Anyone knows what is the difference with it on?

I don't get it. Why would you ask for a way to ensure that a certain thing is always turned on if you do not know what it actually does?????

No one knows what is this for?

What?
I knows it reduces noise (the name is obvious...) but what noise? From our side or from the other persons side? And how (the HD2 only has one mic, unlike the Pro2 I think)?

Oh Ok... I'll try to test it latter and then post the results (if I get any results)...

No, I use a custom ROM, but I'm not questioning what it does. I just don't understand why a thread has been raised asking how to do something that the OP doesn't even know what it is for!

Volume Booster

Hello All,
I'm a newbie and I wanted to know if there is app any where like Volume Care that allows me to boost the sound of the device? I currently have a T-Mobile Wing.
Thx
Yeah i would like somethin like that to
Wow I'm surprised no one has tackled this one? Is it possible for me to develop something on my own? I have no programming skills but I would be willing to try it out.
yes..i'm interested also
Do you guys want this for the main speaker, handset's ear piece used during
calls or headphone output?

There are multiple threads running on this forum about boosting the volume using the registry. Did you check that out?
Maybe you should ask an admin if there could be a special section for the T-Mobile Wing (HTC Atlas). Keep in mind that a lot of tips and tweaks are already available for similar devices

I would like it for the main speaker personally. I don't think the volume of the handset's speaker is bad. More so I want to hear it when I have an incoming call but I don't think it would hurt to have something that controls all that can be adjusted.

When I do a search nothing seems to come up? If you have some keywords because I might be using the wrong ones, I'll gladly do the grunt work of search for a solution. Thanks

WOW, the main speaker is TOO loud in my case. Maybe your settings are off.
Another fix is making your own ringtones and tailoring the sound for more high
end. I'm sure you noticed how TV commercials ALWAYS seem louder, well it's
how they choose the sound mix do get that "loudness". I make all my
ringtones and they're bloody loud.

I agree the search function does s*ck
The way it works for me the best is:
Google >> Advanced >> Use 'http://forum.xda-developers.com' as domain. That's all

No, it's not related.
He wanted to know how he can have a short vibrate-signal when a call connection is established (e.g. when answering a phone call, the phone vibrates one short time and shows you that you can speak now)
Try Yota Contacts. It also has the vibrate when call picked up feature.
isn't that available on the Blackstone Dialer too?

Yes. The option became available for me after installing the Blackstone Dialer.
It's under phone options on the "Advanced" tab (the last one on the right).

Ah, cool. Sodoes this work for outgoing calls? Say when the other person picks up, so we don't have to keep phone to ear while it rings.
The feature described sounds nice, it's a HTC feature? I'v never heard of it before.

For the fifth time in this forum, search for VAlert. It's a small problem which allows you to choose the "pulse" you want for incoming calls.

Disable wake up on new SMS

Is it possible to disable phone wake up when a new message comes in? I want wake up to be enabled when a call is coming, but not for text messages. I think there are some "scripts" in the registry to control the ringing-behaviour and these involve wake up. Is it possible to modify this setting specifically for SMS/MMS?

Have you tried applying the registry tweak mentioned in the threads? It was what you were looking for, wasn't it?

HELP Need a registry hack to removing camera sound

I have a HD2 with a official telstra customized ROM which doesn't have the option to turn off the camera shutter sound. Is there a registry hack to remove/disable this sound?
It is not needed. The camera app itself has this feature. Check the advanced options section 3

I don't know the details of Telstra ROM, but maybe you can overwrite the shutter sound file (By using Resco Explorer) with a silent one with the same name. Just a thought..

It's worth a try. I have replaced the ShutterSound.wav file with a silent file with the same name but it still makes the shutter noise when taking pictures. Why?

hmm, a quick search for 'shutter' in ceregistryeditor (i recommend it) turns up a few keys in
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\sytem\pictures\camera\oem
entries like forceshuttersound, and shuttersoundvolume look interesting, try fiddling with them.
Check TG01 threads
I used to have a TG01 and there was no option to remove the shutter sound but through replacing the shuttersound audio file the problem was solved. There are a couple of ways to do it and I do not remember the exact way. Try checking the TG01 forum here or check http://www.modaco.com/content/toshiba-tg01-tg01-modaco-com/291997/remove-shutter-sound/ they were the first ones to support the TG01 and all hacks that go along with it.

I have replaced both values with 0. But still no luck, I also noticed that the shuttersound in the registry is linked to /windows/shuttersound.wav which I have already replaced with a silent file. So how is it possible for it to still make the noise?

It is a legal requirement in more than a few countries that there had to be a sound when taking pictures. It's so you can't take sneaky pictures without someone's permissions, ie changing rooms...

Unfortunately not, you have to do manually when starting or when receiving the phone call.
