On the WM Team Blog they address the reaction to the nearly worthless battery icon replacing the clock. Good news is that ROMs using AKU2.2 and later will allow you to add the clock back in, bad news is that the current JasJar ROM (1.30.76) doesn't seem to have the 2.2 release of AKU.
Can people with other carrier's ROMs check to see if the registry edit they provide works with your ROM?
The egistry edit is to add a DWORD titled ShowTitleBarClock with the value of 1 in the HKEYLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell location.
Didn't work for me
Doesn't work in the latest dopod rom 1.30.111 either...
The message on the MS site is from yesterday, and the guy is speaking of a "further release", i think AKU 2.2 don't exist yet
btw: isn't working on my wizard too
AKU 2.2.1 exists...
this is the nessesery file, you need to replace the existing one with this one (windows directory)
and add
[HKEYLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=dword:1
this is only for AKU 2.0!
!!!Attention: Make a backup and read through this tropic!!!
Problems with Universal roms!!!!
Perhaps related to the certification. Plz someone with removed certification try this... and post the results.
RE
The shell32.exe file in my QTEK 9000 is located in ROM something which you cannot copy out.
Does a soft reset reverts back to original battery icon if I'll to replace with the attached shell32.exe file?
After the battery icon is replaced by the clock icon, can I add a date to it also using any known method to put a date on top of the clock?
I believe a hard reset will definitely reverts back to the original battery icon, right?
Thanks
only a hard reset reverts back to the original.
add a date: I think so... not tested, but it should work.
I have a special rom where it is possible to overwrite system files, but It could be difficult to replase shell32.exe on a normal rom and I cant make a cab, because I dont know how to sign that.
plz someone with the knowledge about that make a cab.
don't bother, because even if you replace the shell32.dll, it wont restart, displaying the keyboard and getting stuck there.
You will have to hard reset and restore from a backup to get back your device.
A word of warning - back up before trying this. It hosed my universal. It would not even finish booting, and I had to hard reset.
Surur
Ok, I realy sorry.
It works for me...
Himalaya (rom based on 2.00a)
On my ROM (Qtek latest) in \Shell\Taskbar there's a regkey LimitedClock set to 1. If I set that to 0, the clock will at least display everywhere except Today, both in landscape and portrait modes. With it set to 0 as per standard, the clock only shows up while in apps *and* landscape, apps/portrait it doesn't. As long as the Today screen time&date plugin is switched on, this means you've always got the clock. BTW, needs a softreset to activate, Taskbar settings apparently are only read on first startup.

I'm sure you realise this is a universal forum? You should edit your post to remove your file before somebody else zaps it's unit.
I dont think so, because the os is the same.
My rom is not realy Himalaya, it is a ported wizard os and only the drivers of Himalaya.
So the file should work on all WM5 devices, perhaps the problem is related to the removed certification on Him 2.0 rom's.
(This file is from an Atom rom not Himalaya)
But you are right, I edited the post.
Disablesecurity.cab, replace shell32.exe with new, softreset
Hangs at boot with the soft keyboard superimposed over the boot screen. Hard reset to fix.
Basically, avoid this for a while.
......or use Wisbar Advance 2 and you have your clock back on the Today screen....
Cheers

I can confirm this - same result on the latest O2 AKU2 Rom.

Same on the Dutch SPV M3000 AKU2 ROM. Phone doesn't reboot.. ..had to hard reset...

You can access that feature simply by going to the date/time settings and enabling "Display the clock on the title bar in all programs" on the |More| tab.
O2 xda Atom have AKU2.2.1 and it really works no more battery icon.

Hello,
It is my first post on this forum.
Yesterday, I unlocked my frensh SPVM3000 (Wizard) and tried to replace my "shell32.exe" by the "shell32.exe" downloadable on this post.
It was a BAD idea! My SPV starting crashed because it was for Universal smartphone. I used the button sequence to re-install the original software.
Have you an address where I can download the "shell32.exe" of the Wizard AKU 2.2 software?
Thanks for your help.

The guys at :
http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=59&func=view&id=19287&catid=45
have this file:
http://buzzdev.net/components/com_simpleboard/uploaded/files/Prophet_ext_rom_unlock.rar
- unpack
- copy it over to your device
- run it
This will make your ExtendedROM writable, NOT visible.
Use TotalCommander CE to display content of your ExtendedROM for now (by entering "\Extended_Rom")
Sometimes, files in ExtendedROM are marked as READONLY and you have to clear that bit.
Does anybody has a good description of each file present in the Extended_Rom and if we can delete it or not?????
After readin that whole thread it seems some say it works some say it does not.
Can anyone confirm it works with the latest Submitter Cingular Rom? I do not want to have to reinstall everything again
I just got things perfect from the last Hard Reset I did.
I tried it on my 2.08 Qtek rom. Does not work (YET as Buzz is still trying!)
This was merely a test version btw.
I flashed my Qtek s200 with the lastest dopod rom (from the ftp page) then did a soft reset just before customisation begins (preventing the extrom files from loading - I don't use MMS or smartdialing).
Copy buzznet's prophet extrom exe onto your device and run it (You should get a little popup saying "success"). I can't view the extrom files and the memory settings are still the same but my system runs a lot faster and I've gone from having to do a soft reset almost twice a day to once every 5 or 6 days!! (I run a large program thats eats up RAM).
It seems so much more stable, reponsive and quicker
Hope this helps......

This is why this stuff gets dangerous. The s200 is not the same as the Wizard from what I understand. Folks read things like this in what is a Wizard specific forum and think it's really working. On the buzzdev forums they seem to say it works on Prophet based devices and not on wizards.
That is why I asked here on a wizard specific forum about anyone having success.
From Bootloader / ROM structure perpective the Prophet and Wizard are said to be similar.
Buzz has developed his tool without any of these devices so hes still in a test phase.
Worked For me
with the last RRU Qtek IPL 2.15 Radio 2.30
Thanks

Cool ! Thank you very much, Xplode.
So, how did you managed to do it without a working BA ?
Also, 2 questions:
1) I though WM6.1 was not officially released yet, is this a alpha, beta, RC or the final version ?
2) Would be nice to see what improvements could we expect from WM6.
Cheers,
JP
Great !!! Waiting for your ROM long time man. Thanks
i got new screen from ebay but it stopped working properly i am disassemble my BA again to see what happened ... (i have no luck with it)
well there was only one official WM6.1 rom by Vodafone for Kaiser this is a port from it
Improvements over WM6 are posted all over the board, don't be lazy do a search
How about WIFI and .NET CF?

Xplode,
Yes i have seen other WM6.1 threads in the forum (in fact there is a lot of them, specially from pdaviet), but you don't mention for instance if you are using "wifi driver v2" or not, nor if any other speed or stability improvements will this ROM bring versus your WM6 ROM, i meant.
Also any know issues from BA's WM6 solved, etc.
Just a thought.
JP
AAAA, can´t wait longer !!!
i have checked 3 times a day for an update ! (the last 2 weeks !)
(have donate already......)
We must wait... I have PDAviet 6.1 rom but i think that Explode's rom will be better. Respect man you have made grate work!
a couple of minutes to go... must... wait... a little... longer...
thanks for keeping it "clean", which bolsters my hope that it doesn't have the zoomsms application
it's very considerate of you to include the steps on how to upgrade, and to give a description of the ROM.
congratulations on your work, xplode, and good luck on your screen.
Good work explode
thanx a lot man ur the best . I will try it soon ...Im sure it will be great
thnx 1 milliard times
i'm install now
Thanks alot for this great rom!
I found the same wifi-issues like in pdaviet-roms 191999. Wifi isn't really happy to connect to wpa-protected networks. As workaround you can turn on wifi, configure your network settings, turn wifi off without connection. Than turn on wifi several times and wait. On my BA ist will connect after 2x turn on/off most of the time...
Will test other nice features of wm6.1 now...
Hi Xplode! Thanks again for your great releases.
Does this Rom includes Wifi v2? if not, have You tested if it works in this rom?
Thanks for your great rom
Thank you very much.
The rom has the default .NET CF 2.0 SP2, It has not WIFI Driver 2 (i am not sure why you calling it that). Wifi behaves the same way as in my and helmi wm6 roms.
Waiting for a long time till today!
Thanks in advance!
But cannt download...
Nice ROM!
One of the MOST anticipated release...
Thank you so much for the effort Xplode...
Most excellent work!

WM 6.1 ... Mmmmm ... yummy.
Hello,
I flashed back to Windows Mobile 2003 SE after having windows mobile 6 installed.
The only problem is the camera does not work, There is no camera option in the menu, and when I press the camera button nothing happens.
The OS I flashed with is WM2003SE 2.06.00WWE XDA2 from the buzzdev website.
Any help?
Thanks.
sounds like you dident put in a new extended rom where the cam software autoinstall from
I searched on the forums for extended rom and found this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=221732
So I put contents in my STORAGE, as per instructions, and now I am flashing, is this the correct way?
One Question, is there any newer WM2003 SE ROM avaliable for himalaya than WM2003SE 2.06.00WWE?
Edit : Nothing happened I still do not have camera, and I also notice My XDA II splashscreen is not showing up, instead it is a blank screen, probably some firmwares I flashed with earlier messed everything up on my himalaya.
Edit 2 : I manually looked through the extended rom contents and found the camera and installed it and a few other programs, but I get error "the program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile software" nonetheless it works
extended rom is a nbf file like a real rom it include a list of cab files and a text file which list the cabs
after a hardreset it auto install all the cabs
you dont need to flash a nbf file (it's don the same way as a normal rom buzzdev prob got some)
about 2003SE then it's a bit of a bastard rom
it was never released (as far as i know) as WWE (world wide english)
but only as chineese and was manualy translated to english by fans (heard that there are still chineese bits around in the rom which display as garbage chars)
about a later 2003SE then there was another chineese rom 2.11 or something like that
but it was pretty unstable so never translated to english
personaly i were to drop wm6 wm6.1 or wm5 and go back i would go to wm2003 not se
version 1.77 as it's more stable so unless one need the rotate without a softreset (which is pretty much the only thing i recall SE offering )
About the EXTrom, i was never able to get it to install after Hard Reset, I have to manually install the cabs myself, ussually I remember my pocket PC would say "Please wait until your device is configuired" , then it would install a few things. But since I have began flashing with all sorts of firmwares I cant get the extrom contents to auto-install after hard reset, so i have to manually install them myself. And you are right, I am seeing weird garbage characters already after instaling the MMS programs from the extended rom contents.
But I do remember the first time i went to WM 2003 SE, which was a few years ago, I got the ROM from the offical o2 xda website, and it was perfect. But thats not longer available.
As for WM2003SE, I always thought it was an upgrade to 2003, I thought that SE (Second Edition) should be more stable.
I might just flash to WM2003, not second edition, do you know where I could find the ROM + Extended Rom contents for it ?
yeah it's 2th eddition
but wm is not more stable then the drivers and 3th party stuff
the rom have in them
also heard about a wwe 2003SE but never confirmed that it was around
maybe if you google deep and long enough you can find it
about official 2003 roms for himalaya then first place i would look would be
the ftp of this site they may still be there
2th would be around at buzzdev
3th would be on the sites or ftp's of o2 / tmobile/ imate and the likes
4th would be googling around
Ah the problem is the XDA Developers ftp site is not working. I looked over at buzzdev and they have no WM2003 Roms for the Himalaya, only WM2003 SE
Ok from XDA Developers ftp I find the following :
1.60.36 T-Mobile_NL_Shipped
Himalaya_T-Mobile_NL_1.72.903_eDsuBsofT
Himalaya_T-Mobile_NL_1.72.90_Shipped
Himalaya_T-Mobile_NL_1.75.903_eDsuBsofT
Qtekk_1.75_Converted
I believe they are all WM2003 (not se)
Which one to use?
Hi everybody.!
Im newie in xda technologies, and I have an S200 Qtek.
Im try to upgrade to WM6 and, if it possible, install TouchFlo.
Thanks in advance
Do you mean the "Cube" or finger scrolling?
Finger Scrolling is in almost every new ROM that's out, the Cube is only in "TE" (Touch Edition) ROMs. Have a look around the Prophet Mobile 6 Forum for ROMs.
and please read the guides on ROM flashing before doing anything...
MMMMM the cube, or finger scrolling, is not the same..?
I find this video in youtube...

I have the some phone.
Well... I reed tonight, becarefoul everythig and then may be try it...
Thank you very much for the fast answer
Regards.
The finger scrolling is like the iPhone, the Cube is the frontend including the Quick Dial application.

4...g4 and g3 are diffrent versions of prophets do to the chip intalled inside... (in boot screen 0001 »g4 001»g3)
5...extract FTouchflocubeESv2.cab to mem card
6...install FTouchflocubeESv2.cab

If it ends in a "1" it's a G4...
If IPL/SPL are something like 2.10.0001, then the device is G4, if it's 2.10, the device is a G3.
