hi,
ive just tried to send a jpg to my thinkpad and it wont work why?!?! its paired i can see the thinkpad in nexus i can choose it to send but the nothing happends it just says:
Failure reason: connection failure
You need to tell your ThinkPad to wait for a BT transfer. That's how Winodws manages that.

USB to PC was not available in the earlier ROMs. You need to upgrade. By the way what functionality are you missing because of the absence of this icon?

Please see if the usb connection is enabled in your active sync. Please uninstall AS and download and install the latest version of AS (AS 4.5). Also try to connect on another PC. The USB to PC icon you have mentioned has only one option in it to enable / disable enhanced features. Mine is in the disabled mode yet everything works fine. So the problem appears to be elsewhere. Also change the cable and see. In my friend's PC the device would not connect through the frount mounted USB ports of the PC but worked perfectly with one of the rear ports. Keep experimenting you will surely succeed.

Make sure you are using an original cable, not a replacement as some cables do not work as they do not have all the pins wired.
If the computer is recognising it as an "unknown device", that may be more of a problem. I agree that you should download the most recent version of AS(4.5) and let us know how you get on.

hi,
im not able to send files from and to my n1 from win 7 64 laptop...
the devices are paired but not connected, anytime i try to send something i can see on the scre of the laptop the transmission starting (the blue bar comes) but after a second it stopps and says connection error
Try Bluetooth File Transfer. Free app, you can find it on the market.
Dear all
I have issues with my bluetooth connection
everytime I tried to connect MS2 with my laptop, it's always failed.
In this case both the laptop and MS 2 detects the bluetooth connection (I even paired them). but there is no connection (i.e I can't receive image transferred to laptop from MS2 and vise versa)
In my laptop's bluetooth device, I can find my MS2 buth with yellow mark on it. When I tried to troubleshoot this problem with win7 troubleshooter, no succes. It's said that "bluetooth peripheral device doesn't have a driver - not fixed"
Have you ever met this experience?
please guys help me, it's like pain in the ass if my MS2 cannot connect to my laptops via bluetooth..
btw I use sony vaio with win 7 64 bit
MS 2 rooted with stock ROM
Best Regards
I have the same issue with HP Probook 4320s and Windows 7 64 bit, looks like a win issue... I have no problem with my other laptop running windows vista business

thanks for sharing
yeah..maybe win issue.
I've searched the bluetooth peripheral device from both manufacturer and windows site, but nothing came up with a success.
In the bluetooth device control of my PC I clicked "send files to my phone"
I choose the .apk files and hit "send" but it failed after several second.
the message was "The request could not be honored", it seems that the phone reject the request.
But then I try to send .rar and it works. So from now on if I had to transfering files via bluetooth to my MS2, I zip it first
I'm wondering if there is an option for MS2 to "receive all incoming beam"?
give it a try guys
I have tried it on my macbook, it also can't work...
Seems motorola didn't put any effort on bluetooth file transfering...
Use some e third party apps to solve it...
Sent from my MotoA953 using XDA Premium App
Only allow you to send files to discoverable/visible paired devices after a reboot?
If you aren't sure, try this...
1) Pair your acer with another computer, laptop, phone, anything capable of receiving a file.
2) Send a file to that computer using BT. You should notice that the computer shows up in the BT list even if it's not discoverable/visible. You don't actually have to send the file to verify this. Just try and see if it shows up in the BT list.
3) Reboot your acer.
4) Try #2 again. You will probably find that your paired device doesn't show up in the send-to list unless you make it discoverable.

The acer only has 1 BT profile and that's for a2dp. Even if stuff shows up, you shouldn't be able to receive a sent file on a PC (on the Acer it should say failed), unless you're running a newer version of the OS. That's probably why the send to list is reset - no profile set.

Then acer messed that up. The sending and receiving works fine, it just won't list invisible paired devices after a reset.

The manual says they may be including more profiles with an update. That's no consolation though, and according to the manual, many things are set to be updated "soon" so we'll see.
I found a workaround for this.
Install Bluetooth File Tranfer from the market. It adds another "send to" option which always shows paired devices even if they aren't currently discoverable.
1 profile!!!!! That sucks I guess this why. Couldn't connect my phone for internet thru bluetooth and adhoc doesn't work. : (
Basically i can send files from my comp to my S8 no problem using bluetooth but if i want to send a file from my S8 to my comp it won't send? Any ideas? They are both paired but when i try sending it just says "file not sent" . This was actually a problem on my previous phone too but i just never attempted to address/figure it out!
Anyone know what the issue is?
Anyone?
Never mind..... Just figured it out! Sorted
What did it end up being, I am having the same issue right now.

Problems sharing/sending photos via Bluetooth - Galaxy S8
I am using a Medialink BCM20702A0 Bluetooth device to try to send photos from
my Galaxy S8 pix gallery to a Windows 7 computer. I installed this device on a new
Dell Optiplex W7 computer and it was working just fine for 4-5 months. Now all of a
sudden, when I try to share a photo via Bluetooth I get only a "File not sent" message.
Have tried restarts, reinstall of the BCM20702A0 device, pairing, repairing-- revised
drivers-- everything I could think of. It finally worked and sent one or two photos for a day or so and then fails again with the "File not sent". I transferred the BCM20702A0 to another Windows 7 computer and was successful in sending a few pictures, and then it failed again.
I have been able to send (Bluetooth) one .jpg from the computer to my S8 phone, but
the S8 will not Bluetooth my photos over to the computer. Any ideas on what could be wrong would be most appreciated!
