AS can not connect - but tries it

Hello together,
I have problems to connect my PDA via Active Sync. The computer trys to connect, but the connection failes. I happens on my computer at work and at home.
So if I reinstall the pda with factory settings it works again.
But why?
Someone knows this problem?
I use the newst AS with XP and already tried to reinstall the software and configured the USB to PC connection settings at my device.
The only way to connect the PDA again via AS is a hardreset on my device.
I have this problem all two or three months.
Best regards Karl

1. Soft reset your HD & restart your PC. If not working,
2. Go to HDsettings/connections/USB to PC and un-tick "Enable faster data sync".
Maybe it will work...
Also, go to connection settings in activesync and ensure that "allow usb connections" is enabled
thanks man, but I try that a million time but dosn't work (I have expirience with rooting and flashing roms on my xperia)
it is set just like that but still dosn't working any other idea?
FIREWALL - can block comunications.
It would also help if you state your PC OS.
From ActiveSync I guess it's Windows... but which one?
And does your PC recognize HD in "disc drive mode"?
Ah... I have not heard it yet, but antivirus may be guilty here too...
i try on windows xp, i try on windows 7 but nothing happands when I plug in it in to the PC in every mode, disc drive, active sync...
and i try it with disabled firewall and my anti virus but still nothing, but usb port is working for charging the battery
i recommend for u a program its name (pim backup) its making a backup for ur contacts and calender and call history and all ur favorites things
try to search it and if i find it i will send u the link its petter 1000 times then the active sync
1. Try another USB cable
2. Try on another PC
Regarding PIM Backup I also recommend it, but it can not replace sync with Outlook...
Umm... I guess you use original HTC ROM, since you want to "root it". Which ROM?
I need active sync to root my hd not to beck up files from my phone, can this program do that?
Yes I am using original ROM version:1.14.479.3(25874)wwe
radio version:1.09.25.14
I had tryed on 3 diferent PC's everywhere is the same, but I don't have another cabel to try
and i have new problem, I lost signal of the network on my HD, my phone is dieing
NEED A HELP!
If you're having problems connecting the phone to your PC via USB, and now it's having connectivity problems to your network provider, I'd say it needs a visit to the service centre for repair.
I think that is my only solution
try to wipe device and hard retart your device
Hm, yes... if hard reset does not help, then service is the next step...
And any mini USB cable will do... I'm using one from my Olympus camera...
I try hard reset million times, still nothing... thanks guys but I think that the servis is the only solution
I have try with another usb cable, but still nothing, the problem is not in the cable...
Then it's service...

[Feb 12] [Q] Cannot connect with ActiveSync

Installed BsBTweaks on my HTC HD2, but now ActiveSync won't connect to my phone. PC O/S is Win XP SP2. I'm running WinMo 6.5 and have the latest ROM for the device from my provider, version 3.14.531.1. I get the message: "Critical communication services have failed to start. Try resetting the mobile device, and then connect again." I haven't yet made any changes to the device using BsBTweaks, I only installed it. Have tried rebooting the phone to no avail. I have to use Disk Drive mode to get at the pictures on my SD card. Is there a way to get ActiveSync working again? I'd probably donate to the developers if this problem could get corrected and I can reasonably figure to keep and use BsBTweaks. Thanks.

Restarted the PC - worked like a charm. Thanks a million. I can breathe again.
...And I just made a modest donation. Thanks very much.
Troubleshooting Sync Connection with Your Computer
You can often solve any temporary sync connection problems by disconnecting your phone from the sync cable, waiting a few seconds, and then reconnecting it. However, sometimes you may experience persistent problems related to your network connection (for example, your Internet connection). You may be unable to sync your phone while there is an active network connection on your computer, or the network connection may be cut when you connect your phone to your computer. If this happens, you can try switching to a serial USB connection for your phone:
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab.
2. Tap Menu > All Settings > Connections > USB to PC.
3. Clear the Enable faster data synchronization check box.
4. Tap Done.
