hd2 htc lower screen surface - HD2 General

Just wondering, if your htc hd2 has a hatched line effect when viewed from certain angels in the light? it seem a little strange to have these criss/cross lines.

They all have it, it's mentioned in the manual.

soft sparkle in the screen ?

Just got my unit today and love it.
Only notice a soft sparkle (like when you splash water on any LCD screen) but it's very soft and only noticeable at certain angle.
quick call to friend who has HD2, same problem.
anyone else have that problem ?
it is not a problem, it's how this capacitive display is built. at certain angle You will also notice a grid of lines and tiny dots.

It sounds to me like you've noticed the grid in the screen. This is part of the capacitive screen design, and not a fault or issue. It's there on everyone's phone, but as you've obviously seen, it's so unnoticable normally that you just forget about it.
Is it that, or something else?
Edit:
Or you could you read the post above
just curious, how come I didn't notice it on iphone ? lower screen resolution + smaller screen ?

I couldn't say why you didn't notice it, but it is there.

Screen shows horizontal lines wandering on light colors - Please test

Hi,
i set my background to something light green recently and noticed that my HD2 display shows many small, yet annoying interference lines going through my screen horizontally.
I noticed this before on the orange "Windows Phone" boot screen, so maybe someone could check if it's normal.
Please boot your phone and when the orange Windows Phone screen pops up look carefully/closely whether you can see (light) interference in form of horizontal lines wandering up and down your screen. Need to know whether my device is broken or whether it's normal behavior.
Thanks.

your device is ok...
All HD2s has this problem (I'm not sure that this is a problem)
I notice this on LCD TVs, too...It's when cables are badly shielded...My Kaiser def. does NOT have this issue! It's not visible on default config - but once you change your wallpaper to something yellow/green/orange/red it starts to annoy you :/
Could anyone else test this and tell me if they see light interference lines on the orange Windows Phone bootscreen (when looking very closely).
Kind of looks like this, but not as bad:

lcd backlight problem

i have this strange backlight problem since i bought my HD2. At the bottom you can see it in the pics attached. any one having the same issue?
no pic attached
sorry its my first attempt at posting pics. corrected.
It's not a backlight "problem", you're simply looking at the backlight LEDs that you can just about notice from that particular angle. Perfectly normal.

Do you mean that all capacitive screens have this? i had before an HTC HD with a resistive screen and didn't notice those LEDS.
yeah its just a slight bit of backlight bleeding and then the leds you can see as posted above. This is normal for led backlights and is certainly not as bad on the hd2 as it has been on other phones/lcd screens.
isnt that a ccfl?
i'm sure, the hd2 hasnt got a led backlight!.
got it too
DN41
As others have said thats perfectly normal.
You can see it on almost any backlight device. Even TVs at the right angle!

Capacitive / resistive doesn't affect that, it's a layer put above the actual LCD module. The LEDs are INSIDE that module. But some module types will have it more noticeable than others. Anyway, they're made to be viewed within a "normal" angle, who would watch his screen so much from the side...
Already think a moment on how clever these LED-backlit screens are designed... now you have seen where the LEDs are, all on one single screen edge (and the short one to make it more difficult), and how perfectly even they manage to light the entire screen surface with that... the light guide sheet assembly under the LCD is amazing.
All phones with color screens have used LED backlight, CCFL was just too huge for phones.

X2 screen problem!!!

I have a problem with my Xperia X2 when i tilt the device to see the upper limit of the screen (which lies prior to 3g camera) while the screen lights ,there is leakage of light above the display as the display not settled in its place well...
Any one have this problem also??
Please any one have X2 just examine it and tell me?
That's to know if i can return it on guarantee...
Hi!
I can see some light in the area you describe, but only when I tilt the phone so that the viewing angle is about 15-20 degrees. It has never bothered me.
Thanks Prydplante for reply, but is this light more near 3g camera or near the sensor or equal through the upper limit of the screen?
Any one can answer me?

No one have X2!!!
Hi!
When I tilt it from 90 to 0 degrees viewing angle I first start to see the light at the 3G camera-side. This happens at about 15 degrees. When tilt it further I also see the light in a small area under the "S" in Sony Ericsson, at about 10 degrees. Tilting it further I can see a little light along the whole upper edge of the display. But this is not important to me.
Really thanks Prydplante for reply and hoping more efficient build quality from Sony Ericsson in next windows phone mobile...

[Q] HTC Legend touch problem?

Recently I found that the Legend sometimes behaves a little strange... sometimes I need to to push the display quite hard, not only to touch it slightly. And I found that this happens when the phone is left on a table and I am touching only the display( not the aluminium body). If the phone is held in hand or placed in the charger has no problems ... Here is a video:
(I still can`t post any links so please search youtube for exactly "HTC Legend touch problem" video posted from ggrozdanov5 to see it)
Is your Legend behave like mine do?
First of all stop pressing you display hard, that wont help anything. The legend touch interface works based on electrical current differences between your body and the screen.
It is most likely a grounding issue and is not an uncommon problem among touch screen phones. Try touching part of the metal body at the same time you touch the screen.

instead of pressing hard try to make just more contact to the screen
for ex. lay your hand palm on the screen (softly)
you screen is made from glass and will brake if you press to hard !
Guys, I appreciate the advices, but please don`t pay that much attention to the word "hard". If you had watched the video you would see what I`m talking about. I know exactly how to make my phone work correctly - just to hold it in hand, or touch it with a finger anywhere on the aluminium body. I wonder is this a problem for every HTC Legend, is it a problem just for a few devices, is this normal behaviour for an HTC Legend... and so on...
I don't get such behaviour

Not entirely true...As most devices have PCT (Projective Capacitive Touchscreen), this issue would not happen on them.
But I think the legend designers wanted to make legend cheaper, so they gave legend the SCT (Surface CT). Given that Legend body is anodized aluminum which held in palm has a low impedance, it is sufficient...but in cases like this it might not work so good...
I have this issue in bed when the phone is on the sheet or so, but most materials transtalte capacity changes pretty well, so it's not so annoying...
