Disable wake up on new SMS - XPERIA X1 General

Is it possible to disable phone wake up when a new message comes in? I want wake up to be enabled when a call is coming, but not for text messages. I think there are some "scripts" in the registry to control the ringing-behaviour and these involve wake up. Is it possible to modify this setting specifically for SMS/MMS?

What does it do to achieve it? I don't like XperiaTweak too much, I don't think it's a very good piece of SW. And it means one app more.

it does what you have asked.

I know so man, I want to know HOW IT DOES IT. This must be a simple registry setting (Anything else is rubbish anyway). I just wanna know which one and I'm so happy.

Doesn't sound like it's working well for them. Are you sure this is the same thing that XperiaTweak does?

Have you tried applying the registry tweak mentioned in the threads? It was what you were looking for, wasn't it?
HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Select "New" D_Word and you will be asked to enter the details :
Top portion just enter : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
and bottom portion just enter the value : 1

No, it's not related.
He wanted to know how he can have a short vibrate-signal when a call connection is established (e.g. when answering a phone call, the phone vibrates one short time and shows you that you can speak now)
Try Yota Contacts. It also has the vibrate when call picked up feature.
isn't that available on the Blackstone Dialer too?

Yes. The option became available for me after installing the Blackstone Dialer.
It's under phone options on the "Advanced" tab (the last one on the right).

Ah, cool. Sodoes this work for outgoing calls? Say when the other person picks up, so we don't have to keep phone to ear while it rings.
The feature described sounds nice, it's a HTC feature? I'v never heard of it before.

For the fifth time in this forum, search for VAlert. It's a small problem which allows you to choose the "pulse" you want for incoming calls.

Yes, but the trick is NOT to reset the device after modifying the registry. That's quite unexpected from my point of view. That part is mentioned in the thread I pointed to.

thanks everyone for all your help
BTW, another solution for some of you may be to use a different ROM. I'm using Topaz Essentials 1.6 ROM (TESS1.6) from chef Aman, and this ROM doesn't have the wifi turning off problem.

It only works (worked for me) if you do the followings:
make the changes in reg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms]
"HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms]
"HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001
as mentioned here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524490
But if you reset your device you will have to re do it again
So, we really need a little cap with on/off

Thanks Pri (my personal search assistant),
I found that and the control panel addon. What I'm wondering is it used as default in the Maple/Willow?
Specifically I wonder because I've noticed the rendered type in some programs (Skyfire, IE, etc) is not as clear as others. I'm curious - if ClearType is on, would this be an issue with the various apps or if it's not active, would it be an issue that ClearType could resolve.

[Request] Auto text on missed call?

Hey, guys. I'm wondering if there's such a way that I can set my phone to auto text someone when A call is missed?
My phone: HTC TOUCH PRO2 (T-Mobile USA)
My phone has a deny with text message feature, but I just want one for when calls are missed.
Mainly want one that can have customize text, so that I can edit it for the different things I'm doing. ( or maybe the auto text message is different according to your profile (IE: in school, it will give a text message saying that I'm in school, or Meeting, ect. )
Just a suggestion, not only for me, but I thought some people would find it useful.

Sorry if there's a Rule Against Grave-Digging. Didn't see anything in the rules about it.
It would be cool if you there's an app that you can set the text messages according to schedual. If I miss calles from 7am-3pm it'll send a text message saying that I'm in school, ect.

HELP Need a registry hack to removing camera sound

I have a HD2 with a official telstra customized ROM which doesn't have the option to turn off the camera shutter sound. Is there a registry hack to remove/disable this sound?
It is not needed. The camera app itself has this feature. Check the advanced options section 3

I don't know the details of Telstra ROM, but maybe you can overwrite the shutter sound file (By using Resco Explorer) with a silent one with the same name. Just a thought..

hmm, a quick search for 'shutter' in ceregistryeditor (i recommend it) turns up a few keys in
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\sytem\pictures\camera\oem
entries like forceshuttersound, and shuttersoundvolume look interesting, try fiddling with them.
Check TG01 threads
I used to have a TG01 and there was no option to remove the shutter sound but through replacing the shuttersound audio file the problem was solved. There are a couple of ways to do it and I do not remember the exact way. Try checking the TG01 forum here or check http://www.modaco.com/content/toshiba-tg01-tg01-modaco-com/291997/remove-shutter-sound/ they were the first ones to support the TG01 and all hacks that go along with it.

I have replaced both values with 0. But still no luck, I also noticed that the shuttersound in the registry is linked to /windows/shuttersound.wav which I have already replaced with a silent file. So how is it possible for it to still make the noise?

It is a legal requirement in more than a few countries that there had to be a sound when taking pictures. It's so you can't take sneaky pictures without someone's permissions, ie changing rooms...
