i was using some screen cleaner to apply a protector to it. I used a credit card to squeege out the excess fluid, as i now know that i used just a litttle tooo much! When I turned on the screen it looked like an oil stain on at least 1/4 my screen on the right side. the cleaner had seeped through the small crack between the case and the touch screen
I panicked a little bit, then decided to put my phone on top of a fluorecent lamp in my kitchen. it had four small parallel tubes and the phone sat nicely across it. I let it bake with the light on for two hours. Let the phone cool for an hour, powered it on, and the stain was completely gone. THank god! now i'll be a little more careful when applying screen protectors. I'm just glad i was using a cleaning solution that evaporates quickly.
Nice Job )
next time you'd better let the seller do it for you

LOL LMAO very good mate
Hi Folks,
I'm reading this forum since about 1,5 weeks, as I got my first smartphone then. Unfortunaly I sent it back today, as it got broken yesterday. It has the problem, that the touchscreen doesn't untouch. I made a picture:
I can get rid of this touched area by pressing on it with my fingernail and move it to the bottom.
I think it's from that lether case. Anybody else ever had a problem like that? Probably with another phone type?
Looks like condensation under the screen to me.
Reapply screen protector... That's it..
I thought about water also, but under the microscope we have seen that it wasn't water. I was able to remove it restless until I touched it next.
I removed the screenprotector, but that wasn't a solution.
Unfortonaly I had to send it back today, as I'll get a brandnew one within the first 14 Days after delivery
Wow that's new. Mebe condensation.
Maybe since the touch part is 2 layers, Glass and Plastic screen hovering on top of that, that it got too hot somehow and that the plastic part got stuck to the glass. mebe if you had let it cool or something it woulda unstuck.
Was the phone near any heat or in direct sunlight?\
This looks like a cracked digitizer, a touch sensitive layer above the screen itself. The screen underneath usually seems to be fine, but it doesn't have the touch capabilities anymore. It has a look of spilled liquid and you should be able to see dots of the touch grid, you can't see them normally. It happened to me on my Orbit2. I think whole screen has to be changed...

I thought about something like that too. Has the digitizer a "spazial" filling, so that you have a "soft feeling" when you tab it with the penzil?

I had the phone in my trouser pocket every day. No sunlight or heat. I tried cooling down...no chance. I had a Cassiopeia once and had a waterdamage to it. There I was able to get the water out of the touchpad by having it on my heating for a few days. But it looked not like this here.

I had the same screen protector...strange. I removed it before i sent it back. After removing I tried, but the error wasn't gone. I think better remove it before sending it back, but you should also try if this fixes the problem. Tell us if or if not

i wouldn't pay for damage why the phone is never fall
i hope well
Just had the same problem with my Td2. Not impressed. The phone was fine one minute as listening to my music on it, popped it in my pocket went upstairs ang got this blob right in the centre of the screen.
Glad I took the insurance now as this is going to have to get sent back. Not overly impressed as only had the phone for 6 weeks and having a problem with the build.
Just a quick question for those that had this problem. Was the damaged screen visible under all types of light?
I ask this because taking into different rooms in my house and different types of light it seems to disappear, then reappears under other light sources. I will test in the daytime tomorrow but am now starting to wonder exactly how long it has been there...

My "blob" couldn't be seen when I looked straight from above. As on my pictrue I had to look from a angle to see it. Also it was hard to see under bright daylight. Hope that helps.
But I have a question also: You all used the leather bag shipped with the phone? I think the case isn't plain enought inside. I think there is a higher pressure one the display while wearing it in my trouser pocket. Anybody else who can tell more about that?
I've the same problem, at least I think it is the same. Touch still works fine, but it seems like there is some condensation underneath the screen.
I can confirm that it has nothing to do with the screenprotector.
If I put my finger on it, it moves to the sides. Sometimes it seems to be gone, but after a while I notice it again.
It's a very colourful stain. Can I claim warranty for this kind of 'errors'?

As you are the 4th in this thread I think so
It's not under warranty of HTC, at least that's what they told me...
Did somebody else contacted HTC about this problem?

too bad it seems like they classify it under 'cracked display' - and according to the user manual it is not covered by warranty.
Probably, but I think it's just an error of HTC. The way they treat their loyal customers is, in my opinion, verry disappointing. It was the same with the problems everyone had with the TytnII.
Today I got my phone back from my provider...the same broken one. In the letter they told my I sent it back too later
Now I'm dissapointed from o2 Germany, cause the customer support told me what to do and I did it.
guys i had the same problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519441) and i got a replacement. but i tell you.. this is caused because one time the phone got hit by pressure on the screen and the screen itself kinda felt into the phonecase. check out from the side.. you probably will see that the screen is lowered - then when you use fingers on the touchscreen this blob appears. in my case the screen didnt work anymore as soon the blob appeared... but was able to get it out with some tissue and rubbing.
also i saw some oil liquid under de screen - depending on the light outside.
so.. just take care.. this phone is very sensitive to any pressure on the screen and using it in a trouser pocket is already dangerous!
dropped it out of a window onto a wooden ramp/walkway. it slid about 5m to the bottom.
it landed on the corner where the power icon is embossed and it hard enough to take a big chunk out of it.
also scraped off a fair bit of paint from the walkway onto the touchscreen.
gave it a good wash and not a single scratch on the screen and is 100% working.

a note about topaz durability
I use it normally for 2 months and the touch screen is now not working.

Priceless!
Tony
I have recently undertaken some home improvement which involves a lot of work up and down ladders and drilling of concrete floors, my Topaz has been subjecte to dust, several drops onto concrete, splashes with water and white sprirt and is still working perfectly, couple small dings on the corners but not so as you'd notice!
Gave mine a good drunken drop kick (accidental). Works great still.....maybe even a little better. Very durable phones. Of course, you can feel the sturdiness in the hand.

Swimming
My Topaz was at the bottom of a just-chlorinated swimming pool for 15 minutes! Had to be rescued with a net because of the chlorine having just been added. (clunk-tile-clunk)
Two days later phone turns on as if nothing happened, works without any issues bar 1, which is that it appears to not charge anymore due to some corrosion on the board. Winging its way to HTC as we speak to see what they can do! Heres hoping, would be a sad waste of a Diamond2.

wtf, this is like the 3rd "I can't scratch my phone, I need professional help" movie of a Touch HD2 out there.
I've had mine fall on the street (glass down of course) and have a small, very hard to see chip in my screen. You can't feel it, but you can see it.
Hey, Touch HD 3 coming soon with a fresh unscratched screen
I said "no f*ck'n way!", but then applied a box cutter to my office window: No scratches! I have an invisi-shield on the way, but for for the slip-resistive surface of the full case. Looks like I won't be using the screen protector, but then again, I won't be applying a box cutter either.

Can you take a photo of that scratch?
It is the thing that I need to maintain my protector
Interesting thanks.
It seems kind of a trick. He used the blunt side of the knife.
I think there's some psychology involved here... anyone doing this with their own phone is going to be careful not to actually scratch the screen! What you can't see in these vids is how hard these guys are pressing the knife into the screen. Certainly, this guy would be pressing harder and actually TRYING to scratch the CD case, whereas he doesn't really want to scratch his shiny new phone! I'm not going to try, but I'm certain I could scratch my HD2 screen with a penknife if I tried!
I wasn't so lucky with my wet phone please help !
Hello Guys, I am a doctor and the other night I got home really tired and put my phone on top of my drawer as I always do, and took a coupe of aspirins and after a few mins. of tv I fell asleep. I had the glass with some water also on top of the drawer and while asleep I hit the plastic glass and some water dropped (I believe on the surface of my HD2) I say I believe because I was asleep and and I woke up at the noise of the glass falling on the floor.
I noticed the phone screen was wet and cleaned it and went back to bed.
I failed to remove the battery or turn the phone off, next morning, the screen of the phone was flashing on and off repeatedly and it behaved erratically.
I removed the battery, removed the back cover and wait... It has been three days now and if I put in the battery it turns on and works almost fine for a few mins. but the volume screen pops up repeatedly and the volume does not work and at some point it seems the phone goes crazy showing all kind of screens at random like a DEMO MODE (if you know what I mean) but the must frequent is the volume screen.
I bought some humidity absorbing powder and the phone is just there, now surrounded by it. I don't even know if it is wet inside.
Does this behavior sound familiar to any of you ? the thing is that I don't have HTC support service in my country, this phone I imported it from the us and I trully hope this is a wet solutionable problem.
I apologize for my lack of English, I hope no one gets uncomfortable.
Any help guys please ?¿
Well, if it still has water in it, you could try putting it in a bowl with some rice to draw the water out ..... let it sit covered with rice in the bowl for a couple of days might work better or might not than the drying powder you have ...
all I got ...
Thank you so much for your advise.
I will do that, the phone has been surrounded with thah powder for 24 hours now.
I'll post whatever news I get.
Again thanks a lot
Any news
Hello, do you have any news on your phone? I just got caught in a serious rain storm and my HD got soaked in my pocket :-( LOADS of water behind the screen I can see...How do i get it out, help...
Thanks in advance
