can figure out how to get my speeds above 663? i got this giant processor and cannt use near close to all of it??? thanks
Did u try SetCPU for it?
It is AUTOMATIC. Just because you're not seeing the 998mhz, doesn't mean it's not getting there when under adequate load.
It is kinda same like on newer cpus for pc. maybe it says 2.66 Ghz but it is not clocked like that whole time. just "under pressure"
Actually, I recall someone else posting about this a few days ago, and another XDA'er pointed out that the app was measuring one way, and the true speed was actually 1.5 times that measurement. 663*1.5=994.5mhz. Again, you're fine.

SetCpu supposedly works for the nexus but I'm not a fan of that app, I talked to the overclock widget app and he said he's working on support for the nexus

I can only get 243mhz stable. At 260mhz, it works for a while, but then the screen starts getting a little ... squiglly is the best way to put it I guess. At 273mhz, the screen is unusable.
Definitely will not try higher, but I've seen people on here with 299mhz!!
284mhz with my last wing, I haven't tested this one. With my ROM, I don't really need the extra clocks to run smoothly.
I use batterystatus and set the omap to 247 and then let cpuscaler do the rest when it is sitting idle or whatnot. Seems to work for me!
I am running 299mhz perfectly stable on ttrans open touch 3.0 biggy with battary status. If I use scaler for some reason its not stable so I dont use it.
Although batterystatus claims that I'm running at 299mhz, omapclock says it's 276mhz. Both will cause it to freeze if I go any higher. I just kept increasing it until it froze, reset, and went with the last working setting. Just from reading here, there doesn't seem to be much consistency. Some wings freeze, while some work perfectly. I guess it depends on the mood of the assembler that day. But I have a problem with underclocking to save power. The screen makes this God-awful hissing whenever the speed drops below 188mhz.

The biggest thing with the inconsistency is the processors and roms, no processors are exactly the same, some heat up faster etc. and also the rom has a play in the speed factor with how fast it can go, if its processing too much at that speed it will heat up faster.

lol. It's ok, I change it every so often but usually only when I see a new vgcats that catches my eye.
Im working perfectly stable on 312MHz.
Sometimes it's a bit wierd but then CPUscaler helps me out
wich ROM i am using is listed below.

I was just now messing with my phone and said well lets see if i can run 312 so i did. It worked pretty well until i opened up solitaire, and then the screen looked like it was vibrating lol... so i changed it back real quick, that and the temp went up to 99 degrees F. I was like WOAH!!!
Mine is at 247 w/ CPUscaler enabled. 260 and it gets jittery. Anything past that and it turns white and locks up.
5ghz
my wings antenna broke and i cant connect to any networks anymore but i have a touch pro 2 anyways so im going to see just how high i can overclock it before it dies!!! mwa hah hah
Has anyone tried this MOD yet? The OP said it works on the Incredible. To me, it does not seem much different than what SetCPU does.

I see talk on that page of possible clash between setCPU and that mod. I'm partial to being able to see whats going on. Not turning on some mod and figuring "hey its prob working good"

I have tried it and yes its like set CPU but less of a hassle to me because it is already preset, and it comes with some other goodies too
My main issue is it conflicts with kings kernels so I removed it

Everyone,
I thought at first the Samsung Tab would need lots of work. But having the Droid I and HTC Incredible, I'm thinking... wait... you can change any Android device to be awesome. First, I found out you can root the Samsung Tab. Cool. Then there is a video on youtube to download SPAREPARTS. What it does it makes all the APPS strech out perfectly. Guess what? All the APPS work 100% and none look odd. So then I install AnyCPU. My Samsung Tab oddly charges from my M11Xr2 (11inch) Alienware laptop. Second, I ran the process to 100mhz when the screen is off. The power last FOREVER. When it's on, it run at 800mhz on conservative mode. I'm not even half way down on battery and it's been almost 4 hours. Finally, I installed LauncherPro and bye bye Verizon /samsung interface. Check out the screenshots. It looks freaking awesome. It looks like my HTC incredible and it's fast with the battery lasting forever. There are 5 pics. The laptop is my Alienware M11xR2 (11inch) so you can see how big and nice it is. I attached screenshots to show the root and nice interface. My wife loves her pics in the mid. I'm in the military... what a better way for her (nagging... j/k) to see her everyday. This device is awesome!

Thx in advance
i think should be setcpu.....
cant even find setcpu in the market, but read it somewhere on htc evo 4g to set cpu to 100mhz on idle. but in my case, idle is not eating away battery that much, dunno if it helps
the only one draining is display, around 70%
Your right. It's setcpu. You should be able to find it in the market. I believe it's in the top paid market spot and you should find it by name or by typing root.

for those using setcpu. are you having to auto detect everytime you reboot the device? it doesn't seem to auto detect on mine at bootup. if i don't auto detect, the tab doesn't wake (when on sleep) . i have to reboot it then open up setcpu then menu then auto detect. anyone else have the same problem?
I've been unable to overclock beyond the actual spec of 1ghz. Yes, I'm pretty pleased having been able to choose, granularly under what conditions it uses what amount of CPU - but I'd prefer to have the physical limit, as opposed to the ROM choose the upper end of the speed. Any advice? Is anyone working on this? Is it locked? Is it irrelevant? The system IS pretty damned snaptastic.
Thanks ...
I think if you specify your own frequency list to SetCPU you can overclock the device.
in order to overclock an android device, you first need to obtain source code (not sure if its available yet) so a developer can tinker with the kernel.
setcpu allows you to set min/max standards, but unless the kernel supports it, you cannot clock over what setcpu reads (stock 1ghz)

Why would you even bother with overclocking this phone? It's already got a Thousand megahertz.. Literally
I'm the developer of the overclocking app, QuickClock, and I was wondering if any DroidPro owners had tried it out? I've attempted to add support for the DroidPro but I've yet to find out if it actually works or not. Should work fine, since it's the same CPU and QuickClock's speed detection works universally, but I'd love to have some confirmation.
Thanks much

I overclocked my droid pro to about 2.0 ghz without any instability with quickclock... it doesnt have a very large performance increase though... just slightly...
*EDIT* Never mind the application was malfunctioning and set my min clock to 9999mhz and my max was 1000mhz i re installed and atm its calibrating... max atm is 1305mhz with a big difference in performance... thanks for the app

Hi. I'm using a droid pro w cm7 v8 vanilla rom. Prob is quickclock gets stuck during calibration. It gets stuck trying to find the BMV. I'm guessing something is blocking the app from changing the value? It gets way down into negative numbers and will keep going all night. I made sure the app has root permissions. Any ideas? Thx in advance

Why is it when there are any articles on the Xperia Play the comment sections are always full of "know it all's" that slag the device off without even trying it?
Take a look at Eurogamers new article for example then go down to the comments section - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-09-06-sony-ericsson-no-need-for-xperia-play-2

Problem its people look at specs and benchmarks and never do their own research, very annoying that people including supposedly respectable reviewers are too bothered about the silly specs!
IMO this phone is better than any I've tried, sensation, galaxy s2, desire hd and s none hold up to the gaming and general experience of the XP, just need more advocates like us!
Sony have done really well with the software and all the xda people make things loads better!

Ditto.
People using 'single core' as an argument against it automatically revoke any chance that their opinion is reputable. People who know what they're talking about know it has some blazing fast high-quality memory and acceleration that's great enough to keep it's performance right up there with the dual cores.
Samurai II on Xperia PLAY runs just as smoothly as it does on the Atrix.
Don't mind them.. I came from iPhone also, but nothing compares our phone for now.. I know deep inside of them they want this phone too, they just dont admit that they made a wrong decision by choosing their current phone over this..
I’m happy with it and that is all that matters to me.
