Go to the Sense settings tab. Click "Menu", and choose "All Settings". Click "Today". Go to the "Items" tab. Scroll the list down till you can see the checkbox labelled "HTC Sense". Uncheck it. Click OK (in the top right corner of the screen). Click OK on the warning message box.
nice one, now if I could just remember the reg edit for comm manager on rhs of today..... ! (hint hint)

I use above newly update htc wm6.5 get a problem.
i could not set it to classic Today screen when ever i click start > setting will go to HTC setting not the WM setting side.
I try to install quick menu to get it back FAILED! nv show the TODAY setting too.
I had no problem with the classic today set-up after my upgrade (make sure in your item "HTC Sense" is not ticked though) but I found another problem that I can't locate a owner information folder in the "Settings" so I can input my name. Any idea?
Go to Today, and in Items, select only Personal Info - unticking Windows Default or Sense 2.1. Get out of Today, and then enter your Personal Info. Once done, go back into Today, Items, and untick Personal Info, and select Sense 2.1 or Windows Default.

Hope HTC can solve this bug..
I'm loving my HD2, and I'm very happy with the HTC Sense UI, but there's a couple of things that are really bugging me.
One of them is just stupid.
I'm a developer myself, but a Windows dev, not really mobile, and there's NO WAY ON THIS EARTH that I would EVER make a menu that only had 1 option in it.
With that in mind, why on earth do I have to go to Settings, Menu, and then All Settings, to get the settings menu???
Okay, I understand it going to the settings tab, but why there's a menu titled 'Menu' that only has the 1 option of 'All Settings' in it I'll never know. It would make much more sense to just have 'All Settings' instead of 'Menu'.
Can anyone in-the-know give some pointers on how this might be changed? A CAB file would obviously be preferable , but I'm happy to look into this a bit myself.
I know there's some über geniuses on these forums (suck suck). Can any of you help out?
yeah it's not very ergonomically sound
The 'original' settings shortcut is hidden, you can show it by modifying:
HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\HideSettings
Change it from 1 to 0, soft reset, then delete the settings shortcut in windows\Start Menu\Programs
edit: more info here (and it seems you can't delete the 'new' settings link)

Cheers mate. Bit annoying that we have to hack a step back to get some basic functionality, but better that than nothing.
Thanks
It is indeed a bit strange...
We can say that it is a kind of "protection"... To avoide people playing with your mobile to be directly in the settings ...
That is the only reason I see so far (maybe not a good one)
Well, what settings do you need that are in the original WM settings screen and not in HTC's 'More -> Settings'?
But yeah, the 'More' menu with only one item is pretty ridiculous indeed.
I have a question how to make guick link on main screen to settings (WM settings not manila settings)?
In BSB tweaks, there's the option to have Windows Settings as on/off. I have mine on, which gives me two "gear" icons - one is Settings, the other is Manilla Settings. The Settings icon takes me straight to the All Settings you mention.
Any good for you?
I have tried to uninstall both the diamond beer app and the autumn dynasty game from my TP2 but there was no uninstall program. I have deleted all the files i could find but they are still listed when I go to all programs and then click a tab to add one.
Is there a way to completely remove something you install on your device?
Go to "Settings" tab
Tap "All Settings"
Tap "System"
Tap "Remove Programs"
Select accordingly and tap "Remove"
new to Windows Mobile, eh? Better read the wiki!
Yuppers, I am new to it!
Thanks for the info - I hadn't even noticed that. I'll check out the wiki too.
Hello.
I need your help:
I downloaded one program where you move your finger to the left (or right) on home screen, 12 (or 16) squares pop up (where, I think, you have 3 different wallpapers, and 3 themes,...) and after setting one theme (I think the 3rd or 4th square on the top), I LOST MY HOMESCREEN and I can't find it
What do I do???
remove the programe u installed..an reset leo
I don't know where it installed
go to settings> application> remove programs then select the name of what you want to uninstall and click "remove"
soft reset when that's done
That's the problem...I don't have "settings" anymore...everything is gone It looks like the whole "sense" is gone and all its goodies...
what happens if you press the "start" hard key? does that bring anything up? If it does you can get to the settings from there
I'm looking at the thread i posted earlier and it seems I'm stuck on the 3rd screen, because I also have only "phone" and "contacts" on my two soft touch keys...I can't go back to my main screen and even when I uninstalled that program (which I only presume was the right one), it's still the same...
so it looks like you *may* have disabled sense? Easily re-enabled as long as we can find a way to get you to your settings... Have you tried the start hard key at all? Otherwise, then I'd suggest hard-reset as the easiest option unless someone else can come up with any other suggestions
Yes, my hard key works, but the whole "settings" are missing, when I click "settings" it comes up the same as it did before, when I clicked "tools"... I managed to find "remove programes", but even after deleting everything that might have affected my home screen, it still doesn't work...
hmmm then I don't know I'm afraid, you might want to wait for someone else to suggest something else or just go for a hard reset
Thanks anyway, I hope I won't have to hard reset...
"to get back to TF3D, you can MaxTTM and do a TRefresh or the usual manual way of activating your Today items" <---- how do I do that?
You should be able to cable to phone to your PC, then uninstall the problem app using activesync/WMDC. Not sure if you've already tried this?
forgive me if im not entirely getting what ure problem exactly is. take it sense is gone and you can't get at settings because the settings link in start menu only links to the sense page. if you install bsb tweaks found here on xda there is an option to show original settings in start menu. do this and soft reset if the program prompts. now you should have manilla settings and settings in your start menu. go to settings then today settings. then on the items tab check that sense and only sense is ticked. click ok and fingers crossed it should be back.
WORKING!!! Thanks to all of you!!

If you use BsB Tweaks and enable the option "Windows Settings - Show normal settings in start menu" then the settings icon in the start menu goes back to being the classic settings icon (takes you to "all settings").
Instal BSB Tweaks which has a toggle to turn on the 'real' windows settings in start menu.
I know there's another solution to do this, but i don't know where the folder is located to link it on start menu.
I won't install anything additionally for windows settings
Its not a folder to link, it's a control panel item, and therefore isn't easy to link to like programs are.
DO a google on 'links to control panel items windows mobile'
Are you actually saying that you want the settings icon in the start menu to take you to the same thing you get when you click "all settings" on the settings tab?
If so, a 30 second search of this forum turned up this post...

If that's not what you want then can you please explain better?
