Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and new to the Dash3G. I just flashed to 3VOLUTION ROM. I am seeing that a few features are missing in the SMS Section, not just for this ROM, but in the Windows Mobile O/S Overall.
1. SMS Lock Code. It's pretty standard now in most normal phones. I saw it so weird that a Windows Mobile Smartphone did not have it. Is it possible to get one? Either by a Custom ROM or an Application?
2. Smileys. I raelly like to see that instead of : ). Is it possible to get this enabled some how.
Sorry if this has already been answered. I searched and found nothing.
Thanks!
The SMS threaded feature is ghetto and needs an overhaul. I spent the whole day looking for a plug in and software to get a SMS chat style interface. God damn touch screen phones. Most of the software is geared towards them!
Anyone know any SMS Chat that will give notifications?

My wife just got a new G1 phone and the only feature i truly wish i had was her text messaging system. The way it organizes her txt's makes it much easier to understand.
Any ideas on how i could get something similar to this on my touch?
Try sms-chat, a program found here on xda, as far as i can see it does the same as the G1 sms-messaging system...
Hi all,
one thing I used to love on my Sony Ericsson phones was the EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service), mainly the little animations. For those who don't know EMS lets you include preset animations or sounds in texts by sending them as a code. The receiving phone then reads that code and shows it's version of the same animation/emoticon/sound.
Sadly the Diamond doesn't have this and I miss it a lot as they really brighten up texts. I believe though that the SE Xperia X1 does have EMS support so I was wondering if anyone knows how to get this onto the Diamond?
Many thanks,
Mik
hi mik, used to see you a lot on se-nse when I was a lurker modding my w810 lol
anyway I'm afraid I can't help you, also I think the x1 doesn't have the animations,it is really a htc device with an se badge.
I believe microsoft has to add the function to the messaging app for it to support the animations, but I don't think it'll happen.
Hi roflnova,
I'm still busy on se-nse, actually an Admin on there now
I had read that the X1 had EMS but obviously that info was inaccurate. However, surely this can be added with a software app and doesn't need M$ to implement it. I have found a few old topics referring to certain apps but they're all so old the links are dead or just go to something unrelated.
Anyone know which apps are available these days?

actually no has paid attention to this topic but its very good & urgent
just see this link

I guess it's something that long time WM users have never had so they don't miss it and aren't bothered.
Thanks for that link, I had seen that before but doesn't that just enable the use of an EMS client and still leave us needing that actual client?
So is there no good EMS service for the Diamond?
Hey guys, I'm coming from a HTC Diamond so, my question is;
In WM there's a feature which a fair few roms have and I really like. Iit allows you to call someone and then it vibrates once they pick up. This saves having to hold the phone to your head while it's ringing.
Does this feature make an appearance in Android? Or is there a way to add it?
Looking forward to receiving my Nexus One!

I believe there is a feature in the settings for this; however since I have a modded rom, I'm not sure if its native to stock N1s.
Yeah. Its a great feature, but its missing on Nexus.
I had it on my modded MyTouch before.
Hopefully it's on the drawing board for the stock ROM!
Maybe have to find the official Nexus forums and request this feature, because it's needed imo.
Hello,
I really like Android on HD2. Currently i use Subcraft 1.5 and i'm happy with it but there is a major disadvantage for me in Android.
I really need these reports for sms that tell me when a message is really delivered and i need a quick method to select multiple destinations.
Well the standard sms-app has the report-function but no good destination selection.
Handecent on the other hand is nearly perfect but doesn't has the report function.
Does anyone of you knows an app that has both? (Destination selection like handcent and reports like the original)
Handcent does have the delivery report option look under send options you should find it.
Sent from my HTC HD2 Android
wrong forum
Yes you are right. I was sure to have looked at every possible option but somehow i missed it. Really strange.
Sorry for wrong Forum.
I think i should have a closer look in the future. Would have helped in both cases.
Thx anyway.
Hi noob here, just wondered after reading some reviews on HD mini, what the best thing to do is when I get the phone?
Its just now ive purchased this phone, i have found that the OS windows is slow laggy, could anyone point me in the direction or tell me the best way to mod it out so its performance is the best it can be.....
apologies if i have posted in the wrong section or have asked something that is already ina thread
any info appreciated
hi
best way to mod it : start with cooking your own ROM,search here for os kitchen and learn how it works
good luck
A simple way to boost up the speed is to remove all unnecessary tabs from the homescreen. They may look pretty, but in time, you'll find many of them practically useless.
Windows Mobile itself can handle SMS quite well. I've tried keeping more than 20,000 in my old device (Asus P750), and it barely slow down.
But it's different with the addition of HTC's Sense. HTC Messaging can handle around a few hundred messages with noticeable lag. Give it 1,000 messages, and it struggles. If you don't need to keep messages, delete as often as you can. And try to limit the number of contacts too.
