Arte200 roms - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

Hello all, long time reader first time poster.
I was hoping to find a WM6.5 rom for my Atermis, but every one I've tried fails at 3%. Although have had 1 rom work which was the official 6 rom, upon starting the launch program on the pc had the arte200 picture on the left, and every failed had the p3300, even the uspl program was the same. I did have a 'successful' unlock with the imei change program (can't remember what it's called), but the spl code upon boot was still 3.4.001.
So hoping there is a arte200 6.5 rom that I have missed that someone knows (fingers crossed!)
Many thanks!

USPL!
the reason for it failing on 3% is that your device is not cid unlocked.
download ''uspl cmon''..
i have had same trouble as you, it will and does work, keep trying..
get these files and install them on your phone first, then ''uspl cmon''...
Cert_SPCS
EnableRapi
seemed to work first time for me...

i suggest getting the rom im using, fast and good.. its wm6.1 though..
ive tried plenty of 6.5 roms and i always go back to sheennicks no_nonsense_v6..

Different Problem - Bricked P3300, while upgrading from Chinese to English

Hey all,
I am sorry posting the repeated question again, but this has a bit of a twist, and to this, i searched and didnt find any answer around.
My friends just bought a HTC P3300 from China. It came with a chinese DOPOD rom.
I had the original Shipped htc rom with me there so i upgraded my 1st friends mobile, with the shipped rom successfully, and then upgraded it to wm6 successfully.
now when i flashed my 2nd friend's device with the HTC Shipped rom, the upgrade process went to 3% and then the device just restarted and got stuck on the Initial dopod boot screen.
It is not moving from there.
So i downladed a couple of other roms, including the DOPOD ship rom,. but when i try to upgrade it, it says " ERROR:200, The Upgrade Software is outdated" kinda message!
now can someone please guide me how can i bring alive my friends rom, what is it i should do to successfully install some rom in it in English.
Please help!
thanks a lot!
Hi all,,
Please someone help me out with this problem...
Which rom should i try, or what is the problem with this?
Thanks a lot.
Did you cid unlock the hone either with USPL or IMEIcheck? If so, you should be able to load an OEM rom back on the phone. Try the HTC WWE WM5 rom or the German WM6...I dont see any reason why an unlocked phone wont accept at least one of those.
hi itschase...
No, i dont know if it was cid unlocked or not.
About USPL or IMEICHECK, nothign was done on it.
As i mentioned, one phone got flashed successfully, but the other failed!
I have tried the HTC WWE WM5 shipped rom, if thats what u are hinting to, but not the German WM6.
I have a crazy idea...
My phone is not bricked, but I was able to try running the USPL ROM Update utility on my phone from bootloader. I have zero idea if this would unbrick your phone, but its worth a shot - cant get much worse (or can it?). Download the USPL file, and run just the rom update utility with your phone in bootloader. After it resets your phone, put it back into bootloader and try reinstalling an OEM rom. I am probably wasting your time, but its worth a shot....

Insane Devil:
you need original rom for your device (with correct model id).
this should flash your device.
in the future, install uspl on your device before upgrading rom.
regards,
Factory Roms should be able to help u out in this...?

Good Idea but ... not correct!
Your device might be CID locked and you were able to run USPL from bootloader, because ... you already have had USPL. Am I right?

***HELP*** Stuck while updating then got image corrupt error now stuck on bootloader

In urgent help I was updating my herald to NEW Simply Everything 6.5.1 Build 23420 when the update got stuck on 28% and then got error image corrupt. my herald restarted in bootloader mode and since its been like this my IPL AND SPL ARE 4.17. Please someone help. i will be really thankfull to you guys if you can give me an easy way out. i really dont want to do the goldcard thing again as its really difficult to get other WM phone to write the security thing in the memory card. at the moment any rom well do i just sold my other phone and the same day this happen so i dont have any phone. please help
Have you got a Herald or a T-Mobile Wing? If you have a Wing, just go into bootloader and install the T-Mobile ROM. Seems to me like you didn't HardSPL before you tried to upgrade. If you have a Herald then I am not sure what to tell you to be honest:/

You should be able to flash while being in that mode.
Connect the phone through USB, and try flashing again. Try flashing to a different ROM, if necessary.
Well i have a HTC P4350 so i guess it Herald. well and yes i didnt Hardspl it's my bad was just too happy that i could update to the coustomised roms that u briliant guys are making here, but i have flashed like so many roms wm 6.1 to now adays the latest wm 6.5.1. but this never really happened. yes i am able to start the RUU it checks the device the when i click update it goes to either 2% or 3% and thats it gives me the image corrupt error.

Yea, it means that you're trying to flash a ROM that requires you to be HardSPLed and flashed through SD Card, since the .NBH file is too small to be flashed through PC.
Either HardSPL your phone and follow the instructions for flashing through SD, OR find another ROM that doesn't require you to flash through SD card.
i have tride many roms but they r doing the go to 1 or 2 percent and the device resets. i will be really thankfull if you can tell me which rom to use exactly

Error (262) for diamond2 wm 6.5

Hi,
Help me please just me and that happens to me the mistakes my God.... I had the original ROM version coming with my diamond2, put the upgrading and went well until the moment he arrived at 9% and restart the pda, re-install I think is normal, however the installation continued until k stopped in 18% and after a long time gave a notice of error (262) made the recovery as recommended and continues to give error ....
I do help me please
This just happened to me too
My phone was hardsplĀ“d
It stuck at 18%, but no error message so far. Did you unplug your phone?
Read this:

I'm not sure. Have you flashed other roms before? Perhaps you have a bad download. I know the servers are overloaded from all of us geeks sucking down the WM6.5 rom... perhaps its bad.
What I normally do is put the phone in bootloader mode first by holding VolDown, while resetting the phone. This will give windows time to install the proper drivers and get situated. Once done, try flashing again.
I think 262 is a connection error. Probably driver related since you said you ran your stock rom. But check your cable. Make sure its secure and reliable. Next try another USB slot. If nothing else try a different computer... sometimes PCs just will not cooperate.
Thank you very much fighter, will try that.
I had Official 6.1 Asia WWE installed, HARDSPLed. Tried to upgrade to 6.5 on my computer and my laptop, nothing worked. Both stops at 9%, disconnects, comes back and stucks at 18% again. Had to go back to 6.1, this time it worked to bring phone to life.
My phone was bought in Taiwan.
Guess I am out of luck
I think the best way to upgrade is as follows:
1. Run the RUU_Topaz_S_HTC_WWE_2.16.405.4_Radio_Sign_Topaz_61.44tc.25.32_4.49.25.17_Ship.exe on your PC/laptop to extract and get the RUU-signed.nbh.
2. Copy the RUU-signed.nbh to topaz SD card and rename to topaimg.nbh
3. Upgrade new ROM from SD card.
I had the same 262 error as well, screen went blank for a second at 9% and finally freezez at 18% with the error message. Heres what you need to do:
Update your HardSPL to 1.83
Flash 6.5 again
????
Profit!
Hello,
already did everything you say and nothing. I liked to tell me where I can get the former Rom wm6.1 because meeting.

at least I no longer ask the solution with the ROM 6.5 we only have as I had before ... and wanted my pda to work help me please
Little history for my friends with same problem here:
1. Bought Diamond in Taiwan with Chinese;
2. HARDSPL 1.33;
3. Install Asia WWE 6.1 ROM;
4. Try update Official WWE 6.5 ROM, no luck, remove battery and put back;
5. Reinstall Asia WWE 6.1 ROM, everything back to normal;
6. Update HARDSPL 1.83; Ask brother to donate
7. Install Duttys ROM or Official ROM works too
Hello,
I already installed the previous ROM with the 6.1 and everything was normal.
I tried to install again the OFFICIAL ROM 6.5 and the problem remains back to the error at 9% and 18% for the progress bar giving an error (262).
not understand some things as:
6. Update HARDSPL 1.83; Ask brother to donate
7. Install Duttys ROM or Official ROM works too
is there any solution?
can help me
Sorry:
1. install Hard-SPL 1.83.OliNex (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312)
2. install 6.5 ROM or Cooked Rom.
It resets 9% again in Official ROM, but reconnects and go to 100% (no stop 18% again).
Dutty ROM no stop at 9% or 18%.
problem solved
thanks for the great help amazing

When you run the RUU, the RUU-signed.nbh will be extract temporarily to a folder in driver C:
(For me: C:\Users\Duongla\AppData\Local\Temp\pft51D9.tmp)
Just do a search and you'll find it.
And remember to HSPL to 1.83.
i have the same problem too
hello
i have a diamond 2
ihave olinex 1.83 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312 and i can not install ANY wm6.5 rom!!! on the other hand EVERY 6.1 rom i have trie (5 different greek and english) work perfect?!?!??
any suggestions?
thanks
i had the same issue
i was running 6.1 (stock rom) which was hard spl'd
i had the same error kept going to 262 and haviong to be recovered
so i re hard spl'd with the latest one, and it worked fine after that,

Error 270

I think i have a clou as for the well known error number 270.
I think its either the CID is not in vendor mode ore the rom has not got the right signature.
This is what happend to me and draw your own conclusion from it, but i hope it helps a little to understand and resolve the error ( well resolve it )
I bought an t-mobile compact 3 wich whas send by mail and got bricked on the way here. So .. i searched the net for a rom and found something i liked.
using a sd card i couldnt because it said somthing like image invalid signature.
later i found a factory rom update rom at the UK t-mobile. I extracted that and putt it on a sd card. Using the bootloader manually i run the image and updated perfectly.
So i whas happy i didnt bought a brick and whas workable.
Not happy with the factory rom ( tough it work charmingly and tomtom work even better then other roms) i seeked out something more eye appealing. having a p3600 bought with manila 2d for my hunny, whas nice to see so i seeked one for the artemis.
Tried updating it and got error 270. perhaps not the correct signature ?
Maybe...
So i got back at forum and read on sticky's and found a great utility called USPL .. ( Great thanks to the creator(s)of this app ) Supposedly the app open up the CID to super mode ore open vendor mode, wich then makes it possible to insert any rom with an RUU .
(i asume you'll know it means Rom Update Utility )
The screen on the phone went black and instead of the RUU included i ran the RUU of the Manilla 2d rom and ran past the 3% so that meand it will update the rom. The screen stayed black untill it rebooted and it came alive !! ( sorry for the dramatic effect )
the rom i didnt find to be stable it crashed when i turn up the volume when using tomtom it crashed when the alarm went , and it crashed several more times. ...
More roms to try anyway and got to pdaviet 6.1 wich i didnt like but run smoothly and crashed somewhere during alarms.
So i upgraded to 6.5 .. where i went messing with the uspl app and putted the roms in the same folder including the RUU.
So at 3 precent i got the error 270 , Huh rom has invalid signature ??? neh .. the rom said singed so i downloaded the uspl again and did it my old way run uspl till it opens it RUU cancel that one and run the RUU included with the rom i wandet to upload to the phone.
i now run FlyROM 5.0 Manilla WWE with the extra english keybord rom.
and so far so good, it runs nicely tomtom again i little slower then on the factory WM5 ( both installed on device btw ) Flyrom 5.0 WWE

Cannot flash anything, vendor id error

Hi,
I get attached error when trying to flash any official Rom on my 1.44 Brand new Leo. I would like to have ROM 1.48 and radio 2.06 (official fixed) because some things affect me.
However, I have bought it with a Vodafone NL subscription: I only notice it because during bootup the Vodafone logo appears. Vodafone does not offer a ROM download.
Will a HardSPL help? Is it safe yet? I'd rather take a fex bugs for granted than ruin my brand new mobile phone and void my warranty . Can a HardSPL be flashed back into a normal SPL?
Thank in Advance!
P.S.: The device ROCKS! It's WAY quicker than my Diamond! I had doubts about Sense because I didn't like it on the Diamond but it works mega-well on the Leo!
Sorry, couldn't resist shouting the news
Yes hspl will do what you need, but please have a good read and be sure you understand what you are doing before you dive in.
Yes hspl can be removed, , head to the Rom development section and read a lot.
PS, if you have only had the phone a day or so, you should probably not get into flashing just yet. PLay with it, try different apps until you know what you want, and then reset it, flash it, and set it up how you like.
Thanks samsamual,
I have quite some experience (my old Diamond, my brothers HTC Touch Pro and a few years ago even a Himalaya, my first phone). I just wanted to know it's safe now and it can be restored. After all, it isn't that old a device (4 months now) and I think a way to hardSPL was only recently (I read something about it on a dutch ICT site) about a month ago (cmiiw).
The reason I want to flash right now is because I want to have all the updates before I tweak the phone to my preferences, so I don't have to do it twice (or more times). After all, I am moving from a Diamond to a HD2 to I have a pretty good idea of what I want.
I've succesfully HSPL'ed and flashed
I was a bit freightened: I got an error message the next time. My phone rebooted and my SPL was changed to 1.42. Everything worked fine however, altough I still couldn't flash a rom.
I retried, and this time got a success message. I could flash the rom and radio and am now another happy HD2 owner
So if you get an error: fear not.
Note: the only difference is that the second time I did click "yes" on the "I want to see the hacked message" dialog, but I don't think that should make any difference...
