Hi there,
I've just come across a weird crash, and I'm not sure what's causing it. I When I turn on my phone, it starts loading up normally, then it stops, and a message comes up saying "tap here to start HTC Sense" It's now done it twice, and both times I had to do a hard reset to fix it. Any ideas what might be happening? I'm still new to the phone, so any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
David
If it happened twice maybe you should see which apps do you install after a hard reset and see which one could cause this.

Hi there,
I have a HTC trinity with the hellboy rom on, Just randomly today it has started restarting in a loop, it won't go into windows, it gets the Unlock button appearing but then goes straight back to the begining , I have no clue as what is wrong but I can't use my phone atm. Its really annoying and I don't want to have to go back to an LG viewty. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?
I don't have a clue what might be happening, but did you try to hard reset the device? You do have a backup, don't you?
Yeah I do
I do have a backup, and have tried a hard reset, However I have managed to get it loaded, All I had to do was leave it restarting, it has taken a couple of hours. Its a really wierd problem, I am gonna keep an eye on it and see if it does it again. I'll keep people abridged of my issue in-case no one has had this 1 before.
Cheers for the reply

just so anybody who has the same problem as me, I fixed this by warming the phone up, I believe it was damp/moist inside, I had just been in a steamy location just before I had this problem.
Cheers
Just wondering if anyone else have the same problem .. it's driving me nuts during hard resets, i have been reading this forums almost everyday and don't see anyone reporting on this issue
whenever i do a hard reset and try to install all my programs. In the midst of installing the programs, Manila will randomly get corrupted and i will be unable to use the touchscreen properly. At the START menu, whatever program i touch, it will show "MOVE TO THE TOP" and i can't scroll up or down.
i have to hard reset again in order to restore Manila and install the programs very very slowly and with a lot of time lag in between programs installation. Meaning, i install program A .. wait for 1-2 hours, install program B .. wait for 1-2 hours ...
very very irriting and i seem to be able to duplicate the issue quite successfullly. I ever had to hard reset 5-7 times during the weekend, until i realise i can prevent the issue by install my programs very very slowly.
Has anyone encountered the same problem?

Does it happen if you don't install any software? I only ask in case it's a particular application that's causing the problem.
If it does happen, you should immediately get on to your supplier to arrange a replacement.

that's the strange thing, it doesn't happen at any particular application .. and after hard reset, it will work fine.
it sorts of happens randomly, whilst during program installation.
i'm thinking of bringing it down to HTC service center but i bet they will do a hard reset and show me that everything's fine and blame it on the 3rd party SW.

Can you not try using it for a while without any 3rd party software? Just to see if it happens that way. This is obviously not a long-term solution, but if it only happens during installation then it actually does sound like that's the problem.

have tested that out, the symptops will NOT surface, in fact the phone is very stable as long as i don't do a mass installation of the apps. Now i am restricting myself for 1 App installation PER DAY.
but i can successfully duplicate the issue almost 95% of the time by doing a mass installation of my apps (install1, reboot, install App2 ..)
very strange and it seems not as wide spread as i thought it would be .. i have not heard of such similar problems yet.

Help, not just anybody, Help, you know I need someone, help.
The Beatles I love that song...but seriously all kidding aside.
Over the last few weeks...every time I restart my phone I get a white sreen thats says....."We are sorry but services.exe could not be blah blah blah..." Anyone ever come across this?! The phone continues to work perfectly fine. and it only for maybe less than a minute while sense is booting up and once sense is booted it goes away and never comes back until I restart again. I just hit send report and it is gone?! Any ideas. I looked in the windows folder and found the services.exe but have not idea what it is or what it is for?! I clicked it to launch nothing happend (that i know of) so I copied a shortcut into the startup folder. I just restarted and it appears as if it went away. So I am just throwing this out...it might be a fix if anyone has ever come across this......
This was one of the errors that lead me to get a custom ROM and leave the crappy stock.
But there is a post somewhere here about this very topic,,unfortunately I have no clue where to find it...but one of the devs there suggested that if you dont want ot see that error anymore...just simply turn off error reporting in settings.
Otherwise the sevices.exe is a service that instantly restarts itself everytime it fails...and that is why that error has no meaning or effect at all.
A few days ago I rebooted my HD2 and sense failed to load 3 times then came up onscreen as "unable to load HTC Sense, tap to try again" and as far as I know quite alot of people are having this problem, I have tried disabling it/reboot/enable it but no luck, help? also do you think it might be related to the peep problem?
Me too...was making a call when the phone froze, took the battery out and when i started it again it showed the home screen with T Mobile on it (I use Optus in Australia) and when i turned it off and on again it said "Unable to start HTC Sense..."
Have soft reset it a few times after switching the default home screen and sense in settings to no avail. Hopefully there is a way around this without hard resetting. I couldn't solve the issue by reading the 11 page thread on this from march either..im a newb
please help
i encountered similar problem once. what i did was : if you have cookie's home tab installed, try uninstalling it while having sense disabled. then, soft reset and enable sense and see if it works.
hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply, still nothing though...removed CHT and disabled>enabled sense and still nothing.
takes longer then usual to start and then doesn't prompt me for my pin code and then just stays on my today background.
i can get into the start page and use my wifi from there but cant make calls as it wont recognize my network
Also says .net framework has an issue when i updated that months and months ago ???
very frustrating!
maybe you should back up your data first, then hard reset your phone. It's the only way I'm afraid.
search for "unable to launch htc sense"....
first thread contains numerous fixes, worth trying that before a hard reset....
did everything on the other threads except hard reset :/ just been using android to make up for it but still i miss sense!
Hard Reset fixed it....stayed up very late to fix it, but fixed :S
only problem = xtask doesn't auto run despite having the option ticked
Hey guys, I have had my Note 4 for about 3 years now and it has never done me wrong. However, things have taken a turn for the worse... I started noticing a few days ago that it was slowing down on me, I mean, really slowing down. Big lag times when it comes to swiping to open the screen, or changing between apps, and the occasional self-shut down when the battery got down to about 15-20%. I had been putting off doing a self-update for a while, and when I finally had time to do one tonight, in hopes of cleaning it up, it is now lying on its death bed
I do not think the update ever finished (my phone is not rooted) but I was desperate enough to even do a factory reset and that has not fixed the issue.
Here are the symptoms:
As I go to boot the phone, I get past the Samsung Note logo and it looks like it is about to load properly, but then I get a popup that says "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" I hit ok and it keeps popping up again. I can't bypass it.. Then after I get passed that for a split second, another popup comes up that says "unfortunately system UI has stopped" It prevents me from getting to the home screen, in fact the screen behind it is black.
I have tried the following:
Clearing the cache partition from the recovery screen
I have done numerous hard restarts
I have gone through with a factory restart
That is where I have left off, and lost most hope, was with the factory restart. Now when I turn it on, I get past the logos and I can see in the background the page you would get as if it was a brand new phone (it says "Welcome! Preparing you device for first time use.." etc. But I can't do anything about it because I am still getting the same two popups that prevent me from doing absolutely everything!!!)
I have read about this happening and people seem to be able to fix this by accessing certain app setting and either resetting them, or clearing their cache. However, that is not an option for me because I can't get that far. I think something must have went wrong during the update...
Please help with any advice you can think of. I have been putting off rooting this phone pretty much because I was afraid of royally f****** it up, but at this point I am willing to try anything.
Thanks,
Eric
Hey guys, does anyone have any suggestions for my issue?? I am about to go out and buy a new phone, I have no idea what I can do to fix this. I have rooted it using Odin, but the popups are still occurring. I can't get the popups to stop, and they are preventing me from doing absolutely everything.
Is there anyway I can get it to go back to complete scratch? Again, I have done a factory reset, cleared the cache, rooted using Odin. I have done everything I can think of/what I have read I can do. I am willing to try anything at this point.
UPDATE: At this point my phone is on, and the only error message/popup I am getting is "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." Behind that popup is a blank, black screen. The only option I have is to click ok, and the screen remains black.
Temporary solution that might work- Try logging in safe mode: Switch off the phone. Power it on and as soon as Samsung logo appears, release the power button and press and hold the volume down button. Release button when you see Safe Mode on the lower left corner of the screen. Try uninstalling all user apps in safe mode. To get back to the normal mode you can drag down from notification and disable safe mode.
You could also download the latest software for your model from samfirm and flash it via odin after factory reset. Could be a permanent solution.
why you just flash last frimware from sammobile,it will solve all your problems
SOLVED!!!
Alright guys, I was able to solve my problem, all thanks to this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/general/stock-tar-odin-flashable-t3250864
I had already tried flashing a fresh stock rom, but to no prevail. I saw this thread and thought, hey why not give it a shot, and bingo! After downloading the .tar file for marshmellow and launching it through odin, she was good as new! So if anyone seems to have a problem with the system ui or the process phone.android popup, I suggest that thread.
