After I installed SMS hotfix from HTC, I cannot open my mails directly from mail tab on Sense UI. I tap on the mail, nothing happens. I have to go to inbox and open them from there!? I removed the hotfix but it's still there. It's really annoying! Does anynone have the same problem?
Did you try a soft reset or switch the phone off and then back on?

This is a known issue (and has nothing to do with the above-mentioned hotfix) and seriously, you would have found it had you searched.
Go to start and then lock (bottom-left softkey). After that it will work.

I would highly recommend that you disable HTC Messaging.

Yesterday I noticed that I don't longer hear the SMS incoming sound (doesn't matter which soundfile is selected).
The message arrives and thats it no indication by either blinking, vibrating or alarm.
The problem only occurres with SMS, Emails and MMS are being notified in every possible way as it should be.
I had this problems once before and ended up with hardresetting my terra. Don't want to do that everytime.
I also noticed that the SMS/Text Message account in Pocket Outlook isn't displayed anymore just Outlook and MMS is avaible from the menu.
To avoid misunderstandigs I do receive SMSes and can open them at any time from Pocket Outlook. Just getting no notification alerts and missing the SMS account settings inside Outlook
Anykind of help or a link is very much appreciated.

I think i ve got a more serious problem, with the same effects.
I can't see anything else at Messaging accounts, only a "Setup E-mail" button (no messages). I tried to set up an e-mail, but when i finished it goes back to the account select screen, and still only one option, to add a new email account.
After i press X and reactivate the screen on the Task Manager, i can see the Outlook's Inbox, but when i see the folders there arent messages only the Outlook e-mail.
I added the registry key you said, because there was only one key in that folder (nosentmessages 1), nothing changed.
I cooked this rom in my own, had i something missed to put in? If yes, are there any way to install that thing without recooking the rom?

Thanks for trying however that won't solve the problem I am having above. Using file explorer I would click on tmail.exe - the only thing that will pop up is
Setup E-Mail
SMS and MMS are not there to choose from. Originally when I click on messaging I would get 3 options to choose from. Now I would only get 1. Does that make any sense?
Looks like you might need to install Arcsoft again to get it back if it is gone.

Well that didn't work. Thanks for trying though. One thing I do notice though is - when you hard reset and check the process section under taskmanager you will see tmail.exe running in the background. With my problem - the tmail.exe is no where to be found under process. Clicking on the actual tmail.exe file under /windows doesn't do anything either. :-/

Maybe there's no fix for this - probably would have to hard reset and then take the 7+ hours to reinstall everything :-/ Thanks for the help though

It's only on the tab at the bottom, no sign of it anywhere else, always shows one more e-mail than I have.
Have tried turning Sense off and on, turning sense off and rebooting phone, ... all the usual stuff!

Ok what happened is the reg that shows the message count is stuck, the exe that I posted will reset the reg to show 0
I've tried it twice, but I'm still left with the notification for the extra e-mail
Ah... fixed! Someone on a forum I'm not allowed to link to posted this:
"Have you recently added a new email account or set up a new exchange sync? I found when I did this there'd be a message from MS about 'email tips' would magically appear. It appearred as a 'read' message but still added a count of 1 to the 'unread' . If it's there delete it."
This was indeed the problem!

I then searched the forum and found the above post. I ran the exe posted, and then rebooted, which sorted it out. Thanks zelendel! I've kept the exe in case the 'phantom email notification' happens again.
Got my HD2 yesterday and went through all the steps to install Kumar's rom. Everything is running great but I have just one small problem.
The e-mail notifier on the home screen shows I have 1 new message when I don't. I've tried reading all that it downloaded, deleting all e-mails, deleting e-mail account, and setting it up again. It still shows I have 1 unread e-mail.
Is there a registry key I can change to fix this problem? Or perhaps another method I have not tried yet?
Have you tired a battery pull or a soft reset. I have had this issue once before and also check in your htc mail box if there is any boxes that have unopened mail that might be it also.
Have tried resetting the device. Will check the HTC thing, if you could tell me how to find it that is...
just go to your inbox that says it has a message. on the top left if you click inbox a drop down list showing all your folders should show and check in those folders.

Actually if you press the Options Key (Left One) you can organize the log... but thats not what we are searching maybe it helps i dont know?

yeah - but it will come back every time you exit and press Phone again, also, there is no option to display ALL Call Logs, either ALL or individuals....
We need to get rid of the SMS log entirely... or at least the option whether to log it or not...

i found a (kinda) solution, but you'll have to install GoSMS from the market. Anyway it's an awesome sms app, i used to use Handcent and Chomp but finally settle for this.
Under Settings---> Receive Settings , check "Disable other message notification".

i'm on litening rom 2.1 i go to messaging, setting and untick the notification and it will be gone in your logs...you should have handcent or other messaging app....
