Unable to initalize camera error - Caused by Opera 10 Beta - HD2 General

Hi -
I get the above error every time I try to open my camera on the HD2. It also says 'Failed to set up the camera device'.
I did edit the registry from the tweak thread but I'm sure I did it correctly..
Any ideas?
Thanks
Edit: Okay after searching the forum I found out that this issue is caused by Opera 10 Beta being installed, so I uninstalled it and the camera now works fine. But, I really don't like the older Opera, so does anyone know of a way to fix the beta version so the camera works fine with it too?

is anyone able to help with this?
thanks

I've done two soft resets now and it didn't make a difference. Does anyone know of anything else I can try?

I'm guessing there is some other variable too, but others had the same issue and after uninstalling Opera it was resolved.

PIE "back button", help

I Can't use the back button on my 8525 with PIE alone or PIE plus 2.2, every time the Back button is press it go back to the previous page and close PIE completely. I fix it by doing a hard reset but it same problem came back after a while. May be when adding some program lead to this problem.
Anyone know is there a registry edit can fix it? I don't want to hard reset just to fix this problem.
Thanks
I got the same problem with PIE spanish version. I think that is a PIE bug...

It might be a bug, but my feeling is Tandao suggestion of an installed application changing PIE behaviour is more likely as I've never had this problem and I use PIE a lot.
Might be an idea if both of you posted your installed applications to see if there are any common likely applications that might cause this.
A registry tweak would be nice if anyone knows which key?
Mike
I guess that it's a bug because I don't notice that it works even after my last hard reset... So, unfortunately, I can't give any clue about an application that changes this behaviour.
I used PIE alone with this problem, with MultiIE (same problem) and with PIEplus (with the problem too). I finally switch to NetFront.

Although you have no other programmes running when you are using PIE, some other programmes could still be affecting how PIE works. When programmes are installed, often registry entries are changed. Don't you have any other applications installed?
Cheers

This happened to me (using Artemis) after I installed a commercail (i.e. paid for) program from Ectaco / Lingvosoft. They knew about this and sent me a file FT_ctx.arm.CAB which solved the problem. You should check other programs you have installed in case they are causing problems.

Opera crash

Hi all,
each time I shut down Opera, it crashes, and I have a screen explaining me Opera crach ......
I've the stock release.
This issue appeared one day but I don't know when, maybe a problem with an installed application ????
Any idea to fix it ?
Kaz
Did you install Flashlite 3.1 ? That program makes opera slow and unstable.
thx for your answer,
no flashlite on my phone .......
Kaz
I have the same thing, I have installed quite a few things lately though.
Guess the only option is to hard reset and start over.
i have the same prob. installed latest beta last night still has the same prob. means i cant change the settings and save them, so cant impliment that iplayer fix as a result.
I think I solved the problem. In my case it appeared after I played with build 2808. Opera started crashing on exit and even hanging the device. It turned out that while I didn't have Flash installed, opera.ini still pointed to a non-existing plugin folder, \Windows\Opera9\plugins. So I simply went to opera:config, found the path setting, reset it to default (blank), and the problem is gone!
No, today it started crashing on exit again for no apparent reason, and what's worse, it hangs the device completely!
Does anybody have stock unmodified files so I can try to replace what I have in \Windows\Opera9?
when you say crash, is this when you get the thing asking you to send an error report to m$? if so i get the same thing. i'm unsure whats causing it and dont want to hard reset. the way i olook at it currently is it doesnt seem to crash when i actually use opera so i try and ignore it
Found it!
I had installed that Seismo thing that needs HTCAPI.DLL in the windows folder.
When I removed that, no more Opera crash (yes the one where it asks to send a report to MS)
And I did a hard reset for that!

In my case it was sometimes hanging the whole device. I had to reset it using the button in the battery compartment.
I solved the problem finally (at least it's been working for a whole day without any crashing) by uninstalling .Net CF 3.5 and Gyrator 2

Confirmed. I did it as well. I tried it before removing and got the crash. i removed it, loaded opera, exited it and no crash.
I installed that .dll because VR Hologram needed it.

Same here. Although the strange thing is why it's not crashing with this dll in my \Windows folder.
Maybe it's a trilateral conflict between Opera, .NET CF 3.5 and the dll, and removing one of the three solves the issue?

That sounds plausible, I still have .NET CF3.5 without the DLL and have not had Opera crashing since removing HTCAPI.DLL, I need .NET for more than that DLL.
Added this to the HD Wiki page

I confirm. Removal of the htcapi.dll file also solved my opera crash problem.
HTCAPI.DLL versions
Hi All,
I had the same problem with Opera crashing the phone on exit.
today I found that I have 2 htcapi.dll on my desktop that it seems I have downloaded. I was about to delete one of them when I realized that they have different sizes. one around 7KB and the other one around 4 KB.
so I checked the one installed on my HD and it was the 7KB so I replaced it with the smaller one, and so far no crash anymore.
I hope this will help you guys.
I am attaching the file for you to try.
Regards
Bassem
Hey all. I am still having this problem even after deleting the above .dll. Basically when I go to exit opera, the whole phone locks up and I have to hard reset or remove the battery and reset the phone that way. Any suggestions as to what could be going on? It only started this 3 days ago, and I ahven't installed any new apps/programs in the past week.
Edit, solution found in other thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468861

Pandora and TP2

I've read that others are able to run Pandora. Well, I can't run it on my tp2 (the cab file was the PandoraVga+Ivan1 that's circulating here in xda). I keep getting a C++ debug error. I've removed and reinstalled the app, ran memmaid to clean out bad files/registry, but that didn't work. So I installed the same cab to my husband's tp2 and it ran without any problems and no error messages.
Can anyone help? I'm very close to doing a hard reset.
Thank you for your input,
Theresa
Pandora works now!!!
So the C++ error must be because of conflicts from other previous software installs. I did a backup restore to a few weeks back and reinstalled pandora. Works like a charm!
I attached the cab that works on the tp2.
Good to know my TP2 gets here this week and I've been eagerly awaiting using Pandora on the go. Thanks!
i actually just installed the SP version of Pandora and it seems to work jsut fine the only problem is that the keys are hard to press because they are too small
Song stops before end?
I just installed this on my TP2 with Sprint stock rom.
Works mostly, but the song stops before the end and then says connecting and starts a new song.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
Found my own answer!!
Do this for fully working pandora!!
http://fluffyphones.com/how-to-wind...-htc-touch-protouch-diamond-plays-full-songs/
My bad! It does not play full songs still!
Anyone know how to fix this issue???
probably have to do the advanced config 3.3 fix where you set the network packet size at 98xxx. Can't remember the value. The question presented was whether or not this would slow down the TP2's internet speeds. Give it a shot and report back!

Does anyone think Pandora will release an official application on their website for us to use?

Pandora debug error fix. Took me awhile to find it but there is a topic here at xda

Here is the credit
Well Pandora works on T-Mobile's network with the TP2, at least.
I've been trying to make the text for the menus bigger, but hadn't had any luck yet.
Installed, but where is it?
I've installed both cabs. However where is the shortcut or the program entry point?
Thanks!

Sadly no as WinMo is now dead thanks to WP7...
for this reason i switched over to slacker for my phone. there is a cab file, the buttons are big enough to press and the sound quality is way better than the hacked pandora one

Opera Mobile 10 beta - HTTP Error 400

Each time that I launch Opera Mobile 10 beta I get an error message: HTTP Error 400: Your browser sent a malformed request.
After receiving the error I refresh and the problem disappears.
Any advice on how I can get rid of the error?
With Opera Mobile 9 when typing a url in the address bar it brings up a different keyboard, with '.com' and '/' keys, is it possible to switch this on in Opera 10?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Kushmir
I'm afraid I've no solution but can tell you I've got exactly the same problem and came across your post as I was googling to find a solution!
Had this on every beta since first beta -and now on beta 3 :-(
Anyone solved this?
Marky_UK
Hi Marky_UK,
I recently downloaded beta 3, and for a short while the problem was resolved, but has now returned.
I reported it to Opera as a bug.
The other problem with Opera 10 is that it does not auto-rotate to landscape mode.
Opera 9 also had a different keyboard layout when typing URLs, this is not present in 10.
Hiya
Ahhh, all the same problems here! Damn, I thought this had been built and released for such a long time, such small bugs would've been squashed by now and it was just me!
Well, thanks for the reply and update!

Try this version of opera from mike2037, it's working fine for me

Meaningless blather which has been censored. Carry on.
Hi there
This post is actually about an error/problem in Opera 10 Mobile - and not about Flash Lite. Do you want to start another post to discuss that? I'd really like to try and solve the problems raised by Kushmir/myself.
Thanks!

Yeah, sorry to hijack the thread. I'll edit and repost.
Curious Geekyness
Just out of pure curiosity and being sad... What's different about this version compared to the original that stops it getting error:400?
i was getting this so installed opera beta 3 and it was better but like one of the guys said in 3 the auto rotation is disabled so ive gone back to 2 and just refresh the page as i like the rotation.

Opera,s speed is better than IE
and it,s faster!
same here...
MyOpera always crashes when opening web sites.
It just starts to open the site and I can see it, but then it crashes without warnings or errors.
The same site loads in IE without problems...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

Install Opera again
Hi.
Just install Opera again.
I had the same issue and re-install solved it, no hard reset necessary.
Look for Opera v9.70.36034_HVGA.cab here in forum.
hmmmm...
Maybe I did something wrong, but with the search string "Opera v9.70.36034_HVGA.cab" I was unable to find it. Even google didn't...
Would you be so kind to attach it here?
Thanks in advance,
Marti
