8125 Dead

I have a 8125 and I was able to unlock it fine. After unlocking it I upgraded to the underground crossbow edition rom - which the 8125 rebooted and was running. I tried out a couple things and everything seemed to be running/working fine. It was getting late so I put it down and went to bed. This morning when I got up the phone was off so I went to turn it on and nothing happened. I figured it just ran out of battery power plugged in the charger and guess what no red light on. I have tried everything under the sun but I cant get it to charge or startup. Anyone have any ideas? It was working fine.
i know u said u've tried everything and i don't mean to sound like i'm takin the buscuit, but leave it on charge for n hour, then try bootloader. taking the battery out completely for a while could work.
i had so many problems with crossbow! think this was one of them.
Unplugged
Well so far I left the charger plugged into the phone with the battery in it for over an hour now - with no luck. The red charging light doesn't even come on. Did you have that problem? I also left the battery out and plugged in - still nothing. Tried taking the battery out and then putting it back in while plugged in - no go.
I have not tried the "bootloader" - but the phone will not turn on at all or respond in anyway. Its in a powered down state (or so it seems) - I dont think bootloader will work?? But I dont know anything about bootloader - is it on the ftp site and how do I use it?
Any chance the battery could have been completely discharged?..just a thought. I think i read that completely flat batteries wont charge up via usb. Disregard if thats a silly suggestion, just thought id offer my two cents.
try getting a new battery and see if it boots up...it can be your battery.and you are trying to charge with an AC adapter right?
Wall Charger
I am charing it via the wall charger (not usb) and I am going to try to get another battery. Just weird that I never had a battery problem until I install the wm6??!! Unless the damn thing drained my battery dry and somehow damaged the battery. I called Cingular and they are sending me another unit as its still in warranty. So we'll see when I get it - I will try the new battery. Strange. Very Strange - because everything was working last night.
Strange
Well after leaving the battery out all afternoon I took a go at the phone again, put in the battery then turned it on. It actually started booting up - showing the WM6 bootscreen. After about a minute it shut down like it was out of power. Strange. I know the phone is not bricked because if it was it wouldn't have just done what it did. Anyone have any suggestions how to fix it?
Could be a bad battery. You need to test out with some one else battery

New Battery
Well I finally got the new battery I ordered today. When I put it into my phone it will boot into wm6 fine but will not sync with activesync 4.0 or charge via USB or plugged into the wall. I uninstalled activesync, rebooted my computer and installed Activesync 4.5 - but still no luck with the phone via usb syncing with my pc. Also when the phone in plugged into the wall via the wall charger it does not charge. I am beginning to think the port on the bottom somehow was disabled from the rom update, although I dont see any posts with people having that problem. I guess my next option is trying to reflash it to stock rom via a sd card since it wont connect via USB - however I can not find the information step by step how to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Try going to the bootloader screen: Turn off your phone and then hold the camera button while you turn it on. When you are at the Rainbow screen (thats the bootloader) plug in your USB cord. You should see in the bottom left (above the left soft key) where it says USB. If it doesn't then I'd say your USB port is broken (I'm not aware of any ROM being able to disable that).
As for flashing from the SD card, I believe thats documented in the Wiki...

O2 Exec will not power on after drop

Battery was at lesat 1/2 way to 3/4's charged. I dropped it (I know I know) by accident on my hard wood floor. No rattles, nothing is cracked, but it won't turn on.
I've reseated the battery, sim, and the SD card.
If i unplug the battery and plug it in, the red light comes on. If i connect the battery at this point, and leave ii plugged in to the wall I dont get the amber charging light. For the record, I dont think I had it plugged in to the wall for more than 30 minutes or so, would have thought that would have been enough.
When I connect to the computer, it gives me an error of "USB Device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it"
I tried doing a hard reset as well as boot loader while plugged in to the computer, but not the wall charger.
Anyone know if its likely the battery is dead, or am I looking at a bricked unit? Anyway to tell, aside from buying a new battery?
I don't think your unit is bricked, something broke inside of it, what? who knows, this behaviour can be caused by lots of things, what should you do?
Well, take it to a service center, see if somebody can figure out what happened.
With so little information is hard to say anything else, it do not depens on you neither and it seems like an ugly situation for you.
good luck!

Computer reset and now phone wont turn on

I was changing the frequency of my video card and the screen went blank and I had to reset my computer. After resetting my computer I looked at my phone (which had been plugged in and charging to my computer) and it was off. When I tried to turn it back on the screen flashed for maybe half of a second and went back off. I am using a HTC EVO 4G rooted with gingerbread 2.3 ROM

Sounds like for whatever reason, your battery may be completely dead. Maybe something weird happened when the computer reset...I'm not sure. Do you get a charging led when you plug the phone into the wall (A/C) charger? The USB from the computer isn't strong enough to charge the phone when the battery is completely dead, so you need to plug into the wall. I would charge it up for a while, and then try to turn it on again. If you don't get a charging led at all when you plug it in, I would try a battery that is known to be charged up if you have access to one. Good luck.
It also wouldn't hurt to try doing a battery pull.

It was dead when I first plugged it into my computer and then it started charging. I plugged it into the wall and it still wasn't turning on and wasn't getting a charging LED. I left it on the wall for about 15 minutes and nothing still, right now I have my battery in the freezer. I read somewhere putting your battery in your freezer could fix it or it could be completely wrong.

Take it out of the freezer, leave the phone alone for about an hour then but the battery in and plug it up. When the led light comes on, don't turn the phone on just let it charge. This has happened to me a few times and I thought I screwed something up but I did what I just told you to do and when the led light came on I let it sit and charge and then turned it on in the morning. I think the battery discharged somehow (guess), good luck.

Yea, I'd put it back in the phone and plug it back in. Let it sit for a while, an hour or two. If you don't get an led in that amount of time, you probably won't get one. You can take your battery to sprint and they should be able to boost the battery and bring it back to life.

S7 Edge - Only charges VERY slow in download mode (not recognising USB)

Hi all, and merry Christmas to everyone.
My S7 edge has started to cause problems with charging up, for some reason when phone is turned on, it will not recognise the USB cable. - I have tried a different cable and plug and it still does not work.
When my phone is turned off, each time I plug in the cable I get a battery with a white lightning symbol and then it just goes off nothing shows as charging . So I suspecting the USB port is OK?
I have erased Delvik cache and erased data this does not change anything.
I do however get VERY VERY slow charging when I leave my phone is download mode.
Anybody got any ideas on what to try before I end up getting back in touch with vodaphone?
Thanks all.
UPDATE :
My phone is now completely dead on 0% battery. When I try to turn on the phone nothing happens as expected with 0% battery.
If I then plug in my charger, I get the lightning symbol for 3 seconds and then it goes off. It gives it some kind of a "charge" and I can turn on my phone.
Once it boots back up, their is no indication to say my phone is on charge and the 0% stays their with a red explanation mark and then my phone turns off. back to the stage I cannot turn it on unless I replug the charger cable and then it goes back in the loop.
sounds like the battery has failed.
check your usb plug if theres any missing pins.
Have you tried using a different charger or charging from a PC USB port ?
Looks to me as if it's your charger or your battery which is faulty.
Yes, I have tried a different Plug and lead we have several in the house. too many samsungs haha.
Sounds to me the battery is faulty as well :/ . Im curious as i thought if the phone is plugged in maybe it should stay on and if i then unplug the phone it would turn off instantly?
I contacted vodaphone , i need to pop into their shop on Monday (i think their open) . they have their own repair center in store which sounds good so no need to send phone off for a repair and they give your a courtesy phone to use as well. If they cannot repair it i should be entitled to a replacement.
Worst thing about these phones when you cannot take battery out :/
Thanks Guys . Hope you all have a nice Christmas Day and get what you all ask for !
on 2nd thoughts,
Although this sounds like a battery issue, of course my phone is totally dead wont turn on. but when i plug in my phone to either, the wall or PC. it will turn on and then back off as if the battery has just died.
If i plug the phone into my PC in DOWNLOAD mode, the phone will stay on but my computer doesn't even respond as if nothing is plugged in. This tells me the problem may be more than just battery?
Just a thought.

Galaxy s8 wont charge after being plugged into my computer

So I have a pretty interesting problem and I'm hoping somebody here could give some advice if they've ever had this problem or knows how to fix it. So here's what happened, I have a galaxy S8 and I tried plugging it into my computer to charge it, and it prompted the question something along the lines of, "this computer wants to access data on your phone" and it gave me the option allow or deny. Pretty standard stuff. So I pressed allow, and the same question was prompted again. So I thought huh that's weird, and I kept pressing allow over and over and nothing was happening it just kept coming up again. Pretty annoying. Anyways, I gave up on that after a while and went to plug it into the wall charger like I normally do, and I was surprised to see that it wasn't charging anymore even when I plug it into the wall. I tried switching ports, I tried switching cables, and nothing worked it just quit charging. And I'm just wondering what could have caused this problem? The only thing I can think of is that my computer short circuited the charging port or something, but when I plugged it into the computer again after that it still did the same thing with it asking me that question over and over again, so it obviously recognized that a device is being plugged in which means the charger port should be working fine. Another thing, when all this happened my phone was at 10% battery life, and I tried to turn my phone off and plug it into the wall that way to troubleshoot and see if that would make it want to charge. It didn't charge, and I tried turning it on again but now it is at 0% all the sudden, so I don't know why that happened either. And here's the kicker, this same thing actually happened to TWO of my devices. It's just the first time I didn't realize that it was my computer that messed it up, I just thought that my phone was defective, but it was covered by my insurance and they sent me another one for free(which is awesome). It wasn't until today when it happened again and it clicked that it might not be a defective phone but somehow my computer messed it up. Anyways, I know this was long winded but I wanted to be detailed so you have all the information. If anybody knows how to fix this your advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.
,
to be sure it is not a software problem, open the "USBSettings" by dialing "*#0808#". Try different settings (it shouldn't matter which one you choose, it's just about the resetting of whatever is in there. then connect it to your charger. If it doesn't work, I would reboot the device and try again...
good luck!

Thanks for the response. So I did try that and nothing changed so I guess it's not a software problem. And I actually have an update to the story. I bought a wireless charger and I figured that would work for sure, and my phone turns on but it just stays at 0% and doesn't charge at all. So I really don't know why it would do that and that makes me think that it's something wrong with the battery? I really dont know haha

I have USB 3.0 on my computer but I believe when it happened I plugged it into a USB 2.0. I've had issues with my USB ports acting weird on my computer before. Maybe it has something to do with that?

It's very possible as I have seen a high number of issues with USB 3.0+ and they s8 series. Always try to use 2.0 with this phone. Ive had 2 s8+ have their charging port trying to tether threw 3.0. Had to send them both in. I haven't fount the exact conflict yet but am working on it.
if you recently put it in water, it wont charge until its dry. I doubt this is the problem but its a suggestion. can you boot it up when its plugged in by holding Vol Up, Power, and Bixby? If not try the same thing with volume down. Some old phones booted up like this when there was no other way.
Good luck, this sounds like it sucks ;(
