[REQ] Ubiquity style app - Android Software Development

Was wondering if there exists a ubiquity style app or widget for android, and if not why not?
I dont know how many are familiar with how ubiquity addon for firefox works but the core idea is like a command line for the web to save pointless clicking and cross site surfing.

iPhone scroll and animation

Quick question. Has anybody developed the IE scroll for the PPC/WM5? Second has anybody developed the open and close of applications animations?
Thanks in advance.
IE scroll --> don't know
Animate window is in Tweaks2K2 .NET , but I don't know ,is it ok for you , just try
looking for a free app, heard of tweaks2.net but would rather not pay.
actually, something that animates smoothly like the iphone and scroll are available. The one I've just heard about is itask over at the Lakeridge website. It works with wisbar I think. And as for the scrolling effect. It depends. If you just want that in your contacts list, there are a couple here like icontact or contacts manager that has the finger scrolling effect. But if you wanted it in all programs like Internet explorer, you might want to check out the touchflo stuff. Its ripped from the HTC touch device, but they have gotten it working on the wizard already, but it still has its bugs. Try it out and make the decision yourself. Hope that helps
the program PIE has a screen drag for internet explorer
Picture Scroller
Is there anything Like the Iphone Picture scroller available?
Thanks for the replys, I saw itask, im not running wisebar (wanting to see what I can do with freebies for a while). I used Icontact for a while, had some issues scrolling and clicking contacts etc.
I cant find that PIE app (searched google and mainly get..well pies..lol)
im searching out the touchflo now, but not seeing Apache, missing something?

Try searching for 'Pocket Internet Explorer', I believe that is what it is called (although I don't use it. I use picsel browser at the minute with my iPhone theme)
You don't need Wisbar Advance to use iTask. It uses Macromedia Flash 7 and Mort Script to work which is entirely free.
PIE is "Pocket Internet Explorer" which is built into most Pocket PCs today. What you need to look for is PIE Plus which uses PIE and adds tabbed browsing, finger scrolling and lots of other goodies. It's not free but worth it. Wisbar is also worth it for that matter as it is inexpensive
Whatg would you guys say is the most like the Safari browser? I have only used Picsel but have heard of opera mini 4 being like safari, and also deepfish.
iTask is pretty awesome unto it self, (im gunna play with it..lol), but im more looking to use the standard application of the phone and just add the animation when opening or closing windows.
PIE Plus seems to be exactly what I want in regards to the internet apps, but dont want to pay for it..Anybody know of another free app?
^^I'd love the transitions from itask, but on wisbar.

I edited your post...LOL
Why did you do that. I think I would want the same thing delude wants.
I want those iTask transition animations to work on Wisbar Advanced Desktop
Meaning I wouldn't need iTask anymore.

Sprint Touch in the mail. What should I download to prep?

So I just ordered my HTC Touch from sprint and im wondering what would you guys suggest my out of the box routine be for it as far as apps / roms install? I have no problem paying for apps so don't hold back only listing free ones.
I want:
-Iphone style web browser or closest to it.
-GPS that has voice navigation
-AIM client.
-Any type of myspace mobile client? (yeah, i switched to sprint from Helio)
-None busted looking homescreen. (point UI any good for this?)
-Remote desktop program
-TV client (im guessing slingbox?)
-Default keyboard replacement for easy/fast onscreen typing
-Stock checker program. (something I can open and it will automaticlly refresh a few set stocks)
-dialer skins
-phone as modem app
-MUST have registry tweaks.
I had the AT&T 8125 in the past running win mobile 5. That experience was horrible. I hope this one is a lot better.
Thanks in advance.

opera or opera mini
-GPS that has voice navigation
you need to d/l the Windows Mobile 6.1 update (not necessarily the official release but the only way to get GPS) and then you'll have to buy a turn-by turn voice navigation client. I use tomtom. Works great.
-AIM client.
jivetalk beta. smoothest GUI of any out there, and very touch friendly
-Any type of myspace mobile client? (yeah, i switched to sprint from Helio)
opera or opera mini

do a search, depends on your preference
-Remote desktop program
do a search (no idea)
-TV client (im guessing slingbox?)
do a search (slingbox costs $$$)
-Default keyboard replacement for easy/fast onscreen typing
the 6.1 update comes with a new keyboard, trust me nothing's going to be easy/fast typing until you get used to the touch
-Stock checker program. (something I can open and it will automaticlly refresh a few set stocks)
do a search (no idea)
-dialer skins
do a search, there's a billion out there
registry hacks? do a search.
Not sure if you've gotten the memo or not, but it does tend to help if you search as all of these topics have been beaten to death, if not here over at ppcgeeks.com which is another great site to browse and find answers at. but use the search function first.
Try building your own ROM from ppckitchen.org. They make it so easy and have so many apps and games to choose from including a bunch of today plugins. Follow the directions on the site about unlocking/upgrading bootloader, radio, etc... Make sure to follow directions EXACTLY as it is stated.
Its a big list, you choose what you wan't in your rom, and all you do is press play and it builds it for you! Believe me you will love it.

Best Remote Desktop experience? (dual monitor)

I am trying to find the best combination or app for a good Remote Desktop. It needs to be able to display a dual monitor desktop.
I was using NetSupport but I am looking for something that's more reliable.
If you can use an browser based solution, I've used LogMeIn with some success. It won't show both monitors simutaneously but you are able to switch between them.
Ho'okani
Real VNC
I've always used Real VNC, quick, small, functional. It also supports dual monitors. I use it to manage 10 PCs at work - saves me getting off my arse to prove that my administrator is just being dumb.
http://www.realvnc.com/services/mobile.html
One small problem with it on WM6.5 ROMs though - if you go to the options page, the "ok" button is at the bottom right, and gets covered by the new menu bar. Generally I don't need to change the settings as the default is right for me.

Web Page Icons

Hi There
I was wondering if there was such an application or modification I could use on my SGS 2.2 JPM so that I can save websites to my homescreen using the original website icons that usually appear in IE8, Firefox etc....

Some better made web apps have icons already. eg, Android And Me, BBC iPlayer have icons when you add a shortcut to that particular bookmark

[Q] IE Emulators

Hi,
Are there any realtime online stock trading system running on the Android?
I'm trading online realtime using Win7 on a PC. I use Chrome, and has a plugin that emulates the IE, cuz the trading system I use, use Active-X and other MicroSoft's dependencies.
I have another running on Mozilla Frefox, which is more Web based (using Java).
Does Android use JRE? I plan to get a Android tablet soon, and would like to do some serious work on it - programming, realtime stock trading, besides the usual 'Net browsing.
Or is Android just for the boys, whilst Win7 is more seriously meant for the men?
tablet and serious work don't exactly go hand in hand lol
