Running programs assign to hardware button?

I have tried to search this forum for a solution, but got somehow lost in all the posts. I know about those great applications like e.g. smartkey etc. but if I do want to assign only the "Memory/Running programs List" menu to a hardware button, is there any easier solution (e.g. using some registry adjustments)?

Make a shortcut exactly as follows:
ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,4,2
Save it as VJForgetMeNot.lnk
Go to Settings > Personal > Buttons
and assign VJForgetMeNot.lnk to a hardware key.

Is it possible!?!?

Hi all!
I'd like to configure the std button to open contact and/or calendar in order to do some action (create new sms for example!) or open some app. when press and hold... is it possible?
Any simple app that make just that?

Markino: can you explain further? You want to open a particular contact, but in what screen? Contacts or calendar?
Or you want to press the contacts/calendar button and use it to send an sms etc?

I'd like to press and hold the calender or contact button and associate the "press and hold" to do somethink like "create new sms"...
P.S: I'd like a easy way to create new sms.

VJPhoneTools will do this. There is another way, but they're both just as difficult.
You could also use the app on this forum, SmartKey or something, to give you a "new" menu on the Today screen, to create new sms etc. Very very good app.

Why not do it using voice activation i start my msgs excel and calender using voice activation

CommManager on Hard button?

Tried to assign CommManager to a hardbutton but had no luck, any reghacks or similar that I can do to assign it f.ex HOLD Audio REcord button?

Go to windows directory and you can find CommManager.exe file. Create a short cut and copy to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" . Now Comm Manager will apear in your available programs list. No go to Settings --> Buttons and assign it to any button you want.

I used Resco Explorer.
Find windows/commeneger.exe and in Resco Eplorer choose "send to start menu as shortcut. (or something like this)
After this you can assign to any hardbutton

Is CommManager.exe a hidden file? Using File Explorer I can't see it in my Windows directory....

Yes it's cool to have a shortcut for commanager, but I am only able to configure the voice and the camera button. Isn't there a way to configure "press and hold" in one of the other buttons as a shortcut? Is it possible to configure a shortcut directly to wifi on/off, instead of commanager (that would save me a couple of clicks every time I arrive home)?

On - > settings -> Buttons, I only have 4 buttons can I add a new one?

[REQ] Can no longer program Hard Buttons

I've checked these forums but can't find any obvious answer.
I previously had ROM version 1.48 where I was able to program a hard button long press of the answer call key.... SO I used a long press to bring up the task manager.
But with ROM 1.61 this seems to have disappeared.
i.e. If I go into Start -> Settings -> Menu -> All Settings -> Personal -> Buttons
A button was there for me to assign a task. But this seems to have disappeared.
Without having to install any other application (such as AE Buttons) is there any known way of creating a shortcut to a hard button ?
Perhaps a registry hack ?
Any advice would be much appreciated
