Vibrate on pickup? - Nexus One General

Hey guys, I'm coming from a HTC Diamond so, my question is;
In WM there's a feature which a fair few roms have and I really like. Iit allows you to call someone and then it vibrates once they pick up. This saves having to hold the phone to your head while it's ringing.
Does this feature make an appearance in Android? Or is there a way to add it?
Looking forward to receiving my Nexus One!

I believe there is a feature in the settings for this; however since I have a modded rom, I'm not sure if its native to stock N1s.

Yeah. Its a great feature, but its missing on Nexus.
I had it on my modded MyTouch before.

Hopefully it's on the drawing board for the stock ROM!
Maybe have to find the official Nexus forums and request this feature, because it's needed imo.

Switch to Speake Mode when slide open the keyboard

Dear All,
This is my first post at the forum. All my other questions have been answered via the search function, so I'm very gladfull that all of you know this awsome machine so well.
Actually I do have a rather challenging question you everyone who is reading this forum.
When I'm talking to somebody on the telephone, normally keeping it to my ear. Now I would like to open my agenda en start writing in it to schedule an appointment. I would the system to switch to handsfree mode as soon as I slide open my keyboard? Is there a way to do this?
Did somebody maybe found an upgrade for this?
For instance, I know that when you open the Nokia 9300 while calling it will transfer to the speaker function?
Well, maybe someone can help me solve my little issue.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jort.
Thats a very good question. I had never thought of that, but it would be nice, although not essential as switching to speaker is fairly quick and easy to do. If there was a reg hack or util to do it, it would use it for sure.
I know what you mean, i use it most of the theme this way. i bod a Bluetooth headset for this problem. but if there is a way. It wil make me happy
Have not seen a hack for this - just hold down the call button as you slide the keyboard open - that will do it
thats just like the lg V on verizon
good question !!
if we can find this will be a good hack to add to your device.

[Q] Choosing a ROM

I am completely new to the whole ROM scene, but with the possibility of landscape menus in manila 2.5.1922, I really need to check it out! However, there are so many ROMs out there, and I have no idea which one I should try.
So I guess what I am asking is: What is the most reliable/stable ROM with Manila 2.5.1922/landscape support?
Thanks!
It's bumptastic!
that's a tough question to answer.if there were one rom better than the others we'd all be using that one!
read some of the rom threads...the important stuff is inn the first post usually.
next, learn what the different versions of the different parts mean. is it windows 6.5 or 6.5.3, what manilla build is it and what's the difference... then you will be able to make your own informed decision.
This type of thread is usually locked by a mod, so I'll get in first ;-)
Only you can decide which rom is right for you, really. Best thing is to look at the existing threads for roms, and try one you like the looks of.
Almost all roms here are constantly being improved, so it's very difficult for someone else to recommend a particular rom over another one for you, as within a week one may have added new features over another.
Depends what are you looking for.
Speed?
Stability?
New features?
I personally seek a ROM that is close to original HTC but with improved speed and new features. I don't search for fastest ROM, just a ROM that is little bit optimized with tweaks from this place:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
also I like how start button is moved to the bottom so ROMs with that feature are also welcomed. Threaded mail in messaging is also nice feature. When it comes to looks I like the squarish buttons instead of rounded default ones.
At this moment I found that this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614006
(23518 version) is all that I need at this moment.
Happy hunting
The only thing I'm actually is something that works just like the original ROM, but with landscape support in the menus. Does the miri ROM do that?

SMS Missing Features on Dash 3G

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and new to the Dash3G. I just flashed to 3VOLUTION ROM. I am seeing that a few features are missing in the SMS Section, not just for this ROM, but in the Windows Mobile O/S Overall.
1. SMS Lock Code. It's pretty standard now in most normal phones. I saw it so weird that a Windows Mobile Smartphone did not have it. Is it possible to get one? Either by a Custom ROM or an Application?
2. Smileys. I raelly like to see that instead of : ). Is it possible to get this enabled some how.
Sorry if this has already been answered. I searched and found nothing.
Thanks!
The SMS threaded feature is ghetto and needs an overhaul. I spent the whole day looking for a plug in and software to get a SMS chat style interface. God damn touch screen phones. Most of the software is geared towards them!
Anyone know any SMS Chat that will give notifications?

[Q] SMS App with multi-select and delivery report

Hello,
I really like Android on HD2. Currently i use Subcraft 1.5 and i'm happy with it but there is a major disadvantage for me in Android.
I really need these reports for sms that tell me when a message is really delivered and i need a quick method to select multiple destinations.
Well the standard sms-app has the report-function but no good destination selection.
Handecent on the other hand is nearly perfect but doesn't has the report function.
Does anyone of you knows an app that has both? (Destination selection like handcent and reports like the original)
Handcent does have the delivery report option look under send options you should find it.

Yes you are right. I was sure to have looked at every possible option but somehow i missed it. Really strange.
Sorry for wrong Forum.
I think i should have a closer look in the future. Would have helped in both cases.
Thx anyway.

Is there a fix to have the keypads light on?

Hi everyone!
I use mdj sense clean for the moment, and it´s working quite good. But i miss lights on the keypad. They only working for 10 sec ,then it´s black. I read about keypadledcontrol for windows, but does it work on andriod?
Help please...
/Magnus
They automatically turn off to save power when not being used.. -_-
Wrong section dude, rofl.
Wrong section? I have a hd2 and using android. All i wonder if there is a fix for this?
i just want the keys lighted at the same tima as the screen. Is there any other androidbuild that have this fix?
Pardon my english (i´m trying)
/Magnus
Hi Boba!
I agree with you. The keypad dosen´t drain battery, at least not in winmo right. it´s anoying that they go black after 10 sec, it must be a way to fix this.
Do you know any other andriodbuild cotanins led light for keypad?
/Magnus
We should ask to "ledmeknow" creator, this soft allow too play with thr keypad light for notification, there must certainly be a way to make it lightening with the screen.
This is for me a problem to much forgotten by too much dev's !
i hope devs can make something out of this. i´m a noob but this should be a piece of cake for a dev.
is it just me who thinks this is a lost part of the andriodexperience? of course the keypad should be lighted in android mode. in winmo we have the touch back buttons, but not in android.
/Magnus
I agree, this is an annoying thing. We're blind at night without these leds.
Sent from my HTC HD2 Android
yeah.. agreed.. it does get very annoying, especially during the dark, when ur fumbling about trying to find the keys to power ur HD2. Im sure there is an easy enough fix for it.. cmon... im sure some DEV can do it easily..
awaiting a fix....

Yes wrong section.
This section is for "development" you are not a developer. You are asking a question about android builds and should been posted in the Android Q&A section.
To be fair, a custom app developed for Android that accomodates this need WOULD be "Android Development". That said, whomever made the statement that "this should be easy for a developer" shouldn't jump to such conclusions. Unless you know how to do something, you cannot assume it is an easy thing to do. The XDA development community makes a lot of things look easy, but given the fact that even native Android devices automatically turn off the keypad lights, I am guessing that the functionality is fairly well embedded in the Android code - and finding it (much less changing it) may be a much bigger challenge than we realize.
Still, if there IS such an app - I too would like to get my hands on it.
Any update on this?
