this is the first time I try to update a custom ROM but it seems to be stuck.
The situation:
I looked around and found Shifu's ROM which I wanted to use on my phone.
I flashed my SPL to 1.11Mobiz by following the tutorial here and that worked.
I connected my device again and synced it with ActiveSync and started the ROMUpdateUtility, followed the steps on screen and everything appeared to start up.
My device shows a red/green/blue screen with ONBL 1.11.0000 and SPL 1.11Mobiz and on my PC I get the progressbar. I tried it twice now, but for a 30 minutes progress just gets stuck at 0%.
Any advice?

you can do a hard reset and then try again, I also happened to me

Did you try to flash original rom, just to test if everything is working OK?

I updated my rom, but now the phone only gets to the splash screen.
I have attempted to but the phone in the bootloader mode and then reflash with a different rom but the flash only gets to 1% before it fails with a currupt rom message.
is my phone bricked?
I dont beleive so.. if it's bricked, I dont beleive it does ANYTHING... like.. as in .. even GET to splash screens.
do the Hard SPL again.
Do you mean the hard reset I have tried this lots of times
and also the reset bring the spl screen up ie the triple coloured screen
but no joy..

He means run hardspl.
It's available in the Trinity WM6 forum - check the LVSW thread stickied to the top and look for hardspl.
Download that - flash your device with hardspl - then flash the rom you have been trying to flash.
While trying to upgrade my ROM from WM5 to WM6.1, I seem to have bricked my SMT5600. I was trying to use the mtty tool, but USB option wouldn't come up. So I then tried to reboot and now it gets stuck while booting on the splash screen. That is with the Audiovox splash screen in the background with the following displayed over it:

Go through the whole process again following the instructions very carefully step by step. I did the same thing and have recovered my Imate SP3. The lock-up happens if you get one of the steps wrong. It's been a few weeks so I cannot remember which one exactly.
I flashed my Polaris sometime ago to cooked rom, of course using HARD SPL. It has been working fine until I flashed it again to BEPE and again to something else. It started going into bootloader (tri-color) each time I restart. I flashed it with HARD SPL V2 and it starts again and each time my NAV. Hangs and I restart it goes back to bootloader (tri-color).
Right now I’ve tried everything and it wont get out of BOOTLOADER (TRI-COLOR).
HELP! HELP!! HELP!!!!

Bootloader mentions normal info as when u want to flash: Thus TRI-COLOR MODE. I REMOVED THE BATTERY THE WHOLE DAY. i CAME HOME NOW AND IT WORKS AGAIN, then I turned it off and it went back to TRICOLOR MODE:

SERIAL (and if I insert usb then it turns to USB)
did u try upgrading an official ROM (it worked for me ...)
I had the same problem, nice colors but not so useful.
Try to reflash by using the microsd card metod, that helped me.

I had installed HSPL tried to install HSPL2-Run and the installation stopped in the middle and left me a message: HSPL IS DUNE since got deleted the HSPL went back to the SPL 142 and when I try to install again HSPL from different kind of shows me a screen three colors is followed by a white screen Rewrite him LOADING device we get stuck and when I take out the battery Machshr Neidlk acts which re-update but not a rum or HSPL.
Does anyone have a solution? I want to upgrade ROM, but I am afraid to do so without HSPL

Try HSPL 1.
Once the update has completed you'll get a message on the phones screen
'We Hacked It'
You'll then get a message on the computer asking if you can see 'we hacked it on your phone' - click yes and then wait til the phone boots into Bootloader.
It should now say HSPL
I Think you may have unplugged your phone during the We Hacked it screen - this is too early - i've done the same myself and wondered why it didnt work.
But just another note -- Never Install a cooked ROM without HSPL!!!
I tried but the black screen installation which ran from 1 to 100 does not cost at all but we get stuck on the white screen of the device we get stuck LOADING

Big problem.
1. CID Unlock - has worked
2. Flashed new ROM - has worked
After 100% the RUU says, Congrats... But too late i saw it was an ELFI ROM with 74MB but my Touch is an ELF 64/128.
But it booted! Once...
After the device has rebooted i made the screen settings and after windows has configured the device rebooted again.
After reboot the device doesnt come back.
I got the boot logo and then the screen will be black.
Hardreset doesnt work.
After FORMAT FAT & FORMAT IS COMPLETED the screen is always black.
Holding CAM Button and Softreset brings the Colored-Display.

A new CID unlock doesnt work because there is no active sync connection.
Flashing any other ROM works but it seems to have no effect.
RUU can connect but dont shows any installed image version.
If i click update the progressbar in the HTC display appears and goes to 100%.
After finished the update the device reboots and the screen is black.
Did i have erased my htc? Is there any solution for this problem?

But the link is invalid. (yes ive seen the space at the . exe)
Does anyone have this file so i can try this step.

try upgrading the IPL/SPL to some 2.2X version. and next time post in an appropriate thread related to unbricking, u dont have to start a new thread.
