been able to open the .nfs files of navigon, yet.

here is also some talking about the loud voices:

f1rick normalized some voices for CoPilot Navigator:

Anyway, I would like some registry value or tool or ... to decrease the system sound / navigation voice volume in general.
Anybody?

I freakin love XDA, normalizing the .ogg files worked beautifully for me too...

Mp3 playback via speaker or wired headphones - Hiss

Just want to find out whether this is normal.
There is a hiss during mp3 playback on my TyTN. Using the audio manager and WMP, the hissing is there on mp3 playback even when you have the program and system volume at zero.
In coreplayer and TCPMP the hissing is only when you have the volume above zero, and the hissing doesn't get louder or softer depending on volume. So its not the quality of the song. Tested with both mp3 and WMA.
Note that I am using wired headphones (Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3) through a HTC y-splitter, but I know its not the splitter or headphones because its the same through the phones speaker.
Its not a terrible sound, but you know its there. Is this something TyTN owners have just learnt to live with or is there some sort of software fix? Or is the solution to just turn the volume up so you can't hear it?
So do people just live with this background noise?

Yes - i reckon so - i searched and searched for a solution to the hiss I'm experiencing with a pair of super.fi pro 5's.
Also the minimum volume is too high with Pocket Music Player (unless you turn the preamp down - which reduces the volume without reducing the hiss!), WMP, mortplayer and HTC audio manager.
I get best results with tcpmp.
Still ... the audio is better than my plantronics stereo bluetooth headset even with the best a2dp setting.
Super.fi's are superb played through a mini disc player!
If you find a solution please post it!!
Hiss...we don't have no stinkin hiss!
Try using a player called Pocket Music. I have virtually no audible hiss. It also has a really nice graphic eq similar to Winamp that allows full control including hiss reduction if you pull back the upper most slider about 4db below center line.
I am using VP3G 3.2 and I run my bitrates at 128, or 320. Could you possibly be encoded below 128?
Convert is correct, I had to tamp the preamp gain way back in Pocket Music to have a good range of volume control too.
What phones are you using?

I get hiss and I'm encoding at between 192 - 256 kbps. Malkatraz mentioned the phones above - not sure about the splitter.
For what it's worth there seems to be no difference between tcpmp0.81RC1 Beta and Pocket Music Player except tcpmp is free (the equalizer was disabled in the freeware Pocket Music Player i downloaded).
PS. the attenuator that comes with the Super.fi 5 pro's gets rid of the hiss but the sound is slightly flatter.

Any volume boost app for SYSTEM volume??

I am listening to streaming radio and transferring the sound to my bluetooth headset, but often even with headset, media player, and physical system volume turned up to maximum, it is barely audible.
Is there any app that works on the WM6 Touch/Vogue that will increase the overall system volume, rather than the call-talking volume, so that things like music and streaming radio can be made louder than the default maximum? Boost it higher than the built-in level?
Thanks...
I too have that problem. Anybody have any idea of where or how can you boost your speakerphone audio?
try using this.
Installed the cap on device, what exactly is this as I dont see any new program installed under programs.
That's because it's installed under the Settings tab. It's just a equalizer that can increase certain aspects of the sound

Does this increase the volume using a regular BT headset?
I have the Moto H700 and the volume is low when driving in my truck. I have the volume all the way up on the headset and I sometimes have problems hearing people.
It is fine as long as I'm in a quiet area, but the reason I bought the BT headset is to use it while driving since its safer than holding the phone to my ear.
I've already tried the audiopara.csv file and that increased the speaker but it didn't seem to affect BT.

I too have the same problem w/H700. I have searched high and low and have found there are many with this problem. It seems like it is a WM 6.1 issue.
Is there any possible way to increase the volume to the BT headset? This is a major inconvenience to many and I think it should be addressed by MS. Maybe one of the senior members here have some sort of tweak for this problem.
Thanks.

Increase volume

Shoot me down if this is a silly question, but is there anyway we can increase the voume on this device other than standard volume?
The ring tones are too low and when I attached a bluetooth headset the mp3 playback is far too low to make it a good walkman device. I know about the wired headphone boost, but that is useless with my bluetooth wireless headset.
It's also too low for tomtom use and as external speakers. I think the speaker could handle more output. I dotn mind a little bit of distortion just so i can hear it.
I dunno if thsi can been done in registry or is some hardcoded in firmware
Many thanks
Use HD Tweak to disable the EU 100 db limit and increase the sound level

Thankyou very much!
You can also copy the mp3 file from the device to your computer, and open it in Audacity:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Once it's opened, choose "amplify", from the effects menu, bump it up a few dB, then export it back to MP3 and back into the phone.

Volume in music player

Hi there,
as we all know there are issues with the volume/audio gain on our HD2 with WP7 which can be partly cured with the cab fixes or via registry.
One problem for me is that the music player via headphones is sooo quit that I have to raise the overall volume to >25. Normal notification sounds and stuff are way to loud then even with the above mentioned volume fixes.
Is there any fix to equalize the music sounds and the overall volume? I like to listen to music in the car via the headphone jack connected to my radio but I do not like navigon yelling into my ear much louder than the music ^^.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Neo

[Q] Are there independant Volume tweaks?

Hello,
I did a quick search around, and am curious, are there any volume tweaks for our Focus devices? I tried the diag mode, but nothing comes from that.
To be more specific, I use my Focus by plugging an headphone 3.5mm jack into my car stereo, and it allows me to play music and recieve phone calls easily. It is also semi useful (vs android, IMO, because I had to keep on tapping the display, and no auto reroute) for Bing Maps navigation - all things I used my HTC Aria and Moto Atrix extensively for. It's much better than using a BT headset or speaker, for me
However, the most annoying part is the Music+Videos (Zune) app is significantly louder than the rest of my applications. Even Piano music (Horowitz "Steinway Legends" CD collection) is louder, and that CD set is mastered at a lower volume level than my other music. More annoyingly, phone calls (even at max 10/10 - the incall volume) and Bing Maps are significantly quieter than the Music.
So is there a way to either reduce *just* the volume of the Music+Videos app, or is there a way to boost the other two?
Thank you very much!
