Basically i can send files from my comp to my S8 no problem using bluetooth but if i want to send a file from my S8 to my comp it won't send? Any ideas? They are both paired but when i try sending it just says "file not sent" . This was actually a problem on my previous phone too but i just never attempted to address/figure it out!
Anyone know what the issue is?
Anyone?
Never mind..... Just figured it out! Sorted
What did it end up being, I am having the same issue right now.

Problems sharing/sending photos via Bluetooth - Galaxy S8
I am using a Medialink BCM20702A0 Bluetooth device to try to send photos from
my Galaxy S8 pix gallery to a Windows 7 computer. I installed this device on a new
Dell Optiplex W7 computer and it was working just fine for 4-5 months. Now all of a
sudden, when I try to share a photo via Bluetooth I get only a "File not sent" message.
Have tried restarts, reinstall of the BCM20702A0 device, pairing, repairing-- revised
drivers-- everything I could think of. It finally worked and sent one or two photos for a day or so and then fails again with the "File not sent". I transferred the BCM20702A0 to another Windows 7 computer and was successful in sending a few pictures, and then it failed again.
I have been able to send (Bluetooth) one .jpg from the computer to my S8 phone, but
the S8 will not Bluetooth my photos over to the computer. Any ideas on what could be wrong would be most appreciated!

I have an Acer TM4052 running XP with SP2 I cannot get my XDA to send a file over bluetooth to the laptop. I've paired the devices and everything else I can think of with my limited knowledge. Sending a file from my laptop to my XDA works fine but when using the 2i to send a file it can't locate my laptop, both devices are on discoverable and all that other basic stuff
PLEASE HELP!!
Cheers
I've not had any difficulty sending files...except are you using Beam File or Send via Bluetooth?
I noticed that the Beam function no longer seems to check BT devices as the stack has a separate option in the context menu of a file now.
Cheers

I am using the option to send files using bluetooth...this is really irking me! I can send files from the laptop just fine but from my xda to the laptop is no go
Discovered something else last night, I was able to send a file from my wifes I-mate just fine (i think she's using the widcomm stack) I've even downloaded the broadcomm cab file BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900 and still no friggin luck......
o.k, didn't wanna resort to this but I AM NOW WILLING TO PAY SOMEONE A MODEST FEE TO HELP ME SORT THIS OUT!!!!
Have you check the bluetooth software's option in your laptop whether you have activated the file transfer and file pim transfer automatically ??? I recently encountered the same problem with you and stupid me that the solution to this problem is just one click at the option button. Hicks ...
the problem is not with the laptop, because i am able to send files via bluetooth to the laptop using my wifes I-Mate (XDA II) but whenever i try using my XDA IIi i get a message saying it was unsuccessful
hey, i recently got my touch, since then i've tried recieving images from my friends via bluetooth. they send, and my phone said its recieved them, however they are nowhere to be found =/
i then wanted to see if it was just me being an idiot, so i plugged my touch into the computer, send myself an image a certain name, which i then searched on my computer. if the file was on the touch my phone would have found it?
any idea what my phones doing with the files and how to sort it?
thanks.
Hi everyone,
I searched the forum and didn't find any posts about problems with PC --> Epic bluetooth transfers, so I'm starting a new thread.
For the life of me, I can't send a file from my computer to my Epic. The devices can find each other and pair, but my phone always says "Paired but not connected" and my computer says "Connected". I saw somewhere that it may only say connected during an actual transfer... but when I right click a file and go through the Send To Bluetooth Device process, it can't connect. Windows gives me an error every time saying that it timed out because the device didn't respond. I'm staring at my phone the entire time and it doesn't even receive the request. I've tried going into bluetooth settings and tapping the computer, but that doesn't connect it. I've unpaired, repaired, rebooted, etc.
I connected my bluetooth headphones just to make sure the bluetooth is working properly... and I'm sitting here listening to music wirelessly as I type this. So the bluetooth DOES work.
Here's some other info in case it's relevant. PC is running Windows XP Pro. USB bluetooth dongle. The Epic is running Epic Experience ROM 1.2.05.
Ideas, anyone? This is driving me insane because it should be so simple... but it's not!
Now that all the USB connections seem to be fixed, has anyone done a bluetooth connection to their computer? I don't want to carry the proprietary 30-pin cable everywhere so I was hoping I could do a bluetooth connection to my work computer and get files that way. When I pair up the equipment the items linked are for steaming audio. There are two items in my device manager listed as "bluetooth peripheral device" which is missing the driver. Not sure what the right driver would be and if I did get it would it allow native file transferring over bluetooth.
For reference, I'm running Win7 64bit

I tried that already. It kinda worked. If I place files in a bluetooth sync folder on my computer, then it shows on a list on the tablet. When I select it to download the file it says it is doing so and even acts as if it completed correctly but then I get a 0kb file instead.
I was hoping for a more elegant and working solution like being able to right click on a file and select send to Tab via bluetooth or make it so that it treats the storage the same as being hooked up through USB.
help with bluetooth
This is my first attempt/first post, so be gentle...
I'm running windows 7 64-bit & have a GT 10.1 as well, & I've gotten files to transfer both ways... I found that it didn't work at first because the drivers weren't fully installed on windows--if your case is like mine, you may just need to reboot windows to let the drivers finish installing. After that, I was able to right click & "send to Bluetooth device" like you're trying to do... However, in order to receive files, you have to alert windows that youre about to do just that... there is a pretty good tutorial on transferring files through Bluetooth on 7tutorials.com (I'd post the link, but I'm not allowed).
I found the tutorial and I think It must be an issue with the bluetooth hardware in my laptop. I have the basic bluetooth transceiver from dell. I tried reinstalling the driver but the options for send and receive files is missing.
I've been trying to transfer files between my nexus 10 and my galaxy nexus, but with no luck. This is what did:
(1) turn on bluetooth on both devices, and pair
(2) go to ES file browser, long press the (plan text) file to bring up menu, then select share -> bluetooth --> ok
(3) Got a message on the notification bar saying that the bluetooth was not successful.
I am able to use my bluetooth keyboard with both devices so at least that part works. I searched this forum but I was not able find any posting on this topic; any advice on how to do bluetooth file transfer is most appreciative.

I think its a hit or miss with Bluetooth transfer. First I had the same issue as you, but when I tried later it worked without problem. I know the Bluetooth on the nexus isn't 100%, so might he a problem on that end (haven't tested the n10 Bluetooth extensively).

Thanks. Could you describe exactly what you did to successfully perform a bluetooth file transfer?
(also, an off-topic question: How is CM10.1 working out for your gnex?)
Depends on what u are trying to transfer, tried transferring an apk from my laptop to my N10 but I couldn't, transferring an apk from n10 to s2 worked tho
