[HELP] O2 Atom Exec Peculiar screen Problem - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

I flashed the phone using 'ULTRA FAST/LOW BATT]Atom Exec WM6.5 (CE OS 5.2.21728) ROM IN BLACK SUIT' found here [Thanks a lot to Jamie..]... and it just looks great !!
.. But there is one problem... the screen shows white horizontal lines (multiple thin lines across the screen) and another vertical line about .5cm on left side(this vertical line is not white, but imagine cutting right side of an image and paste it to left side of an image...)
I also found that the screen problem gets rectified when i clean boot the system (PWR + RESET) and restore to factory defaults, but returns again if I soft reset the phone.... I dont seem to understand... can anyone help ?

Please help !! Magician stuck at screen-alignment after hard-reset ...

Please help !! I've just performed a hard-reset on the Magician (the S100, by pressing the "on" and "reset" buttons together) and it now boots up to the point where it asks the user to align the screen, I mean it lets me click on the 4 corners of the screen (on the little cross) and keeps on accepting my clicks (I must have clicked already over 20-30 times around the 4 corners of the screen and it doesn't proceed to the next step ... what should I do ?? ... should I leave it without the main battery for a couple of hours or something ?? is there any other way to (completely) hard-reset the unit ?? (i.e. I've read in the past in some posts something about a "bootloader" sequence ??
Hello there,
You seem having some troubles on digitizer.
Try to clean it under the cover using a thick piece of paper like a business card.
Sometimes, if someting is between the cover and the digitizer; this will not work very well.
Pass it all over the four sides removing dust, hairs and so on..
Then try again.
Let me know
cheers
There's no other way to hard-reset 'more completely' ... you are already doing the complete hard reset.
It's obviously very weird. I would agree, to clean the screen completely and see if that does the trick. Also, use the original stylus with the pointy head and not a pen cover or something ... make sure you're accurate when aligning the screen.
You can enter the bootloader but it won't help you ... you can re-flash the ROM from the bootloaded but it doesn't seem like it's a ROM problem. It sounds like it's the screen HW problem.

SPV M3100 align screen problem

Hi! i had problems with my m3100 (right upper corner was sometimes automatically ´typing´ ) but this problem was resolved when i read guide how to fix it on this site (bussines card trick, or allow two screws), however it comes back and i must do hard reset, now after hard reset, when i turn my device on everything is ok (it shows welcome...) and i tap on display and align screen is necessary, i align the screen but it comes back always...so is there some chance to turn on system without screen aligment? or something that would fix it? of course i have warranty , but i don´t want to be month withou my phone thanks for answers

wizard just shows white screen

everytime i turn on my phone allthat shows it a white screen
Hint:
Try a soft reset - poke at the reset hole on the side.
Or if that does not work, try hardresetting it (WARNING: Will erase everything on ROM (not on SD device though)
have u dropped down ur cellphone???
the screen is all white i cant send anything and yes i droped it but it was working when i tuned it on
i think you have to open up your phone and see if the flat cable is all the way connected. For some odd reason on my old 8125, i flash black diamond to it and when i turned on the phone it faded to white. So i opened it up to see if it was the flat cable and it wasnt. Let me kow if that works for you though.

HELP! Touch screen no longer working!

This morning, my touch screen suddenly stopped working. Hardware keys are still working but device is not responding when the screen is touched. Already tried a hard reset but no success, now I am stuck at the align display screen. Also can no longer get to the bootmenu, so can't reflash my device! Any suggestions on what's wrong or how this can be fixed? Thanks for any help!!!!
I'm curious
Didn't you see any spots (like oil spots on the water) to the touch screen ?
I had the same problem .I replaced the touch screen and the phone is working again .
No, nothing, was working fine at night, when i woke up just randomly stopped working. The display is not cracked or anything, so wondering whether a screen replacement will do the trick? ALso strange that I can no longer get to the bootscreen to enter HardSPL...
Had the same problem, the issue (with mine anyhow) was the digitizer, which is an overlay that sits on top of the actual LCD screen to give it touch capability....
good post here

I had a similar problem,
To get past the Align screen I had to apply pressure to the top of the screen opposite side of front facing camera - then use the screen as normal
I reflashed the original rom (manually getting to bootloader) - it worked for a bit but ended up sending is back to 02 for repair.
All they did apparently, was to reflash the ROM again and its been working since.
Had the same problem a couple of times a while ago, when i was trying out WM6.5.
All buttons worked but not the touch screen. Never really found out exactly what the problem was, but the first time I managed to get it working again by resetting the alignment:
While gps button pressed (under green button), press center D-pad button this will bring you to alignment screen.
The other time the "alignment trick" didn't work, but i got it working again, after flashing the original ROM couple of times. (And doing hard reset between each time)
I think I used this ROM
You say you can't get to the boot menu, do you run hard-SPL?
most likely its an hardware issue - had this one too, of course out of nowhere!
flash with original rom and if you cannot align screen (as the hardware seems to be broken) send it in for repair. it will be under guarantee, if screen isnt broken.
I had similar problem, I passed the alignment but i had a huge offset in the touch.
I replaced the touch screen and it solved the problem.
You can find it in ebay for 1 US $.

Click to collapse
Thanks for all the help guys!!! I do run hard-SPL and have flashed many ROMS - just don't know why it won't enter the bootscreen anymore when I reset the device and press the camera button. Did manage to upload original ROM again by using activesync, now trying to restore original hard-SPL so I can send off the device for repair.
Hi, i had also the same problem, i find a threat in the internet... try to push the upper corners on the device with your fingers and then tab on the screen to see if the problem solved.
I had the same issue.
Its more than likely your digitizer. I tried flashing 100 different roms but always stuck at the align screen stage.
I actually have the barely used digitizer if anyone wants it (for a few dollars of course hehe) My mainboard died a couple of weeks after i installed the digitizer.
needless to say i moved away from the ****ty build quality of HTC to the MUCH better build quality of the iPhone.

[Q] Green vertical line of pixel during bootscreen

During the first boot screen (the one where "Samsung galaxy S IV - I9505" is displayed) there is a vertical green line of pixel in the left of the screen who runs across the entire screen from top to bottom.
It disappears immediately after during the boot animation from my carrier and it never appears anywhere else when using the phone. Besides that everything is working fine and I haven't got any issue with the phone, no dead pixels or other problems I can think of.
I'm just wondering if it's an hardware issue and I should be worried about it and change the phone at the shop or if it's just some weird kernel bug who could easily be fixed.
I could already have checked by installing another rom but I don't really want to tinker with the phone because of warranty issues...
My phone carrier is Orange France.
