sounds playing too fast

I'm having a problem with my Elf where shortly after each time I perform a soft reset, the sound will speed up. So ringtones, notification sounds, and music all are played a little faster and hence have a higher than normal pitch. Eventually it may return back to normal, but I haven't noticed a pattern as to what causes it to revert.
I recently flashed a new ROM, but the same phenomenon is occurring. Any thoughts? Anyone else having the same problem?

Me too. When I turn on BT sound of ringtone will play too fast.
when I soft reset it back to normal.

after using my ELFin for a few hours the sounds, music, ringtones and video start playing faster (pitched up). I did everything I could, reflash it, rom change, windows change, and nothing works. It is solved everytime I reset or if I plug and unplug the headphones.
Any suggestion or FIX?

Anybody uses
-Vito Audio voice recorder?
-Inesoft Phone book?
-SRS wow HD?
-Sprite Backup?

hey there, m facin quite an odd problem........weneva i insert a sim other thn d 1 i use regularly, d sound of my elfin changes....meanin wen i play a song, it does nt play normally it used to, it plays at a double speed......dunno y???!!!

My first thought was what the hell have your written.... It makes little sense due to the text speak....

Hmm...i don't have any of the above programs on mine, but we both have the same problem...could be something else.
Also, I noticed that when the device speeds up, it also drains the battery faster. As in a HELL OF A LOT faster...

No, I didn't. It was a separate thread that had then been merged by the mods.
(Sorry to be a troll - But can someone delete this and my previous one as I do not have this issue.)
Just a thought though, have any off you overclocked your devices?

yes i have installed Shubaroo Group SMS bt i have uninstalled it... but to my surprise i m having the mp3 speed problem after installing Shubaroo Group SMS.. can any1 help...

no, no overclocking done... there are days wherein i just want to smash my Touch against the wall...
...but then again, I wouldn't do that =)

Try to soft reset your device. Hopefully it should start paying sounds properly. You can also try using another player (nitrogen) for playing songs.
Hopefully one of the solutions should work. (Soft reset worked for me once)

alright so i've got quite a list of problems...
first my weather wont always update and i don't know what to do to get it to work its a hit or miss situation... i have an unlimited data plan and i run on AT&T HSDPA i even tried on a wifi connection but it doesnt always work any suggestions???
next the youtube program doesnt stream videos when i select one to play but its streams when i go to the youtube website from a web browser
next all my keyboards from WM 6.0 are gone there is only this whack little qwerty key board who's buttons are impossible to press without the stylus
and finally what media formats are compatible with this phone cuz a lot of my songs and videos dont play =(

problem - hd2 htc player won't play video now

Hello to all you wonderful people again.
I used to be able to watch any videos that I had recorded using the htc album player but today I was showing my HD2 off to a friend and couldn't get them to play, black screen with a continuous buzzing sound only. the time bar was moving normaly tho?
Then I tried to use You tube and that came up with an error so I browsed xda-dev and found it to dl. This version is not as slick or laid out as well but it works! But htc album still won't play videos? It seems that neither will win media player, it does exactly the same as the album player but only on videos I've recorded using the phone, all copied videos/films in wmv format play fine?
I was trying to think what I'd dl recently but truth is.... masses....but it was fairly recently that I dl tmcp coreplayer (free version) from this HD2 forum, could that effect the other players?
Any help much appreciated and Thanks in advance.
I'm using std www 1.66 rom and std 2gb micro sd on an unlocked virgin phone/simm.

I feel your pain.......... Ive had this twice now, once after I installed (then uninstalled) core player.
The other time totaly at random, also the music player and ringtone wouldnt work.
Had to hard reset, couldnt find any info on similar problems. There must be something that causes it but I've no idea what that is.........

Please Help

I find it unusual on these knowledgeable forums, that noone from the dev's has any idea what is causing this or what I can do to rectify it without having to do a full reset??

Ive suffered from this again recently and can still find no reasonable explanation for it.
The fact that we're both on t mobile uk suggests they've ballsed something up!
Are you still using their ROM Tim?
I had to hard reset again... getting used to it now.... its become part of my daily routine

guys I phoned t-mobile and they said that they would send me a new one since I just got the phone, but I am not actually sure if it is worth the hassle, anyways probably it is a software problem rather than hardware, is anyone using other ROM version to the t-mobile one? i.e. the prementioned above.?

Yeah thats the same ROM im using. As far as i know the "ROM update" for tmobile on the htc site is the same as the one thats already on the phone.

Did you guys install a youtube client? iirc this was the reason why video playback failed.

Id wondered about that actually but dismissed it because they've both been running fine together for weeks, it just seems to stop working so randomly.
im using the google youtube app v 2.4.4.
Could it be that it disagrees with something t mobile have done to the phone and thats why it comes without one?

I am having the same problem , it looks like it is the YouTube app, when I removed the YouTube app I could play the videos again through the standard media HTC HD2 media player (Albums and Pictures & Videos apps).
Does anyone know how to get hold of a working YouTube app?
I can just about get it to run in sky wire (great app by the way, credit to these guys).

I've had mine for about a week, and it did not come with the YouTube app, unless it hidden and I have to find it, also I did not get any of the games i.e. guitar hero, etc... again im not sure if was suppose to unlock these, I did not see any information on this in the box.
Feel a bit ripped off, but this is nothing new in the UK.

Well Ive been using the one I previously mentioned alongside windows media player for a few weeks now with no problems. Ill post the cab in case you want to try it. Its the google app v2.4.4

replaced htc hd2
t-mobile uk replaced my phone and I am about to find out if it was actually the utube app that created the problem, the thing is that, the playback problem occured many days after I had installed the utube app on my previous htc hd2. Anyways, it could be just that. My htc hd2 had no preloaded utube app and just one game... probably the rest are hidden ...
P.S. I noticed that the camera on my old htc hd2 was a little bit crooked, i.e. the square was not parallel with the battery cover, probably a minor thing since the camera was fully functional but still once you notice it, you can't forget it...

I can no longer view videos i recorded using the camera and i cannot watch the Transformers movies. I by mistake installed the old version of youtube which i then replace with the original. Someone please help otherwise i would have to reset the phone to factory.

I'm afraid there is not much you can do appart from backing up everything and then resetting... But I am not an expert, maybe you need an expert's opinion on that one...

hey whats up everyone i recently had the same issue im running a different rom on my phone not the stock one i too had the same problem where none of my videos would play not transformers not any of the ones i recorded with the cam nothing i would just get a a buzzing static noise.. well after playing with my phone a bit and reinstalling different programs i came to find out it has something to with POCKET MECHANIC... i think its when i run the registry cleaner.. i havent tried to install any other reg cleaners. but after having not installed POCKET MECHANIC my phone has been working fine now...

[Q] Music player tab bug in Artemis ROM

Hi guys,
Been using the stock ROM for a while now as I could not find a stable cook release, just decided to do a little more experimenting and am unfortunatly finding the same thing. After trying out a few of the ROM's the most stable all rounder and constantly up-to-date ROM seems to be that from Sternas.
However the music player in this ROM is completely unusable for me, it crashes within seconds of playing the music and will not successfully update the sence music player library. I have tried several music players and I still prefer the sense default due to its tight integration and compatability with CHT and such.
I have tried the cab floating about on the forum that updates the library as soon as the phone is switched on and I have also tried enabling SD card caching in Artemis Center.
I have also done my very best to search to see if there is an answer to this problem, and whilst I can find people with the same problem I cannot find a solution. I have also tried posting in the topic thread but its moving at a crazy pace, and questions get buried far too quickly to be answered. So hopefully I can find an answer here.

it seems that the latest build of AudioManager is extremely buggy. I have tried 3 different roms and none of the standard registry edits fix the issue

Is it possible to manually revert back to an older version, or is there a version of Artemis you would suggest that doesnt have this issue? (or any other )

This thread has been closed and re-opened and I just wanted to make the intentions of the thread clear.
I am trying to find a ROM to use and am interested int he Artemis ROM, however after testing it I found this bug in the music player, I then asked to see if there was a solution to this bug in the ROM thread (the 'correct' place to ask)

But as you can see the question got buried so quickly that no-one was able to help out. In a situation like this where is is close to impossible for me to ask the communtiy for help due to the pace of the topic I felt there was no other option but to create a new topic with my question.
I have been over all of this with the mod and he can see the problem and has subsequently allowed for this topic to be opened again.
So, hopefully somone can help

I am not sure I understand you objection, you link to previous versions of your ROM in you ROM thread and the portion you quoted is simply me asking if there is a previous release of your ROM that does not have the issue with the music player.

Hello mega maniac What version or artemis is it that you have used? and what language version. What is your radio? and hspl or sspl? I have been using artemis roms since version 9 and have never encountered any problems with the music player. Im currently on artemis v22b and my music library loads instantly and the player never crashes( i use it every day at work). Maybe a simple task 29, then upgrade artemis rom will sort this problem for you.

Hi,
I felt fairly dejected after trying to solve this problem and getting absolutely no-where, as such I ended up using the Energy ROM series which have their own bugs it seems, just not ones that stop me using the phone as much as this music player bug. I'm re-flashing today and have tried the Artemis ROM again but the same bug is there, if I play the music it will freeze after a few seconds without fail. I'm now trying out Dutty's ROM but for your information and hopefully to help out others here is the information you asked for
I am using the very latest version of Artemis V.23.0
Radio: I tried several radios with the Artemis ROM, all of which presented the same problem I also tried it with the recommended 2.07.51.22_2 . The Radio I am now using is 2.11.50.26
HSPL - SPL 1.42.HSPL (doesnt mean much to me, but thats what shows when i turn on with vol down) for the record this is the only thing that I havn't gone out of my way to update to the recommended HSPL in the Artemis thread. I'm not sure if the HSPL version is capable of creating a bug in the music tab but it seems to be the only thing that I am doing differently.
p.s. I really am not sure what a task29 is
edit: just finished installing Dutty's HG v4.4 and it has the same problem, although I never had this problem with the Energy ROM series i'm clearly missing something.

They were more ones that related to personal usage. After installing the new HTC messaging client the messages somtimes would not show up, also the lockscreen would send you to the wrong messaging client. I would also have to reset the phone because of complete lockups more often than normal.
Been the best ROM I have tried so far however, so I'm not knocking it
edit: just read up on tsk29, think I may give it a shot now.

I've never come across any bugs with the EnergyROM series, of course sometimes NRG does a dodgy upload but it's usually down within a couple of hours to rectify and re upload. Not that I've ever downloaded a duff one.
I'm a big fan of the EnergyROM, I'll bang on to anyone about it!

I think as soon as the new HTC messaging client is used by default in the Energy ROM's I'll probably be switching back. I message ALOT and the default client in the Energy series just doesnt work as smoothly as the new HTC one.

Just task 29'd and re-installed dutty's ROM, same problem. may have to go back to stock and then upgrade my HSLP, pain in the boom boom.

Same thing here, music stops after a few seconds and music player in landscape will give me a 'no music found' error.
I can see my music in the all songs tab, but in the albums tab I see none.
I tried 3 different ROMs Artemis, energy and for now Cleanex, all with the same error.
I tried formatting the SD-card (16GB) and sync all my songs with WMP, this did the trick for about 5 minutes
Really frustrating because music player is the app I use the most.

his newest ROMs are using the newest sense (2016) which seems to be causing freezeups. Lots of complaining going on in his thread.
Seems the newest audio manager is causing the music player problems so nrgz already reverted back to a previous one.
Now if we could just get sense to play nice....

Even if the multitouch bug is present, with configuration 2, it's still playable

I too had the return to home screen problem until I brought the game directly from the Gameloft website, they will send a download link via text and when you install it will place 80Mb of data on your SD Card. This version works perfect on desire.
If you have install any other versions of the game you must delete all of the data from you sd card before downloading to new version, as they mush have also updated this to work on Desire.
And it the best game so far.

I am simply running MoDaCo 3.1 (2.1 Android), no overclock config I saw you were french and I wrote a french news recently about it, check this

Yes, this bug is boring, but I am using in options the configuration 2, there you can make appear the pad where I want.
Just watch this < VIDEO > and try to understand the bug. Then you simply need to avoid it.
So, when I am running, I make the pad appear down left of the screen, and I move the view using the up right of the screen.
When I am shooting, I make the pad appear up left...
In fact, I try to avoid to create parallel lignes to the edge of the screen, and the bug doesn't appear...

They've withdrawn it for Desires due to the multitouch bug.

This has been working for a while.. didn't even know it was broken. I've had it for a few months.

i've tried the demo of the game on my desire i downloaded the milestone version and that seemed to work

Wow, this game looks awesome!!
It's a pity they withdrew it for our Desires though...

I have played it, GREAT game. Still amazes me it is possible on such a small device

Now they added a sort of detection because I tried downloading the Dorid X version of Modern Combat and open the URL with opera and I received the error that the game is not available on Desire.Same with N.O.V.A

ive been playing sandstorm for a few weeks with no probs on the desire .... apart from our crap touch panel lol
