Obviously beta, very good ui!
The feel of the program is very good. Cant wait until the release of 9.5.
a bit slow but feels great and the ui rocks too! with double tap on the screen you can zoom in or out!
love it - v9.5 should be good. I don't think it is slow
but this version seems to be for vga screens - all of the controls are huge. or is that just me?
how do you uninstall? ):
The icons are big for me too.
Also can't see it in 'Remove Programs' - oh dear!
The icons do appear to be in vga but if you press and hold on a webpage you can select to switch to landscape and all the buttons are visible - settings, transfers etc. I find it very useable even with the big icons as it automatically returns to fullscreen thereby hiding all icons.
its rubish if u ask me there is no uninstall and im now having to re flash my hermes to stop opera from opening every .cab i put on my phone!
i can understand it a beta but ive never had this problem with other opera software...
can anyone figure out a way to uninstall this. i don't want to hard rest my htc touch
Delete the programm folder, shortcuts and registry data
8 MB for installation needed^^. I'm trying storage card...
I told it to install to the storage card, but it looks like it's installed it in program memory anyway

yep same here...
after testing it for about 10 minutes i can say:
1. UI is well made, tabbed browsing is great
2. it's not as responsive and fast as opera mini which is kind of sad
3. as described it seems to be vor vga only, so it looks kinda odd...
4. did you try logging in into some site? it will allways put a blank in between two letters. i can't log in into anything with this browser
still, better than netfront. then again, i think i'll stick to opera mini 4
Plus it's taken over as the default browser
opera beta
Seems to run very slow! UI is very bad. This looks like it has a long way to go
opera
where did you find this beta?
qvga skin
overwrite the original with the attached skinfile in \Application Data\Opera9\skin
... there are surely some glitches, since i just shrunk the files in 50% of their size with irfanview
Hi,
I want to change the "gui" of my touch dual, maybe putting something like manilla. There are some apps around to customize the PPC like XIAMultiTheme (see post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396910). I want something nice and change the feeling of the Nike but something fast. Which one do you think is the best customization? I like the one of that post, but i am afraid is going to be slower.
im using this at the moment and it looks very nice

Wow, i like
throttle launcher looks really nice
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TraPlMCjZUU&feature=related
im gonna try it out
ducamie, seems nice, is it fast?
the throttle launcher is still beta so its not as fast as it could be, but it is very smooth and beautiful graphics. by far the best diamond theme ive tried.
i recomend you try it, its a very simple install. install the 2 cabs and select the theme in the today screen option, then reboot and it will load.
http://www.throttlelauncher.com/portal/index.php/downloads/34-public-releases/81-093-beta
Pointui is the best. Not the greatest to look at but the fastest and the smoothest. Loads super quick to.

ducamie, I've seen the manila2D and seems really nice, but I have read some problems that required hard reset... is it really stable on our niki?

ive had it on my nike for about a week now and its really great. it had a few bugs earlier but update 8 fixed it. it is really great.
i highly recommend it.
Is it faster than the TouchFlo that brings the Nike? ducamie, I think this weekend i'm going to install it...
I have Manilla2D on my Nike and it does take a while to turn the phone on, but once on it runs fine. Manilla2D looks great.
how do I install that manilla2d?

hi,
SPB Mobile Shell is working fast and looks nice, but it's not freeware.
In my opinion Manilla2D rocks (I don't use Mobile Shell anymore) but I still haven't found the perfect gui.
Hi,
I was active in the BA forum about a year ago, and have some free time now so would like to get my BA working again
When I was here last helmi had just released his first 6.0 rom. Could anyone advise me about how the ROMs have improved since then, i.e. improvements between 6.0 - 6.1 - 6.5, and recommend which version to install?
I'm mainly looking for stability and a clean and well organised interface. I tried a ROM just now out of curiosity and found it was completely messed up with coverflow picture viewers, oversized task managers etc. which did not look good.
Thanks for any help, or just general ROM discussion
hardingt0110
maybe i will recook latest 6.1
if you really look for stability do not try WM 6.5, about the speed the 6.5 roms are quite fast
i personally use 6.5 because i can handle the crashes here and there, but it is possible you never encounter a crach on 6.5
WM6.5 is still in beta stage thats why you may encounter bugs ...
try for yourself, i recomend if you use your device on daily basis and not just for toy use 6.1 until 6.5 becomes RTM
wm6.1 build 21032 or 21038 are waiting for ya
Cheers for the help
So which ROM would you guys reccomend for my requirements of fewest bugs / cleanest interface? I guess imatrix you were talking about xtreme's ROMS there, or sun_dreams?
@xplode: once wm6.5 is stable, will it have any improvements over 6.1? Would I be better with a 6.0 over 6.1 for that matter? That would be great if you could make a new version of 6.1
Thanks

I for once don't agree with you! LOL Well I use R3 Your Creation... on a daily basis and beat the cheet out of it, and have had very few crashes... So... C'mon mate, trust your work Its going great. Getting ready to flash R5.1 . I just need to sync phone first. I had to re-format my pc and haven't installed Outlook yet, so, till I can find my Office CD and can Sync my contact I won't be flashing. Oh... I hate moving... Still have 1/2 my stuff in boxes and can't remember what is where.
@ hardingt0110: I can suggest Swampy's WM6.1 : BA_M2D_CE_OS_5220275__Build_20275.1.3.3_V3 I used it for quite a while, still have it on one of my other BA's and to me, it was pretty featured and stable. Use it with his ExtROM.
If you read a little on the top 10 threads, you will find most answers to your questions about 6.0 vrs .1 and .5
Happy Flashing!
@ Explode: Like I said, I haven't flashed 6.5 R5.1 yet, but just from what you've wrote, I can already say... Thank You! You've really put your time into this last ROM. My Respects to you and all the other great cookers.
@ Swampy: You've been a little quiet my friend. Waiting to see what's New @ Swamps Cooking
@ markanthonypr: Edit your signature lazy boy, you don't have a "working Tornado" anymore LOL
@ Rafyvitto: Thanks for suggesting BA its all your fault LOL
I will always try latest ROM, though I know it could be buggy, but I feel we are the persons to give true feedback to developers to resolve build related issues and finally make them solid. Developers are working for us and we should help them by pointing out bugs in decent ways ( not discouraging ways) I have installed xplode's 6.5.1

I'm totally agreed with that!
I tried Swampy's M2D CE_OS_5.2.20931, its fast but the folders are not really organized. I'm currently using xplode's Build 19209; slower but stable and looks pretty official.
Cheers to ROM developers!

@xplode,
You know mark is right, right? You should have more trust in your work buddy!! Your roms are normally great with a few bugs here and there.
@ hardingt0110
If I were you, I would jump directly to WM6.5. markanthonypr is right on the money... I use 6.5 for daily use and I beat it like a rented mule without any issues. I have had to do a series or SR in the past week, but it is not because of the rom itself but rather because of the latest release of PointUI2, which for some reason is buggy as hell. I uninstalled it and everything is back to normal. Try it, you may like it...
@ mark
Moving is always a pain in the a$$. Don't feel bad though, I moved about 2 years ago and I still have half of my stuff packed in boxes.
Thanks for all the help guys, you've saved me hours of ROM trying and the associated risks in flashing
I think I will try xplode's R5.1, as the screenshots of the interface look pretty neat. How does the honeycomb interface work? It always looks slightly too big for the screen?
Has anyone got any reccomendations for interface enhancements for wm6.5? S2P http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417511 looks a lot nicer than WMP along with all the other apps by A_C.
Thanks
EDIT: What are the fixed themes next to the ROM download? do I need these if I download the fixed rom?

The apps enhancements are really up to personal taste... Here's what I normally have
Main UI: Varies but currently using PointUI 2 Free v 2.018b (later releases are too buggy)
Music Player: S2P
Lock Program: either S2U2 or ThrottleLock
Browser: NetFront Browser Concept 3.5 and Iris Browser (both are light, pretty fast, and Iris can use true Flv video (youtube and such))
Contact Manager: Pocket CM
Keyboard: PCM keyboard
Mail Management: I use the stock Pocket Outlook. However, Flexmail isn't bad either (not free though)
Video Player: Either CorePlayer or TCPMP
Picture Viewer: S2P
Games: A bunch!!
GPS Program: IGo 6 (will change it to Google Navigate eventually, but this one works rather well).
Calendar: Thumbcal (not free)
Thanks i will look into those
By the way I figured out that the honeycomb scrolls
I still don't know what those fixed themes are :S can I still use my own background in wm6.5?
yes of course you can use customized backgrounds. if you pick a qvga jpg picture, open it with "pictures and videos" you can set it as today background and select transparency, that also makes it the start menu background and those abstract pictures, general dark background with colorful lightplay looks wonderful. i already tried a lot of custom backgrounds and can't even decide with which to go permanently. i wouldn't recommend .tsk today themes though, they didn't just change the title bar and menu bar, which i expected, they took away all the finger friendlyness and put back the ugly old menus and scrollbars.
It's out guys!

quite snappy indeed, too bad the hardware keyboard doesn't work with it.
do we need to tweak it like we tweaked 9.7?

Kbd works here. Maybe that softreset that fixed the game?
Wow, it is ridculously smooth and fast.
I'm not impressed with it...
Opera mini 5 like which I didn't like!!!
Flash still not working
yup.. looks like a softreset fixes everything! LOL except tilewave
It DOESN'T work on my X1!

The whole Opera doesn't work!
I just see a boot screen and than nothing happens!
I reseted the device, still nothing.
Installed again after uninstall and reset.
Nothing! WTF?!
So is this better than 9.5 (or 9.7)? Because it looks like Opera Mini... Can't try it now, maybe in a few hours...
I liked better the fullscreen browsing of the older versions and that you had the taskbar visible when you pressed the lower button to reveal the other controls...
still doesn't support flash
Works perfect on my X1i (incl. HW keyboard, which also works). Extremely fast browser. Does not have, or at least I did not find, the odd Opera 9.7 beta way of rendering some pages. Again 100 out of 100 score on Acid3 test (like Opera 9.7 beta).
I've tested some sites, and both the speed and the rendering quality are perfect.
The tab switching is done very nice too.
It does lack Flash support.
In contrast to Opera Mobile 9.7 beta, it does size the text width to fit to my X1's screen.
All in all, Opera Mobile 10 is a very nice browser, and maybe one of the fastest I've ever worked with (comparing to real browsers, not like Skyfire or Opera Mini).
I really want to test and see the browser but it doesn't work here!!!!
This is crazy!
SE X1. No faults, device working 100%.
Can anybody confirm that Opera 9.7 and 10 work together on the device or one of them has to be uninstalled??
Every app I installed has no problems here, are you aware of any possible conflicts on the device??
D - you sure you downloaded the windows mobile version? I think your link takes you to a different version.
I got it working no problem - it basically looks exactly like mini 5.0 so far...

Opera_Mobile_10_WM_Beta_1.cab
so no doubts right?!
Guys ... Great news I heard today... Tomorrow is the day when Flash 10.1 for WinMo Beta is going to be released!!! So all our troubles with opera and flash should be resolved
Thats great news VelikiMeshtar. Didnt know that, thanks for sharing.
About the opera 10 beta 1. I think its more a replacement for the opera 5 mini. Because it looks like opera mini 5 and like opera mini 5, I cant view some pages which I could see in opera 9.7 beta. And did I noticed right that there is still no synchronization for bookmarks or did I miss something? It would be pitty if I'm right.
For me, I will still use Opera 9.7 for websites with difficult scripts or something like that and I will replace Opera mini 5 with Opera 10. Nice work from Opera anyway. They are still the first choise for me.
Installed Opera Mobile 10. Works great! I find it way better than Opera Mobile 9.5 and 9.7. I'm happy.
Still nothing as good as Opera Mini 4.2
Downloaded opera 10 and now my camera and video won't work.
error: unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device.
ok Camera started working but the screens keep freezing. How do I remove the program?

btw this is a known issue, search would have found it ...
Also, just an observation, you should really learn about installing/uninstalling apps before you install one ...
got it just forgot were the app page was. Removed the opera now back on the hunt for a good browser...lol Thanks
I'd suggest Skyfire, pretty good and wickedly fast IMO.
try this one, it works for me with no probs
slightly edited
This "slighty edited" one works great, THANK YOU!!
The only problem i still have is that if you are in landscape and then leave opera the other screens become landscape, and sense crashes. The only way to undo the landscape orientation is to go back into opera and go into portrait again. Hopefully HTC will come out with a new rom that has an updated browser, 9.7 is pretty pathetic

Aww man, I had to reflash the rom and now opera 10 wont work right anymore. For the life of me i cant figure out what i did differently. Back to 9.7 again. Does anyone know whats causing these memory issues with opera 10?
Does Opera 9 really suck that bad? Also the version of Explorer on our phone is actually pretty good. It doesn't do pinch zoom, but it does flash... Between Opera and Explorer that came loaded on my phone, I'm more than happy...
