Call VZW from another phone and tell them your phone froze and you did a hard reset and have no service they will help you out. No need to mention anything about 3rd party software as you will have to hear the usual cs bs.
ok will do

Wont work...
Sounds to me like you have a data issue of some kind. The stock SMS app is not very good. I have never heard of this issue though.
Call sprint and tell them that you cannot recieve MMS and they can reset stuff on their side. I have had to do that because I wasn't getting SMS, they put me on hold for a few minutes reset it, then theyll send you a test message that should work.

My friend has/had this same problem. I sent him some pictures once and same thing happened; no one has sent him a MMS since, so I don't know if it's still an issue.
Anyway if I were you I would contact Sprint Customer care.

most likely your account needs to be re-provisioned
Im having the same problem and Sprint seems to know nothing about it. I have spoken to customer service numerous times about this and even brought it in to the store. The only thing they suggest is a factory reset. I have tried that yet as I dont think that will fix the problem.
ya they tell me on the phone "lets do a hard restart, that fixes everything".. but i havnt done it because i dont want to mess up my root and rom, and i dont even know what will happen.
ok so they tried doing the reprovision today (i actually got some one who new what they were talking about) and it didnt work.
the only step left is a hard restart. will this affect fresh 1.1 or root in any way?
I was messing around with a few custom roms last night and found this morning that when i try to make a call it goes straight to a sprint automated phone menu. I used the stock RUU to flash it back to factory settings and still having the same issue. I did the programing for it with sprint the gps and data work and i can get incoming calls. Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Sprint said I needed to call from another phone so they can troubleshoot mine but i dont really have access to another phone right now.

There's really nothing I know to do... make a free skype account. You can call toll-free numbers for free on Skype.
Well took a while but sprint finally figured out my account had a redirect script on it like you get when your bill is past due. they called the billing department and got it removed.
I just got my phone rooted... ran nandroid backup and whatnot and then I tried to make a call on my phone. I get a nice Verizion Wireless lady (recording) telling me that Verizon Wireless could not authenticate my phone and to dial #8899.
This transfered me to a customer service rep (no hold time at all) and I had to explain to her that I didn't do anything to my phone. She "sent updated security" to my phone and now it works.
Did anybody else have this problem? I haven't seen anybody else say anything about this.
I am assuming you had the phone fully activated and working before you rooted it right?

Yep. I've had the phone since launch day. I'm just happy it is working now! I was just surprised to hear the message.
I've had this many times with WM on my TP2 when I installed custom ROMs- it's common... Just tell VZW that you cleared your storage or something and that when you did that, you had to reprogram the phone, and then you got the message. I'm not sure what causes it... Do any of the Devs know if there is a VZW file saved on the phone whenever you activate and program? Maybe the phone randomly checks for this file? I'm not sure how VZW knows... Maybe when you program a phone it checks to see if it has EVER been programmed by VZW - since you installed a ROM that was built from scratch it doesn't have this info preallocated, VZW tells you that they can't authenticate your phone and you have to talk to a rep.
It's their way of trying to find out who jacked with their phones, and if you admit to any foul play, they'll probably void the warranty and maybe even refuse service until you have it brought back into a VZW store for official programming. Not sure though...

Understand your idea, but I didn't install any custom ROM. All I did was root it, installed recovery reflash, did a backup and then I tried to make a call. I was just surprised because I never saw anybody else mention it. Oh well.... My phone still works, so I'm happy!

That is weird... VZW is tricky, who knows what they can actually see has been done to the phone. I mean, if we open up a menu that tells us what ROM were running, I'm sure they can too
It lost the akey is what it sounds like, happens sometimes when a phone is hard reset or wiped, Droid Eris does it all the time but Ur all good calling tech is all it takes.

I've had the same exact problem occur a couple of times in the last 2 weeks. I did a reboot and it seemed to take care of it. at least until it happened again. ill start paying attention to it.

Hopefully it get resolved soon I've rebooted. Doesn't seen to do anything.
I've had this happen as well after my stock Samsung firmware crashed while on a trip and I didn't have access to a pc. I went to AT&T to have their firmware flashed and then it became unable to make or receive calls. It only took a reset to fix the problem. If you've recently flashed the AT&T firmware I'd suggest a reset. Even if you haven't done any flashing I'd suggest a reset.
[SOLVED]: SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > PHONE > FORCE STOP.. I force stopped the phone application and then it worked. Hopes this helps!
Simple...., try calling the number from a friends phone and you'll soon realise that that doesnt work either.
It is a spy programe. Someone wants to bug your calls.
Keep a diary people!!!

i had this issue with GOOGLE PLAY. i did the same method, basically. for whatever reason, i couldn't open it up to install market apps.
I have searched everywhere and tried every connection fix I could think to try but I cannot find the answer. Short of buying a new phone, I am running out of hope.
My international S8 on T-Mobile has up until now given me zero issues. The last month it has been acting up though. It is almost always unwilling to send phone calls and when it works the connection beep takes like 10-15 seconds before it works.. on the other end, people who call me say my phone goes straight to voicemail.
I have manually input connection settings. I full unrooted and clean installed factory firmware and I made sure it was not something as simple as being in 'do not disturb' mode. I am out of ideas and need your help. Thank you in advance anyone who may have some ideas!!!

I had the same issue.
Go to phone dialer and dial *#0011#.
when the screen comes up look to see if it says MIPI_Fail or something to that effect.
If it does then your radio is bad. This is a hardware problem. I had to send mine to the service center and they replaced the MB.
Good Luck
How you guys got in this in first place?

After update to Oreo phone showed no connection. Tried all the usual fixes and still had an X in signal bars.
I figured the dialer still worked the same as my Note 3 so I gave it a shot. It worked and went into service mode. That is where it said MIPI-Fail. Googled it and found out that means the radio is bad. Off to Samsung it went.:good:
