ATT internet setting for HTC Touch Cruise II - Touch Cruise 2 General

I am an ATT subscriber with six lines. I purchased an unlocked Touch Cruise II as a spare because of it micro SD storage and ability to play MP3 and MP4.
Everything works great. My daughters iPhone got wet so we had to use the HTC spare for her phone until the iPhone got fixed.
We slid her sim card into the HTC and everything work from the start, calls out, call in, WIFI Internet, text messages, etc.. EXCEPT we can not get it to hook into the Internet via the cellular network. I have tried a few things but nothing works because the browser setting for GPRS are blank.
I contacted ATT and was told because they do not sell this phone they cannot help me. I contacted HTC and was told they do not support unlocked phones.
Can anyone give me the step by step settings to get this phone to hook to ATT cellular Internet?
Thanks

Trouble connecting using AT&T sim

When I purchased this I was told that the device would work with a voice and data sim. Just that you wanted to be careful with how much data you might use. I have a AT&T sim with a corporate voice plan and unlimited data for a pda phone. I am not currently in a 3G market, but it is coming online soon, and can't seem to get connected with that sim. I have put in a data only sim from AT&T that we have but it is our emergency backup sim/card for our pos computers in our stores. I don't really want to have to purchase another $60 a month account to have a seperate sim as well as my $40 a month data plan on my pda phone, which I am not willing to give that up either. I would bump up my pda plan to $60 a month with voice if it would work that way but I just don't want to pay a $100 a month to have two seperate devices.
Basically when I am in town I can use the sim out of our back up cellular router but when I go out of town or on vacation I have to leave it behind and would like the option of putting my sim in the Shift and using that as needed.
Any ideas.
One last note. The weather will update with my sim but that is it. No email and no vista connectivity. It does say that it is connected but when I fire up explorer it beeps a bunch of times and then the red X goes infront of the network connection and it fails to load anything.

Can you try to setup a proxy on the WM site?
Maybe that will help you
set up new connection
i had the same problem. htc support solved it. you need to set up a new connection in snapvue. vista only recognizes a MEdia Net connection. go to settings in snapvue, open connections, add new modem connection, select media net with default settings, save
when you open vista the sim will be working for a connection
mine is working fine in winmo and vista with isp.cingular.com not media net, ill be using no proxies over here
Everyone thank you for all your suggestions. I should be able to do it with these ideas. I should have thought of some of these myself. Thanks again
Update: It worked, thanks a lot. I have not had to do this since I bought my imate K-Jam at over two years ago. Thanks again one more time!!!!

Go-phone prepaid on Cingular 8125

I have a G3 Cingular 8125 w/ TNT 19213 Professional rom and I was wondering if I could buy a prepay go-phone(like from best buy), take its sim card and put into the 8125, and be able to properly make calls etc.
Input is appreciated!

Hi megas3300,
if your phone is SIM-unlock you should be able to make calls.
I brought a german QTEK 9100 into the US and just plugged a prepaid t-mobile card in it and I can initiate calls, receive calls and send and receive SMS. I have not tried if it also works for GPRS connections, so here I can 't tell you, but just for simple phone operations it should work (if phone is not SIM-Locked)..

I know it works in reverse, as my mother used to use her plan sim card in a phone from the go-phone package...and I don't see why it wouldn't work considering that. There isn't anything special about the phone, it's all in the sim card.
Thats what I did Went to wallmart bought a $19.99 Go Phone worked fine but ATT to much money for data. Now using T-Mobile month to month Unlimited data $19.99 had to buy voice service 300 min for $29.99 works great for me
Current Primary Device:
Cingular/AT&T 8125

Can't connect to Internet using Mobile's connection, help please!

Greetings,
I'm desperate as I am writing this.
I have blackstone, that I just purchased 2 months ago.
Everything went well with it, I had no issues at all. Suddendly it just stopped connecting to the Internet using the mobile connection.
I can receive/send calls and SMS without problems, I can connect using WiFi or Bluetooth (sharing my Computer's connection) but it doesn't connect using EvDO (unfortunatelly, the country where I live and the Service Provider, has a different band for 3G so I can't use since the beginning).
I have not modified anything in my phone (haven't installed any applications recently). I called my Service Provider, they checked that my account settings were correct and that my data plan was active. Also, I put my SIM card in my wife's phone (a Blackberry Bold) and it connected and browsed the Internet flawlessly.
So, any help please? I don't know what else to do, I have even done a hard reset, by just formatting the phone to its initial configuration state and started from the beginning, but no results!
did you change your sim
did u get this phone on contract.i got a x7510 it was only launched on contract by o2 network.i used an o2 pay and go sim but it wouldnt connect even though the pda was launched by them then they told me there setting are different to contract .so they gave me a different setting similar to another model then it worked.
I acquired this phone in Amazon. I purchased it unlocked.
I live in Uruguay, and I have had my connection working normally as for 2 months now. It suddendly stopped working without any advice.
My service provider (Movistar) has told me my account is fine. But I don't think it can happen that the phone has got broken and now I can make calls, send SMS but not connect to Internet. It doesn't make any sense to just break the connectivity.
IMHO you can do two things. Usually a user 'thinks' that nothing was changed on his PDA or computer however something was indeed changed. You can change this by backing up all your data and doing a factory reset to yr pda.
If this doesnot help then ... I suggest you change provider because this is the second case that has happened; i.e. they did a change internally but never said they did ;-)

Have you tried another Sim in your phone? Since you say your Sim is working in your wifes phone. Narrows it down to network or handset then.

Weird Problem with 3G and H connection on UK O2

Hi,
I have been in touch with HTC and O2 about this. HTC are prepared to take the phone in for service but wonder if anyone here can suggest anything.
My SIM-Free from new HD2 will not connect to the 3G or H network. It works fine on G but the data download is very slow (as you'd expect). It worked fine on 3G or H up until a few weeks ago, not sure when it stopped exactly as only notice the slowness if I'm trying to send a large email attach such as a pic.
I have flashed with the latest stock ROM on UK HTCs website and the problem remains.
O2 have confirmed there are no blocks or other issues with my account and have sent me a replacement SIM but the problem remains.
If I take the O2 SIM and place it into my old Kaiser it connects immediately with a nice H up at the top and a visit to speedtest confirms the fast connection.
If I take a colleagues Orange SIM and place it in my HD2 after the usual SIM card swap wizard does it stuff the HD2 will once again happily connect to 3G/H.
I wondered if somehow my HD2 had had it's IMEI blocked for 3G (or something) at O2 but the helpful tech insists this is not the case.
I am at a loss to explain this as anything other than a phone fault and I suppose I will have to send back to HTC but didn't want to be without it for the 7 working days it will take.
Weird eh!?

[Q] ATT not working in Illinois but works in Indiana... WTF??

Hello all! I have a bit of a quandary. I have a JasJar (htc uni) and it was purchased used from Ebay. I have a current ATT account and working SIM. When I purchased the uni I was under the impression that it would work on the ATT Network... and i was correct.. sort of. when i recieved the UNI I imediately charged the phone and inserted my sim card for ATT and fired it up..... NaaaDaaa.
phone fired up, everything worked except the ability to make or recieve calls or messages. basicly the phone runs just doesnt work with the ATT network... "Well Crap, at least i have a really cool way of surfing the internet at home or whatever WiFi spot i find." skip ahead a few months and i find myself living in northern indiana. a friend of mine sees the UNI and asks about it. I tell her that its an unlocked phone and it was meant to work on the ATT network but it should work on t-mobile as well but that the phone doesnt work properly. she asks if she can put her t-mobile card in it anyway, grudgingly i oblige her and laughingly tell her that it probably wont work and if it does that i would be really P!$$ed..... what happens? of course it worked for her sim card! WTF!? so i put my ATT SIM in it... yuppers worked first off like a charm. What is the difference between central illinois and northern indiana?? why wont my phone work in illinois? I bought the UNI wanting to use it as a phone not a paperweight. AANNYY help on this or advice or just more questions to clarify my problem, please post.
