I have a htc hd2 pda device. I have opened personel folders under inbox in my mail box. I made rules for the personel folders. But there is no alert in my personel folders when I’ve got mail. The alert occurs only for my inbox. What can I do to solve this problem?

I'm syncing to an Exchange-server, and have organized it using rules to move certain e-mails to certain sub-folders of the inbox. However, I'm not getting any messages or alerts that new mail have arrived in these sub-directories of the inbox, which makes automatic syncronizing with the Exchange-server rather useless.
I just want the Wizard (in my case: Qtek 9100 NOR) to show all new e-mail on the ToDay-screen and alert me. I think this is typical "Outlook-behaviour" which won't allert me about new mail in subfolders too (but that I can live with).
Anybody know how to solve this? Maybe it's a registry-setting?
I had the same question. Yes, it's typical behavior. I solved it another way. I use so called search folders in the Outlook 2003 instead of moving to real subfolders. All messages arrive in Inbox folders both in the Outlook 2003 and in PDA, so e-mail notification works for each message.
I use search-folders too in Outlook 2003. But they are not available on the Wizard which makes the use of rules and subfolders much easier to use.
Hi all,
I've just started using Exchange with my 8125. I have rules on the server that automatically move incoming mail to specific folders. This is great on the desktop because there is an "unread" mail folder that displays all of the unread mail.
The issue on the phone is that when a new mail arrives through exchange, it is moved automatically to the folder without any alerts. I actually have to dig down into the folder to realize that there's a new unread email.
- Is there anything equivelent to an "unread" folder on the WM5?
- Are there any 3rd party programs that will alert of new email and/or display the new emails?
- Are there betters ways/methods for accessing email?
Thank you in advance for your assitance!
Cheers!

Hello there Lu.
I too am learning Exchange. As someone who does not have an Exchange account at work (we use Groupwise) I signed up for a personal Exchange account. So between that and my pobox.com account I think I am spending a little over $100.00/yr on email. Plus data fees, etc. WOW!!
But on to your questions.........
The best that I have been able to find is that one can only get alerts on the Today screen when a message hits the "Inbox". So if you want to see if any of your other folders have gotten messages you'll have to navigate to them.
As for a universal "Unread" folder I know of no way to do that either. Hopefully someone here will correct me but I don't think so.

David
I have about 20 sub folders off my main inbox for exchange server 2003. Only the items in my main inbox are counted as items unread on my device. If i have say 4 emails in another folder, it does not show that they are unread unless i click the inbox and switch to that folder. I want to know if i have unread messages in all my folders just from looking at the today screen. Is there a fix for this? Also push mail only seems to work for my main inbox too, not for the subfolders, i have to manually syncronize to get the rest of the messages to download. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Similar problem
I'm not even able to get the email from the other folders on my cell phone. Only email from my inbox comes in - are there any settings I can change for this?
yea. with the mail inbox open go to manage folders, then you can tell it which folders to sync
Is that not because of how outlook works?
I think it's always been like that: It just tells you how many mails you have in your inbox, subfolders are not included...
I sync several folders in outlook, with ‘rules’ for filing set server side. If a new message arrives in one of these folders, I receive no notification, and the email does not get noticed without manually checking folders for email.
Does anyone know if there is key that can be modified to notify me of these emails?
This has been a problem with every rom I’ve tried so far, any help would be appreciated.
Hello,
I made relationship with my Exchange 2007 Server. My inbox contains few subfolders. I set it in WMDC to sync. When I'm in old message viewer I can change folders and see all messages. But at Email tab at HTC Sense I see only main folder (inbox). Is it possible to set it, that will show emails from inbox and other subfolders?
Regards

I don't believe there's a way to do this. I have the same issue myself, but it doesn't bother me so much. I just click on "Inbox" and then use the dropdown to select whatever folder I'm after.
A bit of a pain, but not too annoying.
Thanks for an answer
I'm fogetting to look into messaging. Just tab
Ok, maybe someone will find fix to that, beacuse it shouldn't be a problem to stream all messages into one virtual container.
Thanks for an answer.
