Hi
Does anybody know, if it is possible to "move" the scroll bar from the right side to the left side of the screen (for left handed use)
Br Dyg
Good point actually.......I am only aware of communication manager that can have the switches change to left hand side. You have to install "advanced configuration manager" program for that purpose.
As far as I know the scrollbars are part of the OS and can't be moved around. Just like the scrollbars on your Windows PC

Help!
The icons on the far right hand side of my task bar are missing, I now can't see the volume controls and I can only see a tiny part of the phone reception icon, how can I restore it to normal??!!
A soft rest doesn't work, nor does booting into ssafe mode courtesy of SPB pocket plus.
Hi,
It's a well know issue on win2005. If you don't show the date on the top bar, icones shift to the right and aren't well displayed. Just use this registry tweak below and choose showing time in place of blank string and the problem is solved...
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry
Change the date in the Titlebar
?HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell "TBOpt"=hex:\
13,00,00,00
Change 3 as follows: 0:blank 1:time only 2:date only 3:date & time
Can someone figure out how to stop date line from being bold.
Combine this with follwoing to get a date that fits:
That did it

Hey guys,
New to the forum but I've had a search for an answer (not that much of a newbie ) so I thought I'd ask straight out!
I have the Orange version of the Hermes, and noticed that the built in Today menu Orange provides works very nicely with the Scroller (left hand side) to allow you to choose items on the menu.
My problem is that I'm using phoneAlarm and cLauncher. Neither of these react to the scroller. Anyone know of a way to convert the scroller movements into simple up and down commands, as the D-Pad/hard buttons at the bottom allow you to highlight and select items in pA&cL?
If this makes no sense I'll reword it
Thanks in Advance!
[EDIT]
Just for searching purpose, Scroll Wheel might be a better term. There's also Jog Wheel which isn't the same, but similar!
The Scroller behaves just as if you where pressing the Dpad up or down. It does not provide lateral movement (like the SonyEricsson PXXX sieries).
Thus with PhoneAlarm and cLauncher you can just scroll to it (depending on the skin, you should be able to tell when you are on the desired today row or plugin) and then must use the DPad to navigate left or right through the different icons.

I thought that was the case, but when I use phoneAlarm and the D-Pad, I get yellow squares highlighting the buttons, but if I use the Scroller it doesn't do anything. This leads me to believe it's not totally the same
I've downloaded and installed the HTC Home v2.0 and the X-out plugins (and the customizer) and I really like them. I can't seem to get the battery strength icon to show in the upper right hand corner on the Start bar, though. It just shows at the bottom, where I have to scroll down to see it... I've tried playing with the DWORD ShowTitleBarBattery with value 1 in the registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell -- but that just puts is on a separate line at the bottom, not in the upper left corner... Sprint and HTC support have been no help at all, of course... It seems that Sprint only ever shows it at the bottom, and HTC won't support their skins or hacked apps on another platform, but every picture of the Touch home page that I have seen shows a battery indicator in the upper right hand part of the screen.
Ideas? Thanks!
if it helps...
I use a small (70k) program called Magic button. It makes the X close programs, gives you a Windows XP type taskbar, and has the option of adding a battery bar, that runs left to right on the very top of the screen.
From here: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6800-xv6800/91022-battery-icon-top.html
Clock
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 (enable)
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0 (disable)
Battery
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\
"TBOpt"=dword:1 (enable top battery meter) You may have to add TBOpt dword if it doesn't exist.
"TBOpt"=dword:0 (disable top battery meter)

Doesn't seem like you can have both. I'm new to this stuff, and I was able to do it with CERegEditor. Good luck
You're correct...you can either have the clock on the Today screens and the rest of the screens, or have the battery on the Today screen and the clock on the rest.
Hmm, I can't get it to work - keeps defaulting back to the clock, which I don't need, since I have HTC Home.
Got it!
Perfect! Thanks!!
Ariel Battery will replace the start icon with battery icon

Trying to set up as much of my main menus to be as finger friendly as possible but find the much used (instead of Alt + Tab) Quick Menu icon (in the top right hand corner) small and difficult to operate - the drop menu itself is fine.
Does anyone know of a tweak or app to size it up a little. Annoyingly probably the most laggy drop menu as well - but that is a different storey.
Thanks in advance.
Yep, I'd be interested in that too.
Moreover since I use my leather protection case.
That's no problem:
Go to the QuickMenu settings -> second tab -> there is something called "...spacing..." or "...item distance..." (I have Russian version, other name ) -> increase the value to "10"!
You can also replace the original menu, so you don't have to hit the Window icon in the top left corner, can also be found in the settings.
Cheers!

It's called "Menu item edge", and for me the best value is 8.
Good: it seems there is a solution - but unable to find the Quick Menu settings.....Have been looking through the normal menus but are they perphaps in the registry (apologies for the ignorance but new to WinMo).
you can find the settings in the QuickMenu itself xD
I'd really like to see two things from QuickMenu for finger friendliness:
1. option for scrolling instead of cascading menus (with a decent implementation of scrolling of course)
1a option to have menus cover the width of the screen
2. option to have the "Running Tasks" submenu come up when the upper right corner of the taskbar is tapped (decent task manager functionality is already built in)
2a option to specify what task manager utility is launched from the "Running Tasks" submenu
One of my favorite plug-ins is windows live. It's the only reason why I still use the default today screen over all the others. My only complaint is that it's too hard to cycle through the plug-in (hotmail, messenger, live, sync) just with your fingers (without using the d-pad or stylus). I know there are other apps that have similar features, but I like this particular plug-in and don't really want to use a different one.
Is it possible to change the field size to increase the area of the little green left-right arrows? I just want to be able to tap the left side of plugin to shift left, the right to shift right, and the center to open the current pane, similar to g-alarms layout. I have a feeling that it's not so easy to do, but I'm hoping that it's just a field that you can edit with resource hacker etc.
